Democrats are in deep yogurt, and they know it. Every poll shows them getting demolished during the midterms. That is why wise Democratic members of congress are suddenly retiring. It was bad enough that Joe Biden has mucked up handling COVID and the economy to a fare thee well. The humiliation of our catastrophic withdrawal from Afghanistan made things so much worse. Now we are watching Biden and Kamala Harris self-destruct trying and failing to deal with the crisis in Ukraine. What the media is ignoring, but what is beyond obvious to everyone else, is that Joe Biden on TV is now a complete horror show. He looks awful, he sounds awful, he says dumb things, and no one can even imagine him having any positive impact on Vladimir Putin. This is so bad that sometimes one wonders who is worse, Joe Biden, or his script writers.

Democrats were left with one and only one viable strategy. Arrest Donald Trump. Put him on trial. Everything is his fault. For four years we heard how the Russia Collusion investigation was closing in on the Don. Never happened. Never came close to happening. Now it has been completely discredited and the people in trouble are those who perpetuated this ridiculous hoax in the first place. Yet, again, in an act of absolute desperation, the MSM has been screaming that the New York Prosecutors are really, this time for sure, closing in on Donald Trump. Then, today, out of the blue, a lightning stroke that shredded the last frail shred of hope. The two prosecutors leading the Manhattan district attorney’s investigation into Donald Trump just resigned. It turns out they haven’t called a single witness is about a month. The new Manhattan District Attorney, Alvin Bragg, told them he was not enthusiastic about pursuing a case against Donald Trump without any real crime and with zero real evidence.

Ironically Alvin Bragg is the first African-American elected to be the New York County District Attorney. Bragg has promised that he will no longer prosecute low-level offenses such as fare evasion, resisting arrest, prostitution or smoking pot. He also promises to seek lesser charges for burglaries and store robberies. Well Glory Be, he apparently has no interest in pursuing Donald Trump either for poorly defined low-level crimes for which there is zero evidence. Sometimes the Lord works in mysterious ways his wonders to perform. Just when the MSM thought the legal system was closing in on the Don, again, one of their left-wing liberal heroes just drove a stake in their heart. We can guarantee the Don is celebrating big time tonight.

The situation in the Ukraine is guaranteed to get worse. No one can predict what Putin will do. but everyone knows nothing Joe Biden does will have any impact on the outcome. Putin is now 69 years old, and perhaps he realizes he is running out of time. Many people, who know him well, have said he is a different person. That obviously makes him harder to predict. This reminds me of a tee shirt, I wanted to buy, but was restrained from purchase by my wiser wife.

Perhaps Putin is wearing the Russian version of that under this suit. Up until now, Putin has managed to invade Crimea and annex it without losing any soldiers. So far, he has done the same in Ukraine. The question is how he will respond if he starts seeing casualties. Russia can defeat Ukraine, but at what cost. Ukraine does not appear to be willing to roll over for Putin any time soon. Russia lost a lot of lives during World War II and the Russian people may not have much tolerance for losing more invading a country that is not arguably a threat to Russia. Will Putin stop short of starting a bloody war. We do not know. But we do know this, whatever Joe Biden predicts is probably the least likely outcome.

I am hardly a military strategist, but it just seems to me that the United States should have asked Putin a simple question. What price are you really willing to pay? For example, you now have 200,000 troops on the border of Ukraine. How many do you have on the border of Poland? Asking for a friend!

We in the midst of a new clear age. For the first time, in a long time, people see what is really going on and they are motivated to demand change. We already know that the big losers will be the Democrats who made this all possible. Now we are looking for the next group of winners.

When we first moved to Plover, Wisconsin, so I could attend the University of Wisconsin, Steven Point, we had less than no money. I had a 1964 Chrysler and no garage. This part of Wisconsin gets cold, very cold. This meant that starting your car in the morning was no sure thing. So, I bought the cheapest possible solution, an electric dipstick. In theory, this would warm the engine oil just enough so you might be able to actually start your ice-cold automobile. one could start your car.

