I was on a slow pitch softball team playing in Wisconsin. One of our team members was from Taiwan. Taiwan had just won the little league world series and looked domineering in the process. So, our manager decided that this man from Taiwan had to be a great soft ball player, right? He was promptly installed as our shortstop, a key position. There were just a couple of problems. One was that he could not catch the ball. Another was that he could not throw the ball. He also could not hit the ball and he was a slow runner. Our manager didn’t seem to notice because he was from Taiwan, right?
After a while, it became fun to watch, because this person never caught a single ground ball or pop-up during the entire season. He never threw anyone out. And he never got a base hit. I remember one at bat where there were two outs, and I hit a triple. While standing on third base, I saw that our hero was up to bat. I knew there was no hope. I was right. He struck out (remember this is SLOW pitch) on three pitches.
Kamala Harris chose to be interviewed by CNN. Then she chose the friendliest possible CNN personality, Dana Bash. Then she insisted on her VP candidate, Tim Walz, to sit next to her. What could possibly go wrong? The problem is that she was supposed to showcase her ability to be Commander in Chief. Instead, she looked tiny next to Tim Walz who towered over her. In addition, after being served up the easiest possible soft ball questions, probably given to her in advance, and the tape being highly edited, she still struck out. If Democrats were not concerned about the September 10th, 2024, debate, they should now be in pure panic mode. I wouldn’t be surprised if there was not some last-second emergency that would prevent her from participating.
In the meantime, there are some poll results that are just plain stunning. One is that 21% of registered Democrats in Pennsylvania have said they will vote for Trump. Every time someone asks black or Hispanic voters who they will vote for in November, a high percentage say Donald Trump. When the person questioning them tries to push back, they just laugh. Don Lemon can tell you all about this.
The bottom line is that this softball interview with questions pitched by the kindest possible person still was more than Kamala Harris could handle. If you can’t handle an interview by Dana Bash, selectively edited, with Tim Walz by your side for protection, how on earth can you handle someone like Vladimir Putin? In addition, few are even pretending that Kamala Harris looked “presidential.” A picture is worth a thousand words and a video is worth a million words.
Once again Democrats are so focused on stopping Donald Trump that they ignored the serious need to offer an alternative who at least appears to be capable of handling the job. Numerous reports show that Trump has gained support after this interview, the opposite of what Democrats wanted and needed.
Perhaps this is the reason Jack Smith filed, again, his ridiculous lawsuit against Donald Trump. Desperate people do desperate things and desperate people usually make enormous mistakes. We can expect the MSM to pretend this “interview” went great. That would not be accurate, even if one only read the transcript. However, if one actually watched this, this was beyond bad. The real problem with Kamala is Kamala. Even slow pitch soft ball questions are too fast for her to handle.
