Jeff Sessions kept his promise to find and prosecute leakers. He clearly was focused on the biggest dog of all. James Wolfe, Director of Security with the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence (“SCCI”) was arrested on charges of lying to investigators. This is beyond bad. James Wolfe was Director of Security for the SCCI for over 30 years. This was literally asking the Fox (Wolfe) to guard the hen house. It is impossible to overstate the significant of this arrest.

Prior to working the SCCI, Wolfe was an Intelligence Analyst for the U.S. Armey from March 1983 through March 1987:

A federal grand jury indicted him. Yesterday the entire Senate authorized the SCCI to cooperate with the DOJ. The SCCI was briefed on this Monday and Mr. Wolfe was arrested yesterday. He will appear in court today. The news media didn’t learn about this until he was arrested.

The silence by Senate Democrats, including members of the SCCI speaks volumes. They realize this is beyond bad. They only started commenting after the arrest was made public. Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal, liberal Democrat from Connecticut, said the charges were “extraordinarily serious and troubling.”

The Justice Department seized the phone and email records of Ali Watkins. Senator Blumenthal admitted this situation was serious enough to warrant violating the freedom of the press. Remember that the SCCI was briefed on this so they know a lot more than we will ever know. They aren’t even pretending this is anything other than a national security disaster of the first magnitude.

There will be an immediate and obvious contrast with the Mueller investigation which has come up with less than nothing. Even if Mueller does find, something, it is unlikely to involve a crime and certainly won’t involve a threat to national security. I think even Democrats will start pressuring Mueller to wrap this up and move on.

Hillary Clinton’s email scandal, on the other hand, did constitute a risk to national security. That is being investigated by a special unit let by John Huber. While everyone is waiting for the DOJ IG report, scheduled to be released Tuesday, it is Huber that is likely to ask a federal grand jury to indict people.

It is increasingly obvious that Sessions has been on the hunt and when he strikes it is with brutal efficiency. Unlike the Mueller investigation and the House and Senate Committee investigations there have been zero leaks regarding these investigations. They become public when people are arrested.

Ms. Watkins had her records seized by the DOJ in February and it doesn’t appear that she told anyone about this, including her employer the New York Times. We can assume that the DOJ made her an offer she couldn’t afford to turn down. My guess is that there are a lot of people in full panic mode.

This changes EVERYTHING! Democrats and their fawning idiots in the MSM have egg all over their face. While they have been shrieking hysterically about the mythical unicorn of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia, they literally missed the crime of the century going on under their collective noses. This is beyond embarrassing, it borders on criminal negligence.

If we start seeing criminal indictments of Andrew McCabe, James Comey and possibly Loretta Lynch and even Hillary Clinton it will become a perfect storm. The obvious bias will only be exceeded by the level of stupidity. Don’t bet against Sessions. James Wolfe held his job for over 30 years. He clearly thought he was immune which is why he wasn’t concerned about lying to the FBI. He was very wrong and he will pay a terrible price for this mistake.

Slate published an article showing that prosecutors were able to quote “Signal” messages in the indictment. Signal is a secure encrypted messaging system used by a lot of reporters who foolishly thought these messages would never be exposed. Just ask James Wolfe about that.

Have you ever tried to drain a swamp, or maybe just had to clear a clogged drain? I have done that several times, usually regarding drains in my yard that become clogged with debris. The pattern is always similar. First, you need to find the source of the problem. That is sometimes difficult because a clogged drain can result in an enormous puddle.  Sometimes you need to dig around blindly until you finally locate the drain itself.  Then, once you locate the drain, you start removing the items clogging up the drain. Sometimes that takes a lot of messy work. Eventually the water starts to move.  You clean away more debris, the water starts to drain faster. Then there is the magical point where the cover of the drain is completely cleared of debris. The water starts rushing down the drain and the water rapidly disappears.  At this point, the water rushing toward the drain brings more debris. But you are expecting it this time, so each time the drain starts to clog up again, you instantly take additional steps to keep it clear. If you do it right, the entire puddle is gone and if you keep that drain clean, your yard doesn’t flood again.

Donald Trump is draining the swamp and is following the same pattern. It took him a long time to even find the drain. Then he had to figure out who and what was blocking the drain. He is not an experienced politician and he made some foolish hiring decisions. Some people were merely incompetent. Others were set on sabotaging him. If Trump is good at one thing, he is good at firing people. He now has cleared away much of the debris and the swamp is starting to drain. The biased liberal media is not reporting this yet, but to those paying attention, it is easy to see the water levels falling.

We may be close to that point where the water starts to gush out in a flood. One thing has been obvious for a long time. If the rumors about the political corruption at the DOJ and the FBI were true, there had to be a lot of main stream FBI agents who were furious. They were also frightened. They knew some of the bad guys, but they didn’t know all of them. If you don’t want that coveted job of guarding an airport hanger in Fairbanks, Alaska in January, you better keep your mouth shut. They have seen other agents who had their career destroyed because they failed at internal enemy identification.