My wife’s grandmother passed away on one of the coldest days imaginable. We had to drive to Milwaukee to catch a plane. It was in January 1972. I don’t remember the exact temperature, but in Minong, Wisconsin it was 51 degrees below zero and it was more than 40 degrees below zero in Plover. My electric dipstick failed miserably. When I tried to start the car, the only thing that happened was the dome light went out. I called a tow truck. He attached this enormous battery charger to the car. That got the dome light working, but nothing else. Then he tried to tow us, but the car’s transmission was frozen so he couldn’t move it. In desperation I called a friend, who owned a trucking company. He towed our car, with all four wheels skidding on the frozen tundra, behind a semi to his garage. Then he put a huge gas-powered space heater in position to warm up the car. After about an hour, we could finally start the car. We drove to Milwaukee and flew to the funeral in Buffalo, N.Y. While it was cold in Buffalo, famous for freezing weather, it was a lot warmer than Wisconsin.

When I got back home, I bought a block heater. That attached to the hose between the radiator and the engine. That worked. It would warm up the antifreeze which would warm up the engine. As long as I had a place to plug in my block heater, I could start my car.

Today, about 70% of the country is experiencing a severe cold wave. This is coincidental to talking heads warning us about global warming and rapidly rising sea levels. These are the same people who told us they would defeat COVID with lockdowns, vaccine, and mask mandates. That obviously did not work. The same people who tried to arrest a parent for pointing out that the school board was not wearing masks while lecturing parents who dare complain about children forced to wear masks. We have a Prime Minister in Canada who is treating truck drivers, protesting because of COVID restricts that made it almost impossible for them to do their job, as terrorists. Putin has already invaded the Ukraine, the only question is how much territory he will seize, this time. Biden is trying to manage this by pretending he is remotely capable of intimidating Putin. The economy is tanking, gas prices are soaring, there are more shortages and the truck drivers, who keep that supply chain moving, are on the verge of revolt. The defund the police movement has resulted in an enormous surge in crime. Things are so bad that BLM is angry at police officers for not being available to defend BLM members in Portland.

You can’t make this stuff up. It is not even necessary to exaggerate. The truth is more than enough. Then I realized what really happened.  We are trying to restart the economy with an electric dipstick. Frankly, based on recent results, an electric dipstick might be a significant upgrade.

“Even a blind squirrel finds an acorn once in a while.” I can’t begin to count the number of times I have heard someone say that. I have even used this myself to explain a golf shot that accidentally hits the target. It is a reminder that sometimes people we despise, with good reason, are actually right about an important subject. Today that person is District Attorney Chesa Boudin, who is making a mockery of the legal system in San Francisco. He campaigned on a promise to end mass incarceration, end cash bail, establish a unit to review wrongful convictions, to aggressively prosecute police misconduct and to refuse to cooperate with federal immigration and Customs Enforcement Officers. He de-emphasized the prosecution of drug cases and property offenses. The following article is obviously biased against Boudin, but we see a lot of this just by watching the news. Few would argue that San Francisco is a hot mess under his leadership.

Well now he dropped a bombshell accusation that a California crime lab used DNA collected from a rape kit to track down and charge the woman involved with a felony property crime. Some are concerned that this would cause some crime victims to refuse to come forward. While that is legitimate, the real problem is much larger. The federal government now has access to mountains of information. Part of that is from DNA samples submitted by people for perfectly innocent reasons. For example, Joseph DeAngelo, the Golden State Killer, was found because someone researched DNA submitted as part of a genealogy survey done by his relatives. Detectives used the similarity of the DNA to target DeAngelo. Then they got a sample of his DNA, and he was arrested and convicted.

Now no one would argue that convicting someone like the Golden State Killer is a bad idea. But the problem with good ideas is that they are sometimes used by evil people for very unacceptable reasons. Justin Trudeau in Canada is giving us an example of that, by using laws passed to stop terrorism to stop truckers from protesting his insane COVID restrictions.

