There is an old saying: “it is better to stay silent and have people think you are stupid than to open your mouth and prove it.” Comey made a huge mistake by testifying publicly under oath today and he is likely to pay a very high price for this mistake.

Democrats will interpret this meeting as proof Trump obstructed justice. The opposite is true.  If anything, this exonerated Trump. Republicans, sadly, will wait to see which way the wind is blowing before they make up their minds.  In reality this was nothing more and nothing less than a public “outgassing” by a pissed off former employee.

The main stream media missed the entire point.  They thought that Trump was going to respond by becoming defensive because Comey said Trump lied.  However, the only lie, according to Comey, was when Trump criticized Comey’s reputation at the FBI. Comey offered zero proof that anything Trump said was a lie, other than the obvious fact that Comey was insulted.

Trump sent out his attorney, Marc Kasowitz and it was the opposite of defensive.

He pointed out, correctly that Comey admitted that not only did Trump not impede the investigation, he said “it would be good to find out in that investigation if there were some satellite associates of his who did something wrong.” This is an admission under oath that Trump not only did not impede the investigation, he encouraged it.

Comey also admitted that he did tell Trump that he was not under investigation on at least three occasions and Comey knows of no current investigation of Trump.

But it gets worse. Comey testified to actions taken personally by him that may be a criminal act:

Today, Mr. Comey admitted that he unilaterally and surreptitiously made unauthorized disclosures to the press of privileged communications with the President.  The leaks of this privileged information began no later than March 2017 when friends of Mr. Comey have stated he disclosed to them the conversations he had with the President during their January 27, 2017 dinner and February 14, 2017 White House meeting.  

Comey has now turned over his notes to the Special Prosecutor.  That is an admission under oath that he considered these to be privileged conversations that should be handled appropriately.  He can’t both give his notes to the press and then claim they can only be entrusted to a Special Counsel.

It gets even worse,  Kasowitz provided evidence that Comey lied under oath:

Today, Mr. Comey admitted that he leaked to friends his purported memos of these privileged conversations, one of which he testified was classified.  He also testified that immediately after he was terminated he authorized his friends to leak the contents of these memos to the press in order to “prompt the appointment of a special counsel.”  

Although Mr. Comey testified he only leaked the memos in response to a tweet, the public record reveals that the New York Times was quoting from these memos the day before the referenced tweet, which belies Mr. Comey’s excuse for this unauthorized disclosure of privileged information and appears to entirely retaliatory.  We will leave it the appropriate authorities to determine whether this leaks should be investigated along with all those others being investigated. 

Finally he drove a nail into the Comey coffin:

In sum, it is now established that there the President was not being investigated for colluding with the or attempting to obstruct that investigation.  As the Committee pointed out today, these important facts for the country to know are virtually the only facts that have not leaked during the long course of these events.

Kasowitz made a crucial point.  The only thing that wasn’t leaking out of the Russia investigation was the FACT that no one was investigating Donald Trump and he wasn’t obstructing any investigation.  CNN may not understand that, but my guess is that the American people will.

I don’t think we will see much of James Comey for some time, because he is about to lawyer up and the first thing any smart legal counsel will do is tell him to shut up.

The Senate Judiciary Committee sent a bi-partisan letter to Comey asking him to answer seven questions and to provide his notes regarding his conversations with Trump and others.  Comey refused because he “is a private citizen.  That makes no sense.  In my opinion, it is very close to Comey refusing to answer the questions based on the 5^th amendment.  It totally destroys his credibility.

Comey also refused to testify in closed session.  One has to ask why?  We already know Comey loves the spotlight.  But perhaps another reason is that testifying publicly allows Comey to decline to answer questions he doesn’t like because of “classified information.”

Comey has already testified, under oath, that Trump did not interfere with the Russian investigation.  If he thought Trump was obstructing justice and he didn’t inform congress, he committed a crime.  The best he can say now is that upon further reflection, he now believes Trump was trying to influence him.  If he says that at least one Senator is going to ask him about those memos.

