This is entirely farcical. Governor Tim Walz and Mayor Jacob Frey are going all in on painting ICE as the modern-day gestapo. They are blaming everything, predictably, on Donald Trump. They are portraying ICE as out of control thugs willing to kill people indiscriminately. Sadly, this ridiculous position has been reinforced by far too many people in the MSM all too willing to promote an obviously false narrative.

At this point, if anyone is watching the MSM coverage of this sad situation, they may believe things that are clearly untrue. The result is that it looks like Trump has only bad choices. He can yield to this nonsense, and withdraw ICE from Minnesota, or he can risk making things worse by sending in federal troops. It is the ultimate lose-lose situation for Trump, exacerbated by the absolute unwillingness or incapacity of the MSM to even come close to reporting facts.

But the best laid plans of mice and men are often interrupted by things out of their control. In this case, the weather. It is cold in Minneapolis, I mean really cold. Like wind chills bordering on 40 degrees below zero tonight. I was raised in Upper Michigan. When it gets this cold, no one, stands around shouting nonsense trying and failing to get warm. At some point, they will go home. Even if they don’t want to, they will go home. This is not optional, because these temperatures are just impossible to endure.

My hunch is that President Trump has resources he can bring in overnight, and when the protestors try to rekindle things in the morning, they are going to find themselves confronted with a vastly different scenario. Trust me on this, Governor Walz and Mayor Frey will not be out there in this weather trying to stay warm. Neither will the Minneapolis police or the Minnesota State Police.

Frankly, the comments by Governor Walz and Mayor Frey are outrageous. They are the ones promoting the violence and the ones trying to exploit human tragedy for political purposes. They could not care less about the people who will get killed doing something stupid because they are encouraging dangerous and irresponsible behavior. They want tragedy. They want more deaths. They want more violence. They need more violence. They cannot win a fair and balanced debate. They have no cards. The hope is that people will be so outraged by the violence and human tragedy that they will foolishly blame everything on Donald Trump.

But there is a problem: This isn’t happening anywhere else. It didn’t happen in Washington, D.C. It didn’t happen in Memphis. It didn’t even happen in LA. It only happened in Minneapolis and even left-wing liberals in deep blue states and cities do not want this happening in their neighborhoods. While they may give traditional lip service to the usual suspects, behind the scenes they don’t what this happening in their backyard. No sane person wants this. We can be certain that most people in Minneapolis don’t want this.

But there’s a problem. Donald Trump is, well, Donald Trump and he doesn’t back down. It just isn’t in his DNA. He is not going to withdraw ICE from Minneapolis. He is going to let Governor Walz and Mayor Frey drown in their own sweat. While the MSM is desperately trying to spin this as anti-Trump and elevating Walz and Frey as modern day Davids fighting Goliath there’s a problem. One is that very few people trust the MSM anymore. Another is that other social media outlets are reporting significantly different facts. Finally, they are dealing with Donald Trump, who is unmatched at getting people to listen to him. Trump will find a way to get the right message out and when that happens, this will be devastating for anyone stupid enough to trust in people like Walz and Frey. He also has resources they can’t even imagine. That includes a real DOJ and a real FBI, who will not be deterred by local left-wing magistrates or liberal left juries. They have the facts, they have the evidence and they have the patience to put together a case that will withstand scrutiny. They also have the law clearly on their side. Those who do not understand this may work under the illusion that they are winning when, in fact, they are digging their own graves.

In the meantime, Trump doesn’t need to take immediate action. He can let these clowns shout protests in empty streets during freezing weather. Even the MSM is going to cut back on sending crews to cover these silly demonstrations. Trump, on the other hand, doesn’t have to do anything. He can just stay put, let his people stay comfortably indoors, and take the weekend off. By the time the weather changes, these protestors will be cold, exhausted and beyond frustrated. Screaming at the top of your lungs, when it is 40 below, when no one is listening is vastly over-rated.