Currently Canada is literally threatening to freeze bank accounts of Trump supporters. It is no longer a stretch to imagine how an out of control government could use private information to stifle any political opposition. Freezing the bank accounts of terrorist, good idea, freezing the bank accounts of anyone who disagrees with you, not so much.

I must reluctantly admit that in this case, Chesa Boudin has a point. He is wrong about almost everything else, but he is not wrong about this. It is an important reminder that even despicable people are somethings right. We must avoid being CNN who assumes that anything said by Donald Trump or anyone who supports him is a dangerous lie. There is a significant difference between the Canadian Government and our government. In Canada, if the House passes a vote of no confidence in the Prime Minister, he is removed from office. Here is how Reader’s Digest Canada described this in September of 2020:

It is important to note that while Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had a majority government in 2015, he does not now have a majority government. He won re-election in 2019 but did not get a majority government. Then, last year, he called a snap election held on September 20, 2021. He thought would give him that majority. He did remain if office, but he did not get a majority. That really matters. If the other parties unite to produce a no-confidence vote, he will be forced to resign and there will be another election. Based on his performance trying and failing to explain his insane plan to declare martial law, without the authority of parliament. He appears to be in real trouble. Several times he was literally shouted down.

We never see this in the U.S. Our constitution is great, but it here it is much harder to get rid of a President than it is for Canada to shred a Prime Minister. It sure looks like Trudeau is way over his skiis on this and I would not be surprised to see him go. One of the problems is that this was so unnecessary. The demands by the truckers were actually pretty reasonable, but Trudeau literally called them a fringe element, Nazis, and white supremacists. More importantly he let this escalate to the point where truckers felt forced to take drastic action. Then instead of listening and at least promising to reconsider, Trudeau arrogantly said he was following science and they were just naïve and stupid terrorists. That is dumber than Joe Biden bragging about putting a dead dog on a woman’s doorstep. Liberals thought this was hysterical. Most people probably think this is another Biden lie. But perhaps it would be worse if true, because it is not only stupid, but it also demonstrates a total disregard for everyone else. One could say that Biden’s solution to any problem is to dump it on someone else’s doorstep.

Even if Trudeau was right, he still botched this to a fair thee well. He put himself in a position where he had to either cave to the protests, or to take action that is simply unthinkable. He chose the latter. When you combine this with a lot of public support for these truckers, Trudeau responded in the worst possible way. He should have offered to meet with them, in exchange for removing he blockage. Then made some changes, claim he was planning to do this anyway, and take all the credit for the results. Instead, he basically made this a choice between them and him, and he just may be the one who loses.

Trudeau may not have figured this out, but politicians all over the United States and the world got the message. Democratic governors in blue states quickly moved to remove mask mandates to get ahead of this. Even here in California the mask mandates, for vaccinated people, ended last night. School mask mandates are scheduled to be removed in two weeks.

Thank you, Justin Trudeau. You did make the world a better place. Unfortunately, it happened only after bleeding Canada dry.

Most of us know next to nothing about the Ukraine. The term Ukraine actually means borderland or at the border. People have been fighting over this territory for centuries. Ukraine declared independence in 1918, after the Bolshevik Revolution, but Soviet troops took over in 1922 and Ukraine became part of Russia. In July 1990 Ukraine declared sovereignty and in August 1991, Ukraine was declared independent of the Soviet Union.

The big question right now is whether Vladimir Putin is prepared to have Russian troops invade Ukraine. Since he ordered the invasion of Crimea in February 2014, one should not assume that Putin is bluffing. The only thing certain is that Putin is unlikely to be concerned about opposition from the U.S. There is little evidence that President Joe Biden impresses Putin. Today Russia posted pictures of tanks allegedly leaving Belarus, but the pentagon says there is no evidence of a de-escalation.

One thing to remember is that Russia invading the Ukraine, while truly terrible, is not necessarily the worst-case scenario. It is quite possible that Vladimir Putin will get everything he wants, without having to actually fire a shot. That is certainly what Russia is reporting today:

“February 15, 2022, will go down in history as the day when Western war propaganda failed,” Maria Zakharova, the combative spokesperson of the Russian foreign ministry said on social media.