There are now numerous reports of agents who want to tell the truth, but they also want protection. They are asking congress to subpoena them, so they can freely testify under oath. If this is true, then we could soon see the slow circling of the drain turn into something that looks more like a shark feeding frenzy. The main obstruction to draining the swamp was the Mueller investigation. It was kind of simple, it was hard for Trump to work on draining the swamp when he was spending so much time and energy responding to an investigation that should never have been started. But now the Mueller investigation is nearly over and there is zero evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia. In the meantime, other people have been working on draining that swamp. The entire top floor of the DOJ and the FBI has been replaced. The real work has been done by people you don’t even know. These people don’t leak to the press and they don’t seek out microphones. They just do their job, slowly and carefully until they are sure they have all the facts. When they strike it will be in the form of referrals for prosecution, indictments and convictions. Only a handful of convictions are necessary before those people currently engaged in covering things up start to run for the nearest exit. I believe we are very near that point.

Draining the swamp is a slow process, until it isn’t.

I have never had a cup of coffee from Starbucks. I hate coffee. I tried a few times to drink a couple of cups of coffee to develop a taste, but it never worked. It tasted terrible when I drank it and the awful taste seemed to linger for months. So, I have never understood the attraction to Starbucks in the first place.

Starbucks was one of the most respected brand names in the world. Here in Folsom, there seems to be a Starbucks on every corner. There is always a line at the drive thru window and the restaurant seems to always be crowded. Now, I think Starbucks may be in serious trouble. This is a classic example of a knee jerk reaction to political correctness resulting in incredibly stupid business decisions.

This all started when a Starbucks employee allegedly asked two black men to leave, because they weren’t buying anything. This was immediately portrayed as an act of racism. Perhaps it was, but we don’t really know. As far as I can tell, no one investigated to see if white people were also asked to leave if they stayed too long without buying anything. The liberal left assumed racism and Starbucks panicked. Starbucks decided to make their restrooms available to everyone, whether they buy anything or not. That is guaranteed to make Starbucks very popular with people in desperate search of a public restroom. If you have ever used the restroom in a public place, like a Bart Station, you know what to expect. It won’t be pretty.

Someone made a fake coupon offering free coffee to any black person who takes the coupon to Starbucks. This may have been intended as a tasteless joke (pun intended.)

This created a lose-lose situation for Starbucks. People started showing up with coupons expecting free drinks. If Starbucks honored the coupons, they would be racist. If they didn’t honor the coupons, they would be considered racist. All Starbucks got was angry customers and bad press.

This is guaranteed to make things worse. I distinctly remember when a company I worked for had mandatory diversity training. These arrogant self-righteous instructors came in, poured the oil of political correctness over everything and offended almost everyone. White associates who were not racist, were deeply offended when the instructors tried to explain why they needed to come to grips with their racism. Black employees were offended because this made them believe everything that happened to them really was racially motivated. The real racists just laughed. They didn’t care what these self-righteous liberals had to say about anything.

It won’t work for Starbucks either, because this never works. In addition to Starbucks becoming the world’s largest public bathroom facility, there will be more racial incidents. Some people will show up wanting to be offended. In their haste to eliminate racism, Starbucks is incentivizing both racism and victimhood. Odds are they will get a double dose of both. In the meantime, a lot of people will really wonder if the high-priced coffee is worth it. The buck already stops at Starbucks, that may now change.

I predict, sooner rather than later, Starbucks will start to look a lot like Sears.

However, the author ended the story far too soon. His description of how the main stream media covered the war was very accurate. So was the scramble for Democrats to find the candidate who could suggest the fastest way to surrender. But the American public continued to support the war and Richard Nixon won re-election by a landslide. He proceeded to simultaneously prosecute the war, turn it over to the South Vietnamese and negotiate a peace treaty with North Vietnam. If Richard Nixon had not been forced to resign, that treaty would still be in effect and South Vietnam would look a lot like South Korea.

The main stream media continued to promote widespread protests against the war, even though Nixon was clearly working to end it. But they did more than that. They began a full-scale resistance to Nixon clearly designed to remove him from office. They could not accept the fact that a man they despised was President of the United States. They turned a third-rate burglary of DNC headquarters into a constitutional crisis. Richard Nixon became the classic example of someone who, just because he was paranoid, didn’t mean people weren’t really out to get him. He did ask the IRS if it could target his political opponents. The IRS told him no! To the main stream media of then and today, Nixon merely asking was a high crime and misdemeanor. When President Obama did this, and Democratic Senators openly demanded that IRS investigate the TEA Party and the IRS did exactly that, the main stream media didn’t notice and when confronted with this, didn’t care.

