Hoảng Loạn

Panic did not seem to be a strong enough word to describe the liberal left today.  So, I used a Vietnamese word that is more exact.  Hoảng means panic-stricken -frightened out of one’s wits. Loạn means to be in disorder and confused.  Translated, liberals are scared Schiffless and making huge mistakes.

Devin Nunes wrote a memo.  Republicans who have seen it describe it as a bombshell.  Previously liberals and the main stream media just ignored facts that didn’t fit the narrative.  James Comey said Hillary Clinton was “extremely careless” regarding classified information.  The MSM just yawned.  Hillary’s campaign paid for the Russia Dossier.  So what?  Russia contributed millions to the Clinton Foundation and paid Bill Clinton $500,000 for a speech just prior to the Uranium One deal.  Why would anyone consider this evidence of collusion between Russia and Hillary Clinton?  No one disputed any of these, they just decided it didn’t matter.

That is what I expected this time.  I thought Nunes would release his memo, the MSM would yawn and ask: “is this all there is?” So what if the FBI tried to stop Trump from becoming President?  Liberals would consider that an act of patriotism.

This time, however, they switched gears.  They, actually Adam Schiff, decided this Nunes memo is so terrible it must never be seen by the American Public.  Schiff is engaged in a desperate Don Quixote type campaign to block you and anyone else from seeing this memo.  He fears this more than the black plague.  He tried desperately to prevent the intelligence committee from even seeing the docs used to write this memo.  He clearly was caught off guard. That is because Nunes set up a Republican only team to review the evidence Schiff wanted to ignore.  Nunes learned the hard way that he could not trust democrats on the Intelligence Committee and he sure couldn’t trust Adam Schiff.  Based on the way Schiff is acting now, Nunes was obviously right about that.

The problem is that Schiff’s Shtick struck out.  While CNN, and the rest of the MSM bought this hook, line and sinker, the people who matter didn’t.  If anything, the clear panic now on display only encourages the Trump administration to make this memo public.  It does more than that.  It puts the MSM in a position where they cannot just ignore this.  They can, and will, try to discredit it, but they can’t ignore it.  Hence the problem.  If there is anything close to a serious investigation regarding weaponization of the FBI and our intelligence agencies for political purposes; then a mountain of incriminating information is likely to surface.  This just may be accompanied by a MSM feeding frenzy we haven’t seen in years.  A lot of FBI agents you never heard of will become whistleblowing media stars.  The MSM will experience unprecedented embarrassment that they have bought and reported on so many patently absurd allegations.  They are likely to respond with absolute fury.  This could get very ugly. Or, if you’re like me, this may turn out to be a beautiful thing.

GOOD NIGHT SCHIFF

Yesterday I was at the gym, watching Fox News.  Right next to that TV was one showing Anderson Cooper on CNN.  It was so bad that I couldn’t resist watching.  Adam Schiff was in full attack mode and Anderson Cooper was drinking in the Kool-Aid.

Here is an example of what Schiff said:

“It’s a really disgraceful act, in my view, to make partisan and political the declassification process, and I think it’s what you see when you have a flawed president infecting the whole of government.  It’s apolitical.  This is a continuation of the effort to protect the president’s hide.”

I couldn’t help but note the extreme bias toward Donald Trump followed by sanctimonious whining about partisan politics.  Does even Schiff believe what he says anymore?

Schiff said that Nunes had not read all the details behind the controversial secret memo.  Schiff said that Nunes ”cherry-picked” information without reading all the source material.  The committee received mountains of evidence.  It is ludicrous to expect Nunes to read every single document.  What Schiff did not say was that Nunes had any facts wrong.

CNN:  SCHIFF:  REPUBLICANS ON HOUSE INTEL COMMITTEE VOTE TO RELEASE CONTROVERSIAL MEMO ON FBI, REFUSE TO RELEASE OPPOSING MEMO WRITTEN BY DEMOCRATS.

Schiff neglected to tell Cooper that he had refused to let Republicans read his memo.

Next headline:

SCHIFF:  GOP HAS VOTED TO “POLITICIZE” INTELLIGENCE; WE HAVE CROSSED A DEEPLY REGRETTABLE LINE.”