Comey also has another problem.  He was fired on May 9^th.  Less than one month later, the FBI has already arrested someone for leaking classified information.  This begs the question: why didn’t this happen while Comey was director of the FBI.  The leaking of the Michael Flynn conversation was a crime.  Comey never seemed interested.  He was so obsessed with seeking the Russian collusion rainbow that he ignored the clear and present danger to national security going on under his nose. The Washington Post and the New York Times reported that the real reason Trump fired Comey was because he would not investigate leaks of classified information.  Based on the arrest yesterday, it looks like Trump got it right.

I predict the hearing will be a major bust.  Comey will say very little and he will be caught in numerous contradictions.  He will spend more time avoiding questions than giving answers.  The main stream media, in their lust for a bombshell are likely to grossly exaggerate the slightest hint that Trump might be investigated for something.  For example Comey is very likely to refuse to answer a question because it involves an ongoing criminal investigation.  The main stream media will assume that means Trump, because they want to believe that.  That will, of course, be nonsense, but this is what we have learned to expect whenever Comey opens his mouth.

In the meantime more and more people, in both political parties, want both James Comey and Hillary Clinton to do the same thing.  Sit down, shut up and go away.

Both Kathy Griffin and Hillary Clinton self-destructed on national TV this week.  It is unlikely that either can even hope to recover.

It was hard to imagine anything more stupid than Kathy Griffin posing with Donald Trump’s severed head covered with blood.  Yet she accomplished the impossible with her press conference today.  She literally tried to blame this on the Trump family for “overreacting.”  No one is buying that.  Even Al Franken threw her overboard.  This press conference was so bad I suspect the Secret Service will be meeting with her to discuss a few things.   I don’t think Kathy Griffin is a serious threat to Donald Trump or anyone else, but she is certainly a threat to Kathy Griffin.

Then there was the meltdown by Hillary Clinton.  They say that absence makes the heart grow fonder.  That has never been more true than in regard to Hillary Clinton.  If she had just stayed home and shut up, the liberal left would still be fawning over her.  But when she tried to explain how Russia stole the election she just exposed this as delusional nonsense.  John King literally laughed about Russia covering up Wisconsin so Hillary couldn’t campaign there.

Carter Page has now demanded that he be allowed to testify in a public setting.  It is going to be hard for the Intelligence Committees to say no when they agreed to this with regard to James Comey.

Now that Comey is gone, the attorneys for Carter Page have been in contact with Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, Special Counsel Robert Mueller and other DOJ officials regarding the multiple outstanding requests for immediate release of “illegitimate” FISA warrants that were allegedly filed by the Obama administration in 2016.  They wouldn’t do that unless they already know what is on those FISA warrant applications.

It is clear that there never was just cause to investigate the Trump campaign. To put this in perspective, listen to the testimony by Brennan.  What is missing is a legitimate reason to request a FISA warrant on someone connected with a Presidential campaign during an election:

The Seth Rich case has not gone away.  Kim Dotcom sent a letter to Robert Mueller volunteering to testify with regard to Seth Rich.   Hmmmmm.  The attorney representing the Seth Rich family has sued the Washington D.C. Metropolitan Police Department to release its file regard this murder.  The only thing certain, at this point, is that there are more questions than answers.

Sean Hannity was back on the air last night and he hammered the main stream media.  USAA forgot that when you sell insurance to military and veterans they are unlikely to choose Rachel Maddox over Sean Hannity.  USAA stopped running ads on Hannity and kept running them on Maddox.  The backlash was enormous and USAA quickly caved.  Hannity didn’t exactly let them off the hook.  It is rare for a news commentator to criticize a sponsor, but Hannity did exactly that last night.  He was sending a message.

Meanwhile, Scott Pelley, the CBS anchor on a mission to destroy Trump, was fired.  He wasn’t even allowed to “go on vacation.”  They cleaned out his desk while he was away on assignment for “60 Minutes.”  This is more than a firing, this is being publicly humiliated.

The news coverage has turned the page and soon the focus will be less on whether or not there was collusion and more on why so many people fell for such a stupid and implausible story in the first place.

There are four stages to recovering from a traumatic event: denial, anger, depression and acceptance. Liberals confronted with the trauma of President Donald Trump are caught in a Ground Hog day cycle of denial.  They cannot bring themselves to acknowledge the fact that Donald Trump is President of the United States, so they engage in fantasy after fantasy in a desperate search for a different tomorrow.  They have literally become insane and as a result they are making irrational choices with long term deadly consequences.

