It is sometimes entertaining to watch shows like COPS etc. Most of us never really have to deal with real criminals. But the police deal with them all the time. One of the first things noticed is that criminals almost never tell the truth, even when confronted with inconvenient facts. They keep making up stories, in a desperate belief that somehow the police will buy this nonsense. While a rookie cop might be confused, the experienced members of the force are far less naïve. Our favorite is when they literally catch someone with drugs in his or her pockets and they start shrieking about “those aren’t my pants.” Right. Most of us have found ourselves wandering around wearing someone else’s pants.
Ultimately, there comes the decisive moment when the criminal realizes the gig is up. (sorry). That is when they at least start telling some of the truth. Never the whole truth, mind you, but at least they confront the reality that the police aren’t buying their act anymore. In most, but not all cases, they realize it is time to shut up and stop spouting nonsense that isn’t helping their cause.
Then I realized that this is exactly what is happening to some Democrats already and is about to happen to a lot more democrats soon. They have been telling the same lies, for so long, with enthusiastic support from fellow Kool Aid drinkers that too many of them have convinced themselves that this utter nonsense is somehow true. They are either hopelessly stupid or they just hope we are hopelessly stupid. What makes this worse is every lie they tell just makes things worse. It is now so bad now that even if Trump truly did something awful, no one would believe them. At this point, they will are seriously challenged to find anyone, including fellow Democrats, willing to continue playing the game.
The ”leaders” in the Democrat Party are composed of two different kinds of people. Left-wing newcomers who don’t have a clue, and doddering old fools, typically around my age, who don’t realize that time is no longer on their side. Some of these people, like Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi, were very shrewd and extremely good at playing the game. But both Chuck and Nancy are well past their expiration dates. They were always this bad and this wrong, but they used to be far more skilled at hiding it. They were helped by a Republican party too engaged in circular firing squads to notice they were losing to Democrats, who might be very wrong, but were always united.
Now both Chuck and Nancy are so yesterday. Yet, there is little hope for tomorrow. When Democrats are focusing on people like AOC and Pete Buttigieg, even RINO Republicans look good in comparison.
It is often said that Democrats routinely accuse Republicans of doing things they are actually doing themselves. I don’t know if that is accurate, but at times it sure seems accurate. But there is a new sheriff in town, or I should say, several new sheriffs in town. People like Pam Bondi and Kash Patel, who are experienced prosecutors. People who won’t settle for the quick but meaningless photo op. Like all true professionals, they are efficiently building a case that will result in prosecutions and convictions. The truth is going to come out and it will be devastating. The American people are about to be confronted with the truth about January 6th. It will become obvious to most, but not all, who were the true villains and who were the real victims.
There are other examples. Letitia James, who famously ran on a platform to get Trump, is about to get trumped. Her problem is that she actually committed the kinds of crimes she tried and fail to pin on Donald Trump. Here’s a news flash to Democrats. Seeing your star performer put in handcuffs and later yellow jump suits is not a good look. Neither is choosing an MS13 gang banger wife beater here illegally as the face of people who deserve due process.
In any event, we will soon know, because the search for tomorrow will start with evidence of crimes committed but ignored. As always, the truth will out, one way or the other, and that is a good thing. In the meantime, be prepared for a new and entertaining show of cops and bobbers.