This is ironic when the memo documents the FBI misusing intelligence to interfere with a presidential campaign.  Apparently one only cross the line if one is critical of Democrats.

This caused me to wonder how many times Schiff can burn CNN with utter nonsense before they stop taking the bait.  The next guest on Anderson Cooper was a Republican and he immediately discredited most of what Schiff said.

FBI Director Christopher Wray viewed this memo and there are reports he was outraged.  That seems to be true, because less that 12 hours later Andrew McCabe was shown the door. Wray did not dispute any facts, he just asked for the opportunity to have additional staff review the information.  Perhaps people like Andrew McCabe were telling Wray he needed to trust them only to have Wray discover, the hard way, that he couldn’t trust them at all.

All you really need to know is this.  Republicans want to release the memo and all the supporting documentation.  Democrats want to suppress the memo and to block release of supporting documents.  It is easy to see who has the facts and who is terrified of the facts.

It looks like this is all going to be put on public display, sooner rather than later.  If Republicans are right, Adam Schiff has been full of Schiff from day one in a deliberate attempt to obfuscate and confuse.  If CNN also realizes they have been had, we could see: GOOD NIGHT SCHIFF.  That would be a beautiful thing.

RES IPSA

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Res_ipsa_loquitur

In the common law of torts, res ipsa loquitur (Latin for “the thing speaks for itself”) is a doctrine that infers negligence from the very nature of an accident or injury in the absence of direct evidence on how any defendant behaved. Although modern formulations differ by jurisdiction, common law originally stated that the accident must satisfy the necessary elements of negligence: duty, breach of duty, causation, and injury. In res ipsa loquitur, the elements of duty of care, breach and causation are inferred from an injury that does not ordinarily occur without negligence:

What we currently know:

Devin Nunes wrote a four page memo summarizing the findings by Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee regarding alleged abuse of FISA warrants.  For months Republicans met, without any Democratic participation, because they clearly do not trust Democrats on the committee, particularly Adam Schiff.

Adam Schiff sued to prevent his own committee from getting access to the documents.  Now he is trying to prevent disclose of the memo.  He is also allegedly writing his own version of events.

This memo has been made available to every member of the House, in a secure facility.  Nearly every Republican has viewed this memo.  Only have handful of Democrats have bothered. Almost everyone who has actually seen the document has described it as shocking and jaw dropping.

There are numerous reports that at 5:00 p.m. today the House Intelligence Committee will vote to release this memo.  President Trump is not expected to resist release of this memo.

Yesterday, FBI Director Christopher Wray viewed this document in a secure facility on Capitol Hill.  He was asked if any of the information was incorrect.  Wray said he would want this reviewed by the FBI, but he did not point out any obvious errors.

Today, Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe resigned effective immediately and left FBI headquarters.  He will use his vacation day to get paid up until March, so he can retire with full benefits.  Is this a coincidence?

The main stream media that wants to believe McCabe, who is as pure as the driven snow, resigned because Trump said mean things about him on twitter.

Every single senior FBI official serving under James Comey when he was fired has now been removed from power.  CNN wondered if this was because of pressure from Trump, ignoring the fact that these people were removed because of conflicts of interest documented in their own e-mails and text messages.

RES IPSA

“The thing speaks for itself.”  That will become more obvious, starting today.

AS THE WORM TURNS

We are once again reminded that the President of the United States knows things we don’t know.  Most people ignored a public comment by Donald Trump recently:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/trump-says-he-would-speak-to-mueller-under-oath-in-russia-investigation/2018/01/24/edb33750-015a-11e8-8acf-ad2991367d9d_story.html?utm_term=.5eb39bbcb926

“oh, well, did he fight back?  You fight back, Oh it’s obstruction.”