This reminded me of the Panama Canal and the problem with Yellow Fever.  Carlos Juan Finlay, a doctor from Cuba, figured out that Yellow Fever was spread by mosquitos.  The medical establishment did not take him seriously.  The French literally lost thousands of people because they could not bring themselves to believe Finlay.  Major Walter Reed, yes that Walter Reed, showed up in Panama with an assignment to investigate the cause of Yellow Fever.  Finlay met with Reed and tried to convince him to kill the mosquitos.  Reed was skeptical, but at least he decided to test Finlay’s theory.  He needed volunteers so he started with Spanish immigrants figuring they would be unlikely to be immune, they were desperate for money and if they died it wouldn’t matter all that much.  Incredibly American Soldiers were pissed that they were denied the chance at glory, so they volunteered too.  One group of volunteers was locked up for 20 days in a poorly ventilated building full of clothes and sheets saturated with the blood of people who died from yellow fever.  These incredibly stupid folks actually survived, since this Garden of Eden didn’t include any mosquitos.  In another building he put in one volunteer in a room with 15 mosquitos that had bit yellow fever patients and another room with no mosquitos.  The guy that got bit by the mosquitos predictably died hard.

It still wasn’t enough.  They tried fixing the problem by injecting people with blood from yellow fever patients who had miraculously survived.  Those people stupid enough to volunteer for this program quickly died.  Eventually they followed Finlay’s original advice and killed the mosquitos.  Yellow fever went away.

It seems obvious that the liberal left’s approach to defeating Donald Trump was copied from the French and American playbook on how to defeat yellow fever.  I predict similar results.  Donald Trump is and will be President for the next four years or more, if Democrats are lucky.  If something happens to Donald Trump or a member of his family as the result of some crazed lunatic inspired by liberal lies, the backlash will literally destroy the last remaining shreds of the late great Democratic Party.  If they find some other excuse to get rid of Trump, welcome President Mike Pence who makes Donald Trump look like a flaming liberal in comparison.

In the meantime someone is consistently leaking highly classified information to the main stream media and they are rushing to report it.  This was great fun when it could be used to embarrass Donald Trump.  Now this have blown up in their face.  CNN is routinely reporting highly classified information regarding the Manchester terrorist attack.  Great Britain is royally pissed because this is hampering their ability to stop the next terrorist attack.  This is the same CNN that brutally criticized Trump for allegedly telling Russia secrets about how terrorist attack airliners.  By carelessly releasing this classified information the entire main stream media is openly aiding and abetting terrorists.  Whether this is done deliberately or solely because of stupidity the result is the same.  The response of Great Britain not only gives Trump cover for going after the leakers, it frankly demands that he go after them.  Attorney General Jeff Sessions is already on it and there is no way the main stream media can spin this as some vague attempt by Trump to silence critics.  Game on!

There are rumors that the White House has already identified some of the leakers and is preparing to take action.  Watch for entertaining videos of people led off in hand-cuffs.  This story is about to go nuclear and a whole lot of self-righteous liberals will be desperately seeking to distance themselves from this nightmare.  This is what happens when people are too stupid to realize that when you resist a duly elected President of the United States you endanger all of us.  Like I said, results a lot like the French attempt to defeat yellow fever.

The truth is always elusive, but perhaps we now know the real reason Democrats have been pushing so hard on a ridiculous Trump helped Russia Steal the Election” myth. Remember when the intelligence community allegedly said that Russia hacked the DNC servers. That would be the same intelligence agencies we now know were definitely running surveillance on people in the Trump campaign. Everyone ignored the huge red flags telling us to be very suspect of this conclusion for a lot of reasons.

Someone hacked the DNC, but it almost certainly was not Russia intelligence. This should be obvious, even to liberals. If, and that is a big if, Russia had hacked the DNC server, they would have left no trail and they would have been more likely to use the information to blackmail Hillary then to merely embarrass her. During World War II Great Britain had broken the German Enigma code. They learned that there was going to be a raid of Coventry. The decision was made to order no evacuation or give any advance warning. If the Germans were confronted with evidence that Great Britain had broken the Enigma code, they would have certainly changed it. That could have literally altered the course of history. When the intelligence agency of a country like Russia hacks your computer, they are extremely unlikely to leave a trace. That is the whole point.