“They were humiliated and defeated without a single shot,”

History has taught us that giving in to terrorist demands, like those from kidnappers holding hostages, only results in more such threats. The world should have learned that lesson after the West tried, and failed, to appease Hitler.

Perhaps the worst-case scenario is that the Biden Administration caves, gives Putin everything he wants, and he invades anyway. It is hard to be optimistic when the National Security Advisor to President Biden is Jake Sullivan. Sullivan was a senior policy advisor to the Hillary Clinton campaign and her Deputy Chief of Staff at the State Department. The recent legal filings by John Durham seem to indicate that it was Jake Sullivan who pushed a Slate report “showing that the Trump Organization had a secret server register to Trump Tower that had been covertly communicating with Russia.”

This is a very scary situation and the least likely outcome is that the Biden Administration will handle this well.

Last night, while watching the local news, I was shocked to hear a report acknowledging that John Durham was reporting that Donald Trump was spied on by the Hillary Clinton campaign, at Trump Tower before the election and at the White House following the election. I knew this, of course, because I have been reading the reports from John Durham. But up until now, the MSM which devoted itself 24/7 to reporting on the Russian Collusion Hoax, has been deafeningly silent regarding this subject. There have been few reports even acknowledging that the Russian Hoax was a fraud, from start to finish, manufactured by the Clinton Campaign. I suspect part of the reason for the code of silence is that the MSM was a full throated partner in promoting this hoax.

But that local news station, like all local news stations, uses the network feed to report on national news, which means this was reported nationally. Today Devin Nunes is speaking about this on Newsmax. It is increasingly clear that this is a really big deal. It was bad enough that Hillary had the Trump campaign monitored. One will remember that Donald Trump talked about this during an interview and there was immediate pushback saying there was no evidence of that. Well, now there is evidence of exactly that and more. Not only is there evidence, but it is also from an impeccable source. But this story gets even worse. It turns out that the Clinton campaign may have spied on Trump, AFTER he was President. That would be a profoundly serious crime and even the MSM cannot ignore something like that.

This reminds me of when Bill Clinton ordered those bombing strikes on Iraq during his impeachment trial. Even Snopes admitted this was a true story:

I watched Ted Koppel when this happened, and he said one has to wonder whether the timing of this strike was because of an imminent threat or for pollical purposes. But we will not consider that, “because it would be unthinkable.” That kind of sums up the MSM coverage of Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, and Joe Biden. They all did things that should be considered unthinkable for a President of the United States. But the MSM just ignored this because they could not tolerate the possibility that a President of the United States would be capable of something like that unless his name is Donald Trump.

Well glory be, John Durham is filing legal documents saying that the Hillary Clinton campaign did spy on candidate and later President Donald Trump. It should be obvious that this would not have been possible without at least some assistance from the Obama Administration, and it is even possible that Obama knew or should have known about this.

This is nothing less than a break in one of the world’s biggest dam. The dam protecting Democratic Presidents from serious scrutiny by the MSM. A MSM that was so in love with the Democratic Party and their liberal policies that it could not bring itself to consider the possibility that they were doing things that were literally unthinkable. John Ratcliffe is one of the few people who really knows how this stuff works. That is why his comments should not be ignored. I have always been conflicted about John Durham. He just seemed to be moving awfully slow and one questioned whether he was even serious. However, the recent legal filings by him show that he may have moved slowly because he became aware of the gravity of his findings, so he wanted to be sure he had all his facts in order, and all completely documented.

I don’t expect the MSM to suddenly start doing responsible reporting now, particularly regarding Donald Trump. In addition, they are not known for admitting to their own negligence and complicity. But there are signs of cracks in that dam, and if it truly breaks, it will rock our world.