I watched a panel on CNN, accidently, for about five minutes while working out at the club.  I learned about this comment by Trump from Jeffrey Tobin.  Tobin has been one of the fiercest critics of Trump.  In May 2017, Tobin exploded with outrage because Trump fired James Comey:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/trump-says-he-would-speak-to-mueller-under-oath-in-russia-investigation/2018/01/24/edb33750-015a-11e8-8acf-ad2991367d9d_story.html?utm_term=.5eb39bbcb926

“a grotesque abuse of power by the president of the United States.  This is the kind of thing that goes on in non-democracies.”

Last night Tobin was clearly shocked when he reflected on this comment by Trump.  It was like he understood, for the first time, that Trump has a legitimate point.  The liberal left is quick to believe anything that fits within their narrative.  In May 2017, James Comey was the shining knight trying to deal with an irresponsible president.  Tobin probably believed there had been collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.  Today, even Jeffrey Tobin would not attempt to defend that narrative.  Instead Tobin is confronted with mounting evidence that James Comey was Director of an FBI that was trying to overthrow a U.S. President.  The only real question is whether Comey was complicit or was merely incompetent.  All the things being documented by the numerous investigations took place while Comey was in charge.  Trump not only had a right to fire Comey, he may have had a duty to fire Comey.

We do not know what information Trump had available when he fired Comey.  He only mentioned the letters from Rosenstein and Sessions supporting his decision.  There is a lot we don’t know and a lot we will never.  We do know this.  Trump said he was justified because he was fighting back.  He said he was looking forward to talking, under oath, with Robert Mueller. In most cases, this type of interview is a perjury trap because the Special Counsel knows things you don’t know.  But this time the opposite may be true.  Trump may know things that Mueller doesn’t know.  He may have documentation Mueller has never seen.

http://screenny.com/in-letter-doj-tells-devin-nunes-releasing-memo-would-be-extraordinarily-reckless/

We know that the FBI is desperately pleading to see the memo from Nunes.  This means the FBI does NOT know what information is in those House Intelligence Committee files.  Assistant Attorney General Stephan Boyd said: “Indeed, we do not understand why the committee would possibly seek to disclose classified and law enforcement sensitive information without first consulting with the relevant members of the intelligence community.”

The response from the House Intelligence committee was that they cannot trust the FBI.  The FBI has been stonewalling congress on numerous requests for documents for months and just recently said they had accidentally failed to preserve thousands of critical text messages.  If news reports are accurate, someone found those messages almost instantly when Attorney General Jeff Sessions ordered an investigation.

The are always three sides to every political story.  The Republican version of events, the Democratic version of events, and the truth.  This time we know who is trying to release information and who is trying to block the release of information.  That should be a gigantic hint over who has facts supporting their case and who does not.

MUELLERING IT OVER

The FBI just discovered that it is missing all the texts between Peter Strzok and Lisa Page for the period from December 14, 2016 to May 17, 2017.  At this point everyone is wondering what the FBI is hiding.  No one is commenting on something very important.  The December 14, 2016 date was when Obama appears to have ordered an investigation into Russian interference regarding the 2016 Presidential election.  That Investigation was assigned to the FBI.  The people involved were James Comey, Andrew McCabe, Kevin Rybicki, Peter Strzok, Lisa Page, Bruce Ohr, Bill Priestap and others.  These people worked closely together on the top floor at the FBI.

James Comey was fired on May 9th, 2017.  President Donald Trump met with Robert Mueller on May 16, 2017.  Rod Rosenstein appointed Robert Mueller to be special counsel on May 17, 2017.

Almost immediately, someone at the FBI began collecting text messages between Peter Strzok and Lisa Page again.  One of the most explosive texts that has been publicly reported was sent by Peter Strzok on May 19, 2017:

“You and I both know the odds are nothing.  If I thought it was likely, I’d be there no question.  I hesitate in part because of my gut sense and concern that there’s no big there there.”

Peter Strzok was part of the Russia investigation before Mueller was appointed.  He clearly was hesitating to join Mueller’s investigation because he feared it wouldn’t lead to the coveted impeachment of Donald Trump.

Are you sure that Mueller was appointed to investigate Donald Trump?  What if he was appointed to investigate the Russia investigation itself?  What if he was appointed to investigate the investigators?  What better way to expose a secret society of senior FBI agents on a mission to destroy the President of the United States than to put someone in charge who appears to be on their side?  How else would anyone ever infiltrate this cartel?  We are talking about the very senior people in the FBI.