For example, Russia almost certainly hacked Hillary’s e-mails but, as James Comey testified, we would never know for sure because they would have erased their tracks. Then we are led to believe the same people hacked the DNC e-mails, which they considered to be irrelevant, left bread crumbs proving they were responsible and leaked the information to WikiLeaks. If Comey really believed that he was too stupid to be Director of the FBI.

Now, after several months of work, a private investigator claims to have proof that Seth Rich was in contact with WikiLeaks. In other words he did the investigation that James Comey should have been doing rather than looking for the Russian hacking unicorn. To make things worse, we may have a real hacker going public, saying he (or she) can prove that Seth Rich was leaking DNC e-mails to WikiLeaks and is willing to testify before congress.

This anonymous source may be a dud, but the Seth Richard’s bomb is still about to go off. Congress and the main stream media may still ignore the story, but the DOJ is run by Jeff Session, not Loretta Lynch and odds are someone capable is going to get this assignment.

When you think about it, the docs leaked by the person who hacked into the DNC did not reveal any national secrets; they just showed that the DNC is full of lunatic self-righteous jerks openly colluding with the press. Most of the people who voted for Donald Trump already knew this about Hillary Clinton and the DNC. Why would we be surprised to learn that a DNC staff member, treated like crap by these people would be motivated to leak this to WikiLeaks? Maybe he wasn’t trying to elect Trump; he was just trying to warn people about the DNC scum pond.

One can learn a lot by listening to what people say and sometimes what they don’t say.  Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein briefed the Senate.  All of the Senators who commented said the briefing was serious.

Democrats were not exactly singing Rosenstein’s praises after this briefing.  All he told them is that Trump is not personally under investigation, he has no evidence of any interference with the Russian involvement in the election and by the way, this is now a criminal investigation.

Don’t assume that Mueller will spend much if any time investigating alleged collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.  The only justification for investigating this is as a counter intelligence operation.  No one has even alleged anything even hinted at remotely resembles a crime.  CNN make think it’s a crime that Donald Trump beat Hillary Clinton, but causing indigestion on the part of liberals is not the legal definition of a crime.  Alan Dershowitz figured this out and he is very frightened:

“It would not be criminal, even if it happened, for the Trump campaign to have collaborated with the Russians in an effort to get their candidate elected. It would have been wrong but not criminal.”

Dershowitz goes on to admit that NOTHING Trump has done is even potentially a crime.  Then he writes the following:

“A special counsel has a very different goal: deciding whether to prosecute particular individuals. At this point in our history, learning the truth may be more important than prosecuting questionable cases” 

In other words, Mueller was hired to prosecute people suspected of a crime.  The only crime we know of right now is the leaking of the phone call between Michael Flynn and the Russian Ambassador.  I doubt that Mueller was brought in to prosecute Michael Flynn for anything.  The FBI could have done that and no one in either party would have said a word.  So, odds are that Mueller was brought in to investigate someone or something so toxic that Rosenstein felt a Special Counsel was required.

Mueller can and will tell congressional hearings to back off because they are interfering with a criminal investigation.  That is how Eric Holder got congress to back off on investigating Fast & Furious.  He is not going to be holding press conferences; he is going to be empaneling secret grand juries and conducting a criminal investigation.  People who have been illegally leaking classified information to the press should be very afraid.  People who leaked the names of U.S. citizens illegally unmasked because of counter-intelligence surveillance programs would be wise to lawyer up.  There are a lot of people who should be very afraid.  I doubt that very many of them had any connection to the Trump campaign.

I don’t know who made the decision to appoint Robert Mueller to be special counsel, but this may be the best thing that could have happened.  It is clear that Democrats were determined to destroy Trump with the help of leaks from people within the administration.  This was never going to end.  The Russia investigation was never going to end.  The appointment of Robert Mueller has put this on a very different path.  He has strong bi-partisan support and a deserved reputation as a straight shooter

While Democrats and the main stream media will vocalize loud dreams of impeachment, in reality this appointment makes it nearly impossible to impeach Trump.  You can’t impeach a President before the special counsel completes his investigation.