There have been demonstrations against the COVID regulations like lockdowns, mask mandates and vaccines all over the world. Up until recently, these have had negligible impact. That is because the government officials who ignored people when issuing these regulations continued to ignore those who rebelled. Australia has responded in the worst conceivable way and may even be risking a civil war. But up until now, governments have been successful in keeping ridiculous and unpopular regulations in play. The only weapon they needed was fear, facilitated by irresponsible reporting in the MSM. People were genuinely terrified because of reports by hysterical news broadcasters who were all drinking the same KoolAid. People who dared point out the obvious problems were quickly silenced as spreading dangerous misinformation.

All that changed when a bunch of truck drivers got together for a rally in Ottawa, Canada. At first the media and the government tried to ignore them. But that is no longer possible, because they have brought traffic and commerce to a halt in big parts of Ottawa. Now they have shut down the Ambassador bridge going from Windsor, Ontario to Detroit. That shuts down a significant amount of the commerce between the U.S. and Canada.

The response by Prime Minister Trudeau borders on insanity. First, he ran away and hid. Then he called the protestors a “fringe element.” Then he called them racists carrying confederate flags and Nazis. Unfortunately for him, when the media showed up on scene, they found mostly a party mood complete with pizza ovens. People all over Canada and the U.S. are showing support. GoFundMe collected tons of money and then tried to confiscate it. That is more likely to hurt GoFundMe than the truckers. It would be very unwise to underestimate the number of people who support those truckers, and they are cheering them on, if not sending money.

Either these truckers give up, or Trudeau takes drastic action. But it is going to be exceedingly difficult for the police to move all those trucks and those truckers certainly sound determined. If Trudeau to take drastic action like when Truman threated to draft all the railroad workers into the army, it is unlikely to work. The railroad workers worked for only a few employers; these guys are often independents who don’t work for anyone. If he tries to call in the military, claiming this is an insurrection, that could be catastrophic. So far, Trudeau has been focused on proving himself right, in demanding actions proven to not work. His lack of the leadership ability is becoming more apparent that Joe Biden’s senility.

It has been obvious, from the start, that many, if not most, of the COVID restrictions were unwarranted and not really based on science. Now everyone knows that the lockdowns, the mask mandates, and the vaccine mandates did not and will not work. People all over the world are so done with this. Government officials forgot something really important. If you are going to demand people follow your guidelines, you better make sure they work. They didn’t work. They not only didn’t stop COVID, but they may also have prolonged it.

There are now reports of truckers heading to LA to help with the Super Bowl traffic. That could become exciting. Does anyone really have faith in the leadership ability of Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti to deal with this?. Does anyone think the NFL can manage  this?

The real problem is that those truckers in Canada have figured out that they can literally shut the country down. No government can survive without consent of the governed. Some governments have managed to maintain control through brute force, but it is hard to imagine brute force being used against those truckers. If Trudeau tries to handle the truckers like the Chinese Communists handled Tiananmen Square, he will soon learn the difference between Canada and China.

As for me, right now, I just want them to keep on not-trucking until the people temporarily in charge of our government start listening.  We got us a CONVOY!

For longer than I care to admit, the news has been dominated by arrogant and ignorant people promoting nonsense supposedly based on the science. In many cases anyone who spends five minutes actually investigating their claims quickly notes the total lack of merit. In some cases, the warnings are patently absurd. In addition, few of the things proposed have any chance of working. What makes this worse is the obvious fact that so many people arrogantly lecturing the rest of us display flagrant hypocrisy on a daily basis.

But there is good news. More people are asking questions and pushing back against the narrative. Perhaps the best thing about COVID may be the death of “the illusion of following the science.” It is increasingly clear that virtually none of the drastic actions taken to defeat COVID came close to working. The lockdowns didn’t work. The mask mandates didn’t work. And while the vaccines do provide some level of protection, they clearly did not stop the spread of COVID. What makes this worse is that all this focus on things that did not and could not work, included spreading deliberate misinformation about things that actually did show promise. The usual suspects even slammed the potential for the vaccines that they now demand, because they were developed under the warp speed program implemented by Donald Trump. It was only when Joe Biden became President that these same vaccines miraculously became wonder cures.