Mueller has not said one negative thing about Donald Trump.  All the news articles about the Mueller investigation are the result of leaks, almost certainly by one of these senior FBI agents.  Most of those leaks have been wrong.  The only thing we know is that Mueller has indicted a couple of people, but none of the indictments are even remotely connected to the Russian collusion theory.

We know that Jeff Sessions did meet with Mueller’s team last week.  But, that team is now missing all the FBI agents who are suspected of being biased against Trump.  Neither Sessions nor Mueller is disclosing what was discussed.  CNN is assuming this is an investigation of alleged obstruction of Justice by Donald Trump because he fired James Comey.  The problem with that theory is that no objective constitutional scholar buys it.  There is zero chance that Trump can be removed from office because he fired James Comey.  Mueller would be insane to think that he could bring any charges against Trump after his entire team of investigators has been compromised.  This seems more likely to be in another long line of cases where CNN is willing to believe any theory that creates the slightest potential to remove Trump from office.  They have been wrong, by a huge margin, every single time.

None of us know what Mueller is doing nor why he is doing it.  We do know that the White House has willingly given Mueller every document he requested.  He has also been granted access to any witness he requested.  We don’t know if Mueller met with Sessions to interrogate him or to brief him on results?  Jeff Sessions has been completely exonerated regarding any alleged Russia collusion, so his self-imposed recusal may have ended.  Note that Sessions has become much more visible lately and he personally ordered the investigation into those missing e-mails.

Now there are leaks that Mueller wants to interview Trump.  Every legal expert warns that Trump would be walking into a perjury trap.  Yet neither Trump or his legal counsel are acting very concerned.  Perhaps they view a meeting with Mueller exactly the opposite of what CNN expects.  Perhaps Mueller hasn’t been investigating Trump, perhaps he has been investigating FOR Trump.  Does he want to meet with Trump to interrogate him or to brief him on his findings?

I went back and read the actual announcement of Robert Mueller’s appointment by Rod Rosenstein:

“In my capacity as acting Attorney General, I determined that it is in the public interest for me to exercise my authority and appoint a Special Counsel to assume responsibility for this matter,” said Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein. “My decision is not a finding that crimes have been committed or that any prosecution is warranted. I have made no such determination. What I have determined is that based upon the unique circumstances, the public interest requires me to place this investigation under the authority of a person who exercises a degree of independence from the normal chain of command.”

This time I read this very differently.  What if Rosenstein realized that he had the entire top floor of the FBI investigation let by agents who had direct connections with the Hillary Clinton campaign, who expressed bitter hatred of Donald Trump and who appeared to be on a mission to remove the President of the United States of America. What if he suspected a secret society dedicated to removing the President of the United States from office?  What if he realized he could not trust anyone in senior management at the FBI?

He never said he appointed Mueller to investigate Trump, that was already happening.  He appointed Mueller to exercise a degree of independence from the normal chain of command.  All those involved thought this was aimed at by passing Jeff Sessions, but that couldn’t possibly be true because Sessions had recused himself.  What if Rosenstein was bypassing the senior staff at the FBI?  Are you still sure about Robert Mueller?  All we really know is that when he took over, the top people on this investigation were all FBI agents hopelessly biased against Donald Trump.  As of today, none of them is able to influence this investigation at all.

CAVE OF THE WINDS

Democrats just folded like a cheap umbrella.  The government shutdown is over almost before it began.  McConnell gave them nothing other than the chance to vote on a DACA bill in the future.  That means nothing, because any legislation has to pass both the House and the Senate and the House ain’t drinking the Kool-Aid.

Republicans know they won and will be energized.  Democrats know they lost and will be demoralized.  The main stream media knows who won and while they probably won’t ever admit that, they know and it will influence their reporting.

FOX News is running a documentary on the numerous Clinton scandals.  The result is amazing.  So far we have only seen installment one.  There are five to go.  By the time this is done, everyone who lived through this will ask themselves one question:  “How could we have been so stupid?”