Once again, Trump nailed it on twitter.  Of course the main stream media totally missed the point.

“With all the illegal acts that took place in the Clinton campaign & Obama Administration, there was never a special counsel appointed.”

 “This is the single greatest witch hunt of a politician in American history!”

“As I have stated many times, a thorough investigation will confirm what we already know – there was no collusion between my campaign and any foreign entity.”

Democrats and the main stream media will shriek about these tweets, but they weren’t aimed at the biased main stream media.  They were aimed at the American people and I think they will understand.

Everything Trump wrote is completely accurate and appropriate.

If nothing else, this should buy Trump time.  He clearly needs to clear house and get rid of everyone in his administration who feels it is his or her patriotic duty to leak information that is damaging to this President.

The Republican talking points just became very easy. “You wanted a special counsel and you got one, so shut up. Robert Mueller is an excellent choice for the position. Now is the time to let him do his job without interference from either side.”

We all better hope that Mueller gets this right. A thorough honest investigation by a special counsel may be exactly what is required to drain the DC swamp.

The main stream media thinks they have Trump cornered.  They certainly have a lot of RINOs terrified.  Don’t they have a smoking gun that will remove Trump from office?  Isn’t the email from Jim Comey proof that Trump tried to obstruct justice?  To the main stream media, this is obvious.  But keep in mind that the main stream media is ALWAYS wrong.

Trump is not a man who takes these things lightly.  He has a long history of responding to lawsuits with countersuits by better lawyers.  Trump knows the law and he knows what to do.  The law is totally on his side.

If Comey testifies that he interpreted Trump’s actions as obstruction of justice, then he broke the law.  The only thing he can say is that, now, in retrospect he views that conversation more seriously.  In other words, obstruction only matters if he is fired.  He has no chance of surviving that line of questioning and there are Republicans on those panels that are more than capable of doing the job.

But there’s more.  If Comey is painted as overlooking obstruction of justice, then Republicans should subpoena all his e-mails regarding conversations with Eric Holder, Loretta Lynch and Barrack Obama.  My hunch is that there are a lot more smoking guns there.

One question I would ask James Comey is why he didn’t inform congress, as required, that he considered Loretta Lynch to be obstructing justice.  If he did not believe that, then he has no grounds for his press conference regarding Hillary Clinton.  He if knew about that meeting, how did he know.  Even if he only learned this from the press, he definitely considered this to be a signal event.  Either way, Comey has some explaining to do.

This strategy by liberal Democrats worked with Richard Nixon, because he really didn’t fight back.  Trump is not Richard Nixon.  He will fight back.  He will fight back even if it destroys himself in the process.

In the meantime, once again, Democrats are willing to do major damage to the country to get rid of a President they despise.  Last time it cost us the Vietnam War, international humiliation, double digit inflation and double digit unemployment and double digit interest rates.  Democrats were rewarded with the Presidency of Jimmy Carter who lowered the national speed limit to 55, boycotted the Moscow Olympics and told America its best days were behind us.

The bottom line is that if Democrats win this one, we all lose.  The problem is that this time a Ronald Reagan may not be enough to repair the damage.

Do you remember the last time Donald Trump had to walk back a tweet because it contained inaccurate information?   Having a hard time remembering? Trump is famous for sending out tweets that other people ridicule for being mean, insulting and irrational. While Democrats routinely accuse him of lying, just for expressing an opinion, I can’t recall a single instance where a tweet was actually “corrected.” We know that Trump doesn’t actually write all his tweets, he has a small handful of people who are “authorized” to tweet on his behalf. They aren’t paid to make factual errors.

CNN viewed the following tweet as a thinly veiled threat to Comey. Actually it is a promise, to both CNN and the ranting mainstream media and there is nothing thin about it.

“When James Clapper himself and virtually everyone else with knowledge of the witch hunt, says there is no collusion, when does it end.”

Trump has the facts. He fired Comey. The liberal left has no facts and they also don’t have the law. They are just pounding. What Oliver Wendell Holmes left out of his quote is that while it feels good to pound, you almost never win the case.

I think sooner rather than later, the American people are going to get sick of the pounding and start to ask: “where’s the beef.” The more obvious it becomes that there is no beef, the more damage liberals will be doing to the Democratic Party.