Nixon was thrown out of office because some of his supporters did an attempted burglary of the DNC. It is increasingly clear that the Obama administration colluded with the Hillary Clinton campaign to use the DOJ, the FBI and our intelligence services to spy on Donald Trump during the Presidential election. The main stream media is too blinded by their hatred of Donald Trump to consider the possibility that this might actually be a problem.

Once Nixon was removed Democrats in congress refused to let President Ford consider the resumption of bombing over North Vietnam. They moved to cut off all funding for the war and eventually said they wouldn’t even give aid to South Vietnam. The result was inevitable. The North Vietnamese invaded by driving down paved roads with little or no resistance. The Viet Cong were basically ignored because they had been wiped out during the Tet Offensive, one of the worst military blunders, by the Viet Cong and the NVA, in military history.

The United States suffered a humiliating defeat and our veterans were welcomed home with scorn. Even today many people don’t realize that those Vietnam Veterans actually won that war! The performance of our military in Vietnam was overwhelming and it drove the North Vietnamese to decide they could not win. That is why they signed a peace treaty. It was Democrats, led by people like Walter Cronkite who threw that victory away. They were too busy celebrating their victory over Richard Nixon to give any consideration to the consequences on our country. Incredibly they still brag about their courage in resisting an unjust war. Courage demonstrated by burning American flags while smoking marijuana. This was at the same time over 58,000 men and women were paying the ultimate sacrifice in Vietnam. Then, when the war was successfully lost, this was followed by treating Vietnam veterans as a bunch of naïve drug abusing losers. In realty there was a lot more drug abuse by the anti-war protestors than by combat veterans. We were too busy trying to stay alive.

The loss of the Vietnam War resulted in hundreds of thousands of people incarcerated in re-education camps and millions more being slaughtered in Cambodia. Those inconvenient facts were and are ignored in the afterglow of the rejoicing by the liberal left.

This Memorial Day, please give some thought to those who fought for this country and to the spineless cowards in the liberal left who fought and continue to fight against it. The same jerks who are trying to remove Donald Trump from office and who would also celebrate joyously if either North Korea and Iran successfully obtain nuclear weapons.

I once had an employee come to see me in my office.  She was upset because she didn’t like an assignment she had been given to complete. She explained, in detail, why she did not want to do this. I listened carefully and then said the following: “If I only gave you assignments that you wanted to do, I wouldn’t need to pay you!”  She blinked a couple of times, then got up, went back to her desk and started working on the assignment.

I think this is exactly the way the NFL should handle the flag protest situation.  If you don’t want to honor our flag by standing for the national anthem, there is an easy solution. Go work somewhere else.

For years I have watched sports franchises put up with ridiculous demands by “star” players.  Sometimes this includes overlooking or even covering up criminal activity.  Some of the owners believe that the only thing that matters is winning.  But, championships are never won by one player. We have all seen teams win championships that no one expected.  In many cases is this with new younger players, or older players rejected by other teams.  There is no better example of this than the Las Vegas Knights.  This is an expansion team that was not expected to be competitive for years.

How did they achieve this?  If you check out their website, they will tell you.  “The formula, from owner Bill Foley on down, is based on team.” If you watch a Las Vegas Knights home game the performance of the National Anthem is a big part of the event.  The singer is Carnell “Golden Pipes” Johnson.  He sings the National Anthem at all their games.  When it comes to the part where the anthem goes:

“gave proof through the ‘night’ that our flag was still there” he pauses and the entire arena shouts: “knight.”  Like I said, it is all about the team.

Google a video of the Las Vegas Knights national anthem and you can see it for yourself.

That is the opposite of a Colin Kaepernick.  When he sat down for the National Anthem, he made a loud statement: “This is all about me, not the team.” When other players joined in for a cause most of them can’t even define, they missed something important. The thousands of people who were paying big bucks to see them play were standing at attention for our National Anthem. If those fans stop buying tickets and people at home turn off NFL games, then your protest will be meaningless.

I think the NFL could have fixed this problem easily by showing some common sense.  This is a sports league.  It is about performance on the field.  We as the NFL honor America.  That is why we make it a big deal to honor the flag before every game.  If you want to play in the NFL, then you are expected to show the same honor and respect for our flag as the fans who are paying to see you.  If this in unacceptable to you, then we suggest seeking other employment.

They could also solve it my directing TV broadcasters to focus on the thousands of people honoring our flag and ignore the three malcontents sitting on their ass.  But, of course, that would require ethical behavior on the part of the broadcasters so that is extremely unlikely.