Then, to create the perfect storm, the FISA scandal is going nuclear.  Senator Ron Johnson sent a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray on Friday that contained several bombshells.  One is that the FBI apparently failed to preserve numerous text messages between Peter Strzok and Lisa Page.  Following is a link to that letter:

https://www.scribd.com/document/369664112/Strzok-Text-Messages-Deleted-Letter-From-Ron-Johnson-to-Christopher-Wray

In addition to the missing texts, Johnson quoted from several text messages already disclosed between Peter Strzok and Lisa Page that are absolutely stunning.  The bias and corruption we expected.  What we didn’t expect was that people who thought they were so brilliant and sophisticated could be so incredibly stupid.  Everyone who reads this will immediately hate both Strzok and Page.  They basically slam everyone and everything including Attorney General Lynch, FBI Director Comey, and fellow agents Rybicki and McCabe and with the expected snide remarks about Donald Trump.

Romans 1:22

Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools

For example, the last text shows how Lisa Page felt about Attorney General Lynch’s announcement that she would accept the recommendation by the Director of the FBI with regard to Hillary’s e-mail scandal:

any yeah, it’s a real profile in couragw (sic), since she knows no charges will be brought.”

This is beyond bad.  In addition to the obvious abuse of power and obstruction of justice, this has to be humiliating to the main stream media.  McCabe, Rybicki, Comey, Lynch, Hillary Clinton and a lot of other people will read this with absolute horror.  They probably have a knot in their stomach that feels like a 5 pound weight.  Time to lawyer up.

This makes the contemporary reporting by the main stream media look insanely inaccurate.  Now the only question is whether the main stream media was willingly complicit or merely incompetent.  Either way a lot of people in the main stream media are probably embarrassed and filled with rage.  As President Kennedy once said: “Victory has a thousand fathers, but defeat is an orphan.”  Even if they agreed with what the FBI and DOJ officials were doing, they must be stunned that this was documented by a chain of silly text messages between two lovers.  The only safe move, at this point, is to distance oneself as far as possible from the scene of the crime.  Expect a whole lot of people in the main stream media to immediately jump on the get me out of here bandwagon.

By the way, these were two of Mueller’s top investigators.  If he is smart, he will resign.  If he doesn’t resign, he will be removed.  Either way unless he produces smoking gun evidence of Donald Trump colluding with Russia within about 24 hours it will be impossible to support this investigation any more.  Even if he does come up with something, the question is will anyone believe him?  I suspect not.

BLUNDER – BUST

Democrats may have arrogantly stumbled into a major mistake that could have devastating consequences. It is clear, to anyone with an ounce of objectivity, that Democrats tried to use the threat of a government shutdown to intimidate Republicans into signing off on DACA. Even the main stream media has figured that out. That is a brilliant idea, if it works, but it is a major blunder if it doesn’t.

If Republicans fold, Democrats will pull the same stunt at regular intervals until they pass every single coveted piece of radical leftist legislation. But, if Republicans stay the course and Democrats fold, they are the ones who will win a major victory.

The usual suspect RINO Republicans tried, once again, to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. But this time things are different. Predictably several RINOs voted against the Continuing Resolution, but five Democrats crossed party lines and voted for it. That is clear evidence that Schumer’s control of Democrats in the Senate is slipping. RINO are no longer is control of the Republican party and Schumer is losing control of Democrats in the senate. Most importantly, Donald Trump is President of the United States and it is not easy to intimidate Trump.

McConnell says he will not pass any bill unless he has assurance that Trump will sign it. Trump says he will not sign a bill unless it is approved by Tom Cotton. Trump has publicly said there will be no negotiation on DACA until a clean Continuing Resolution is passed. If that doesn’t change, Democrats are in serious trouble.

I just got off the phone with a survey conducted by the DCCC. The questions were carefully designed to encourage people to blame Republicans for the shutdown. But, the survey itself is evidence that the DNC is terrified. They probably didn’t like my answers.