Tragically, these same people trashed hydroxychloroquine, solely because it was “mentioned” by Donald Trump. Some people literally warned people not to take it because it will kill them. Many states banned the use of hydroxychloroquine unless the situation was beyond desperate. When people talked about Ivermectin the same class of clowns immediately pounced. They called this horse dewormer that couldn’t possibly work. Now I am hardly a spokesman for either of these, but there just seem to be multiple studies where people stupid enough to take these drugs miraculously recovered.

Well now people have had it. They are sick and tired of being scolded by world-class ill-informed hypocrites. There have already been people fighting back, with demonstrations all over the world. But the ruling class just managed to ignore them. Then a bunch of truckers showed up in Ottawa, Canada and basically shut things down. The ruling class is trying and failing to shut them up. But they don’t dare resort to their desired tactic of just arresting anyone who dares disagree with them. So, reluctantly, they are starting to negotiate. They have also gotten attention all over the world. Everywhere you look, COVID restrictions are quietly being shut down. Even here in California, if you are vaccinated you won’t need to wear a mask indoors after next Tuesday. If anyone thinks they are going to be able to require proof of vaccination, they should plan a trip to Australia and see how that is working out.

COVID is just the first in a lengthy list of stupid ideas based on the illusion of science. Next to fall is the global warming myth. If one has been paying any attention, it should have been a strong hint when “global warming” was changed to “climate change.” Five minute research would have shown that the earth wasn’t actually getting warmer and that the fear of global warming is used to justify the ridiculous. Let’s be honest here, the earth has been warming, slowly, since about 1600. Climate change is true but blaming it on the amount of CO2 in the air is absurd. Incredibly no real scientist even pretends that reducing CO2 levels over the next 100 years will actually change anything.

The people promoting this don’t believe it themselves. That is why they fly all over the world, on private jets, to caution the rest of us to reduce exhaling air to spare the planet. None of their predictions have come close to be true. Yet supposedly smart people are proposing we switch to all electric vehicles, ignoring the environmental disaster that would come from mining for and disposing of the rare earth minerals needed for all those batteries. In addition, no sane person really believes we can power our electrical grid with solar and wind power.

This reminds me of when I was on a sailboat, when we ran of wind. We also ran out of gas, so we were stranded several miles offshore. We called for assistance, and soon heard a stink boat (power by gas) respond by saying: “sailboat out of gas.” They then graciously showed up with enough gas to get us into port.

Science is golden, when it is true science, when it seeks the truth, when it willing embraces diverse opinions because sometimes the critics are right. But right now, it in increasingly obvious that those who lecture about following the science are often those who are personally incapable of even recognizing science. Science is golden, lying about following the science, not so much.

Most of us were surprised  to see the outstanding job report. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLM), the U.S. added 467,000 jobs, way above projections. I heard some reports of 600,000 new jobs. This was a shock, because previous job reports were astonishingly low, even during the traditionally peak Christmas period. How could this happen? What brilliant strategy did the Biden administration implement to get such results. The answer, sadly, is they lied.

It turns out that rather than gain new jobs, about 300,000 jobs were lost. According to the ADP, which counts people actually getting paid, “Businesses’ payrolls fell by 301,000 last month in a broad-based decline, according to ADP Research Institute data released Wednesday. The median forecast in a Bloomberg survey of economists called for a 180,000 rise.”

Some people instantly believed this report and celebrated. Even places like Fox News reported this as good news. But those of us living in the real world were skeptical for a lot of reasons. One is that every business is in desperate search of new hires. There are even tables in places like Safeway where someone can instantly apply for a job. We have all seen reports of people who just aren’t working. Sometimes because COVID restrictions prevent them from working. Sometimes because they just got used to not working.

I lived in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan for many years during my youth. We got a lot of snow. Snow can be incredibly beautiful. It is clean, and white, and it covers up things very well. But eventually the snow melts, and everything becomes visible again. Often things look much worse than they did before. That is why it is called “spring cleaning.”

