Obama began by insulting World War II vets with idiotic decision to block them from their own memorial. Next he poured salt in the wound by making a personal exemption for illegal aliens to hold a rally at the National Mall. This is not just wrong, it is incredibly stupid.
Then the Department of Defense refused to pay the burial benefits for military personnel killed in action. Secretary Hagel tried desperately to blame Republicans, but no one bought that. The military pay legislation had passed in the House with strong bi-partisan support. It was specifically designed to fund the military. The outrage was instant and overwhelming. Congress voted 425 to 0 to authorize the funds. Now Obama is pretending he knew nothing about this. Even the standard Kool-Aid drinkers are having trouble choking that nonsense down.
Now, at the worst possible time, Moody’s delivered a public rebuke to Obama:

The following e-mail, being circulated on Capitol Hill, speaks for itself:
” We believe the government would continue to pay interest and principal on its debt even in the event that the debt limit is not raised, leaving its creditworthiness intact,” the memo says. “The debt limit restricts government expenditures to the amount of its incoming revenues; it does not prohibit the government from servicing its debt. There is no direct connection between the debt limit (actually the exhaustion of the Treasury’s extraordinary measures to raise funds) and a default.
Moody’s is the most respected financial analyst in the world. It is impossible to overstate the importance of this e-mail. They came, they saw, they listened to President Obama and responded with a BS warning.
This should have been obvious. The debt ceiling has nothing to do with defaulting on our debt. The only reason we would default on our debt is if President Obama made a deliberate decision to default. The United States has more than enough money to pay our debt, with or without raising the debt ceiling.
Obama is now hinting that he won’t be able to pay social security checks. He has now moved from stupid to suicidal. That would backfire faster than his decision to decline paying for the military funerals. He would immediately be confronted with bi-partisan legislation ordering him to pay social security checks. Obama has, once again, made a threat he is unwilling and unable to carry out.
If Republicans remain united and strong they will score a major victory. There are signs of seething anger toward Obama. When you combine that with the disastrous roll out of ObamaCare this is a political tsunami. Even CNN recognizes that ObamaCare is a huge failure. Today Blitzer recommended that Obama agree to a one year delay:
CNN’s Blitzer: Obama Should ‘Accept GOP Advice, Delay Obamacare’ Over Glitchy Websites
“A week into it, still a lot of glitches,” CNN correspondent Brian Todd reported to Blitzer. “People not able to create accounts, just to get information to possibly enroll, much less not being able to enroll in the plan.”
“We’re also hearing now that the administration was warned about these potential problems months in advance,” Todd continued. “We spoke to a health care consultant who has clients who are insurers. He says his insurers, who dealt with the administration in the months ahead of time, had contentious meetings with people at [Health and Human Services] and other health care officials who were in charge of this, warning them, ‘This isn’t working, it’s not going to be smooth, don’t do it.’ He says those warnings were ignored, they went full speed ahead, and said we’ll work these problems out. There’s been a bit of pushback from the White House, we’ll hope to get more later from them.”
“If they had three years to get this ready—if they weren’t fully ready, they should accept the advice that a lot of Republicans are giving them, delay it another year, get it ready, and make sure it works,” Blitzer said. “There are government health care-related websites that work great. Socialsecurity.gov, a whole bunch of others. They know how to do it. But if they didn’t get it ready on time, then maybe fix the problem, make sure people don’t have to worry about it.”
The only thing we have to fear is RINO Republicans riding in on clouds of political correctness to once again snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Even if one believes that Ted Cruz chose the wrong battle at the wrong time over the wrong issue, the simple fact is that he has Democrats on the run.
While the main stream media is pretending that Republicans are losing their resolve, it is actually Democrats who are showing signs of weakening. Senator Manchin, Democratic Senator from West Virginia personally called the Fisher Foundation to intervene and pay those funeral benefits because he was outraged by the failure of this administration. He didn’t call President Obama, he didn’t call Chuck Hagel and he didn’t call Harry Reid. He called a private foundation because he wanted results, not excuses. Harry Reid endured a humiliating encounter with the Mayor of DC who pointed out, correctly, that the irresponsible actions of this administration were preventing DC from spending its own money.

In the meantime, President Obama apologized, for the despicable Republicans who are forcing him to be irresponsible.
So the question to ask is very simple. Is this as bad as it seems? If the answer is yes, then President Obama is in deep political trouble. Perhaps Republicans did blunder into this battle, but so far it is Obama who is blowing it big time. No President has received such lofty treatment from the main stream media. They refused to even consider the remote possibility that he was anything other than the “Anointed One.” But the higher you rise the farther you have to fall. There are strong signals that Obama is on top of withering heights.