This was an unforced error. Anyone who watched the televised negotiation between Trump and a bi-partisan ground of legislatures realized that Trump was ready to sign a deal including DACA, increased border security including construction of a wall and an end to chain migration. He was even willing to negotiate on comprehensive immigration reform. During the public meeting, Democrats appeared to be equally wiling to negotiate on this. However, shortly after the public meeting, negotiations full apart as soon as the television cameras were turned off. Dick Durbin leaked alleged comments by Trump and literally accused him of being a racist. If Durbin thought this would intimidate Donald Trump into making a deal it was a major miscalculation. As pointed out earlier, Trump is not that easy to intimidate. He denied the allegations and declared that he was no longer willing to negotiate with Democrats because they cannot be trusted.

This could get even worse for Democrats. A four-page classified memo documenting abuse of FISA has now been seen by 180 Republicans. So far, all of them have expressed shock and outrage at what they saw. We can expect the House Intelligence Committee to vote to release this memo to the public. Unless Donald Trump objects, which is unlikely, that is likely to be released next Friday.

Devin Nunes was given evidence of this last March. But he did not leak details to the press, instead he waited for the results of at least four investigations. For months, Attorney General Jeff Sessions, FBI Director Christopher Wray and Deputy District Attorney Rod Rosenstein have repeatedly referred to ongoing investigations and have promised to take appropriate actions when they were complete. They were hammered by conservatives who were demanding immediate action. Several called for Jeff Sessions to resign. My guess is that Sessions, Wray and Rosenstein were all equally outraged. But, they were not looking for a short term political score, they were working toward indictments and prosecution.

It is very simple. If Republicans are right about this memo, the American people will also be shocked and outraged, and they will demand answers. If they are wrong, then it will be Republicans who have made a huge blunder. We will soon know.

SEEING RED

On July 8, 2010 I wrote a blog entitled: “RED SPY IN THE MORNING.” The United States had captured ten Russian spies after years of investigation. All ten spies plead guilty and were immediately swapped for four U.S. citizens imprisoned in Russia. This all happened at light speed and few people noticed. It seemed pretty bizarre to me, which is why I wrote my blog:

RED SPY IN THE MORNING

I wrote a follow-up article on July 27, 2010. This included an article posted in Accuracy in Media.

RED SPY IN THE MORNING (PART 2)

http://www.aim.org/aim-column/the-russian-agents-obama-and-the-cover-up/

I had forgotten all about this until I watched a report by Dick Morris. He made reference to this and he connected it to the Uranium One deal.

http://www.dickmorris.com/new-scandal-mueller-hid-russian-uranium-spies-public-view-lunch-lert/utm_source=dmreports&utm_medium=dmreports&utm_campaign=dmreports

One thing Morris definitely got right is that this all took place during the Uranium One deal. In June 2010, Bill Clinton gave a speech in Moscow for a $500,000 fee. The following article in CNS.com gives a timeline of the Uranium One deal:

https://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/michael-w-chapman/timeline-uranium-exec-gave-313-million-clinton-foundation

This seems impossible to believe. It is hard to imagine such blatant disregard for our National Security by a former President and a Secretary of State apparently with the cooperation of the Obama administration. Yet, there sure are a lot of interesting “coincidences” here. Numerous people are alleging that the FBI, the CIA, The NSA and possible other federal agencies appear to have been colluding with the Hillary Clinton campaign to destroy her political opponents. If they are right, then Dick Morris sounds a lot more rational. I sincerely hope this is not true, because the implications of this are mind-numbing.

A lot of people thought that it would take a miracle for Donald Trump to beat Hillary Clinton. Perhaps it really was a miracle. Maybe this is just how God works. Horribly flawed people, with tremendous ability, seem to surface at just the right time to save the day. If one watched “Darkest Hour” it is hard to explain Winston Churchill becoming Prime Minister in May 1940, other than as a result of divine intervention. No one, other than ordinary citizens, thought that Churchill, with his all too obvious idiosyncratic habits was remotely qualified to be Prime Minister of Britain. Yet he may literally have been the only person capable of standing up to both the British establishment and Adolph Hitler. Donald Trump’s flaws are more than obvious and few, other than ordinary citizens, thought he was a good choice to be President of the United States. Yet, he too may have been the only man really capable of beating Hillary Clinton and cleaning the swamp.