In this case, at lease some of the snow will melt rapidly during the heat of the 2024 campaign. A campaign that has already started and which will become increasingly intense during the weeks and months ahead.

Ultimately, it doesn’t matter how many jobs the Biden Administration pretends to grow. What matters is how many people are actually working. The rosy picture the Biden Administration is trying to paint regarding our economy won’t matter if gas prices keep soaring, the cost of everything keeps going up, shelves are increasingly empty, and everyone is experiencing shared misery. If you combine that with serious international problems in Ukraine and possibly Taiwan, then this becomes truly explosive.

When Winston Churchill came to power he told people the cold, stark truth. During his first speech before parliament, he said the following:

“We are in the preliminary stage of one of the greatest battles in history…. That we are in action at many points—in Norway and in Holland—, that we have to be prepared in the Mediterranean. That the air battle is continuous, and that many preparations have to be made here at home.

I would say to the House as I said to those who have joined this government: “I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears and sweat”. We have before us an ordeal of the most grievous kind. We have before us many, many long months of struggle and of suffering.

You ask, what is our policy? I will say: It is to wage war, by sea, land and air, with all our might and with all the strength that God can give us; to wage war against a monstrous tyranny, never surpassed in the dark and lamentable catalogue of human crime. That is our policy. You ask, what is our aim? I can answer in one word: Victory. Victory at all costs—Victory in spite of all terror—Victory, however long and hard the road may be, for without victory there is no survival.

During challenging times, real leaders always emerge. Often, they are people we already ignore, just previously ignored. We are headed toward some rough waters. That is becoming increasingly obvious. But we are also headed toward a new spring. A time when the snow job will become impossible to ignore. A time when real leaders, with real solutions, will emerge. Spring can be the most beautiful time of the year.

Yesterday, the Biden administration looked it was in serious trouble. The approval ratings tanked, few people think the country is headed in the right direction, COVID fatigue is spreading faster than the virus and even the MSM is trashing them. But overnight several things happened that make this worse, much worse.

Jeff Zucker suddenly and unexpectedly resigned from CNN. The reason was that he had an undisclosed affair with a co-worker. But the real story here is that if this was not demanded by the Board of Directors, they certainly knew of this and approved of it.  I worked for several publicly held corporations and when the Board of Directors does something like this, significant change is on the way.

With Sen. Luján in the hospital after a stroke, Democrats have no Senate majority and can’t pass anything without GOP help (msn.com)

Democratic Senator Ben Ray Lujan’s office announced that he had a stroke and was undergoing surgery. While he may make a full recovery, as of right now, he is unable to perform the duties of his office. This means, that for now, Republicans have control of the Senate.

This is so obvious that even MSN noticed.

This strike matters more than you think. The following article from History Matters explains how Truman responded to the railroad workers strike. He went to congress and asked for authority to deny seniority rights to striker and to draft strikers into the Armed Forces. Then, and only then, was the strike settled.

Here is what Truman, a pro-labor Democrat, said about the situation:

“However, what we are dealing with here is not labor as a whole. We are dealing with a handful of men who are striking against their own government and against every one of their fellow citizens, and against themselves. We are dealing with a handful of men who have it within their power to cripple to entire economy of the nation.

I request temporary legislation to take care of this immediate crisis. I request permanent legislation leading to the formulation of a long-range labor policy designed to prevent the recurrence of such crises and generally to reduce the stoppages of work in all industries for the future.”

There is more, but this is more than enough. This is impossible to predict because even though of us who never thought Joe Biden to be remotely capable of being a good President, did not imagine this getting this bad, this soon and this obviously.

They aren’t fooling anyone anymore and many are forced, for the first time ever, to look in a mirror and see themselves as others see them. It has to be a frightening view.  All this happened in just hours, there is more to come, and drastic action is required. Action, that at least for now, requires the support of a United States Senate where, at least temporarily, Republicans are in control. The world changed, perhaps permanently, while you were sleeping.
