Democratic politicians across the country are paying a very high price for shoving Joe Biden into the White House. They were too busy celebrating the humiliation of Donald Trump to consider the consequences of a Joe Biden Presidency. They were already paying a high price for this. The policies being shoved down our collective throats are not popular with a lot of Democrats either. Now that these policies were simultaneously melting down, buyer’s remorse is visible everywhere. But prior to today, many Democratic politicians, particularly Democratic Governors were willing to overlook everything in exchange dreams of a desperately need influx of delicious tax dollars.
But they missed something important. Biden seldom gives any consideration to anyone other than himself and he is obvious to the real world. His decision to allow the CDC to announce the end of the “mask mandates” for everyone fully vaccinated probably seemed like a great idea. It would be a great idea, if he hadn’t chosen to drop this on everyone, with no warning, simultaneously throwing blue state Governors completely under the bus. Just hours after Gavin Newsom gloated about perhaps ending all mask mandates by June 15th, Joe Biden just ended them immediately. How, exactly, is Newsom going to convince people to keep wearing masks after this performance? Biden not only tried to take full credit for the vaccines developed solely because of the leadership of Donald Trump, he didn’t even pretend to give some small credit to all those blue state governors. If they are not furious, it is only because they are too stupid to be furious.
I do not know what will happen elsewhere, but Newsom is between a rock and a hard place. If he reduces mask mandates sooner, then he will get almost no credit for this. If he tries to extend the mask mandates, he is likely to face a full-scale rebellion. Just Monday, according to CDC guidelines, there was Biden, meeting with fully vaccinated people, in the Oval Office, all wearing masks looking terrified at spreading Covid. Just hours later, the masks aren’t necessary at all. So, were they lying then or are they lying now? Easy, they were lying both times.
Now if Donald Trump had allowed the CDC to say masks are not necessary and then set the example himself, the liberal left would have exploded. They would have said he was bullying the CDC into making irresponsible decisions. But Joe, he’s supposedly their guy, they can’t even pretend to play that game with him. The masks are coming off and there is nothing the blue state governors can do about it. Are they going to question the CDC? Or are they going to say that Joe is not up to the job?
We can be sure that there are emergency war room meetings in a lot of blue state capitols, and they are taking turns between throwing up and throwing temper tantrums. What makes this worse is the knowledge that they made this all possible. They all knew, during the primary, that Joe was not remotely capable of being President of the United States. But they were so focused on defeating Trump, by any means, that they didn’t even admit it to themselves. They knew the election was unbelievable. They did not care. They only wanted Trump gone and nothing else matters. Now, a lot of them are quickly figuring something out. It was better to have Trump in charge, insulting them, but running the country pretty well, than to have Joe Biden, not in charge, watching the country go to hell in a handbasket. At least with Trump in office, they could always blame him. Who do they blame now? Themselves? Unthinkable. Joe Biden, hmmm?
Now they are pushing people to give shots to 12-year-old children who have close to zero chance of getting COVID, an even lower chance of getting seriously ill and an even lower chance of dying. But we don’t know the impact this vaccine will have 20 years from now, when they are young adults. That is why the COVID vaccines were only approved for emergency use, it takes years to document the long-term effects of any vaccine. Smart parents know this. Wealthy white liberal parents living in the Washington D.C. bubble, not so much.
While everyone was cheering Joe Biden’s brave new mask less deal the media missed something big. They weren’t cheering Joe Biden, and they weren’t cheering Kamala Harris. They were cheering the end of the insanity. People recently released from an insane asylum rarely return to thank the staff that kept them there. We are now all looking at a New Mask Less Deal. Incredible.