TDM

HIGH FIVE

The House Intelligence committee is going to vote to de-classify the document summarizing the findings regarding the Trump dossier. Every Republican will vote yes. Every Democrat will vote no. Once that happens, the President of the United States has 5 days to say no. If he does not object, the memo becomes public. I doubt that Donald Trump will say no. Some credible people believe that this memo will result in loud demands for an abrupt end to the Mueller investigation. Many are predicting indictments of top officials, with the obvious candidates working for the FBI. Everyone who has seen the memo acts like they have found the Holy Grail.

If Trump says no, then the entire House must vote on the subject. Perhaps that is why the House Intelligence committee is showing this to every congressional representative, including every Democrat. Democrats would be committing political suicide if they vote against disclosing this document.

I think the only question at this time is how long Democrats will risk continuing to support the cover-up. Every minute they delay releasing this document the more damage, potentially permanent, to the Democratic Party. That only way that could be avoided at this point would be in Republicans have got this all wrong or Democrats have some bombshell smoking gun evidence no one knows about. At this point I don’t even think it would help if Democrats did have smoking gun evidence because it would be close to impossible to believe them.

What would make this even worse for Democrats is if they shut down the government so that 3.6 million illegal “DACA” people could instantly become citizens and vote to keep Democrats in power. I think they are totally misreading the American people on that subject. That is particularly true when Democrats simultaneously refuse to secure the border. Regardless of how one feels about the DACA people, if this passes without securing the border, people from all over the world will rush to our borders in a desperate attempt to somehow get their children across the line. That should be obvious to everyone. Europe is paying a terrible price for opening their borders to unscreened refugees. There is a report today that Italians in Italy are now a minority. Nice!

This week was FISA week for congress. Next week will be FISA week for the rest of us. Next week is very likely to be a week that rocks our world.

UNDER COVER

It is now clear that Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee have received documents that are extremely disturbing.  While we do not have access to the documents we do know that several Republicans are describing this as much worse than Watergate.

Today Representative Matt Gaetz released a very strong statement:

https://theconservativetreehouse.com/

“The House must immediately make public the memo prepared by the Intelligence Committee regarding the FBI and the Department of Justice. The facts contained in this memo are jaw-dropping and demand full transparency. There is no higher priority than the release of this information to preserve our democracy,”

The House Intelligence Committee voted today to allow all congressional members to view a summary report of classified documents behind the “Clinton Dossier.”  Let me correct that.  Every Republican on the committee voted for this.  Every Democrat on the committee voted against it.

This clearly is a bombshell document.  Look at the controls that are in place to allow House members access to this document.

“There will be no copies of the report handed out to House members.  Instead, a copy will be made available for them to read in a secure room in the Capital.  They won’t be able to take the report out of the room, but they will know the answers to the questions.”

Democrats on the House Intelligence committee are clearly desperate to prevent anyone, in either party, from seeing this. That is confirmation that both Republicans and Democrats view this document as a political bombshell.  It is extremely disappointing and unacceptable that Democrats are stonewalling this.  The House Intelligence committee is one of the most important institutions in congress.  Both parties are expected to only appoint members to this committee that are dedicated to putting the country first.  That is why this committee, and in many cases ONLY THIS COMMITTEE, is authorized access to highly classified documents.  Sadly, it is hard to argue that the Democrats on this committee come close to meeting this standard.

The delay tactics by those Democrats on the House Intelligence committee are doomed to failure.  It is no longer a question of whether or not this information goes public, but rather when it goes public.  There are 193 Democrats in the House of Representatives.  All it will take is for one of those 193 Democrats to have the same opinion of this as Republicans.  It is hard to imagine someone like Senator Joe Manchin ignoring this.  I think it is only a matter of time and when it blows it will blow sky high.

It is often said that the cover-up is always worse than the crime.  People may forgive someone for doing something wrong.  They are not nearly as forgiving when one is caught trying to hide the truth from the public.  A lot of Democrats may learn this the hard way.