Instead they said you can either honor the flag or stay in the locker room. Brilliant.  This insults everyone and satisfies no one.   We can bet that the main stream media will showcase every athlete who stays in the locker room and promote them to hero status for their great act of courage.  They will be too pumped up with self-righteous glorification to hear the clicks when a whole lot of us turn the channel.

Donald Trump just threw it high and inside to Democrats in congress.

I hereby demand, and will do so officially tomorrow, that the Department of Justice look into whether or not the FBI/DOJ infiltrated or surveilled the Trump Campaign for Political Purposes – and if any such demands or requests were made by people within the Obama Administration!

Trump had a meeting with Wray and Rosenstein that was frank and earnest. Trump was frank, and they were earnest. Trump said he would ask whether “any such demands or requests were made by people within the Obama administration.”  He clearly asked both Wray and Rosenstein whether they were ready, willing and able to do their job. Rosenstein and Wray quickly folded. They obviously snapped to attention and said, “yes sir.”

They ordered the IG to investigate and they immediately set up a meeting to give Devin Nunes and Trey Gowdy and complete access to the documents previously requested. Significantly, Democrats were not invited to this meeting.

Rosenstein: “If anyone did infiltrate or surveil participants in a presidential campaign for inappropriate purposes, we need to know about it and take appropriate action.”

DOJ spokeswoman Flores:

“The Department has asked the Inspector General to expand the ongoing review of the FISA application process to include determining whether there was any impropriety or political motivation in how the FBI conducted its counterintelligence investigation of persons suspected of involvement with the Russian agents who interfered in the 2016 presidential election,”

Adam Schiff was left with egg all over his face and, as expected, he issued an absurd response:

“If this is the same materials that the Department of Justice and FBI expressed such a great concern over that could put lives at risk, that could compromise relationships with foreign partners, then why are they capitulating? Why have those concerns gone away, because if they haven’t then they shouldn’t be providing this information,”?

Among other things, Schiff tried to throw Rosenstein under the bus.  Rosenstein knows that. He has probably had it up to here with “Slick Schiff.”

Democrats weren’t invited to view these documents because they showed no interest in viewing them.  Schiff admitted that in his response.  His argument about “lives at risk” is absurd.  The informant has been publicly identified by several people as Stefan Halper.  Exposing his name had zero impact on his personal safety or national security. Democrats didn’t need to see the documents because they already knew his name.

We recently learned that Andrew McCabe leaked details of the Russia Dossier to CNN. Since the day Trump was elected there has been a steady stream of leaks calculated to resist his presidency. It is obvious that Democrats were unwilling to accept the results of the election. Trump knew that, but he could not prove it. That has changed. While neither Mueller or anyone else has a shred of evidence regarding collusion by the Trump campaign and Russia, there is a growing mountain of evidence that the Obama administration was using the FBI and the Intelligence agencies to spy on the Trump campaign.  It is impossible to overstate the significance of this scandal. It just may be the worst scandal regarding abuse of power in our nation’s history.

The responsible and smart thing for Mark Warner and Adam Schiff would be to acknowledge the seriousness of this and demand a bi-partisan investigation. Instead they are pretending this doesn’t matter. That causes one to wonder what either of them knew or should have known. The question is: are they merely stupid or are they complicit?

We will soon know, because Donald Trump has upped his game big league. Both Wray and Rosenstein have been either drafted or recruited to the Trump team. This has been elevated to a whole new level and that will soon become obvious.

Here in California we are assaulted with a ton of ads for Democratic politicians. I watched an ad for Gavin Newsom and at first I thought it was a John Cox ad. The ad hammers Cox for supporting Trump, for wanting lower taxes, for securing the border and for protecting the second amendment.  Newsom is praised for resisting Trump, resisting the NRA, protecting us from global warming and expanding ObamaCare.

Obviously the people running these campaigns think they have the winning argument.  However there are opinion polls that put serious doubt on these assumptions. If these polls are accurate, a majority of people in California want increased border security, they aren’t laying awake at night terrified about global warming and they actually don’t mind tax cuts.  Those who are actually paying for ObamaCare are far less enthusiastic than those getting a free ride.

Ari Fleischer was on Fox the other night and he pointed this out.  He said that while CNN and MSNBC have a very loyal base, that base is shrinking rapidly. He said liberals are confusing the opinions of the diehard liberals on CNN and MSNBC with the opinions of real people. I thought he was exaggerating this, until I started seeing those ads.  Perhaps a majority of people in California really are buying this nonsense, but perhaps it is liberals who are delusional. It wouldn’t be the first time.

Rob Moore was defeated in Alabama, not because he was too conservative but rather because his opponents successfully painted him as a slime ball.  His opponent is far more conservative than most Democratic Senators.

The same thing happened in other races. Democrats won elections with military veterans who looked and sounded pretty conservative. The last time Democrats took control of the House that was their strategy.  They ran a lot of people who looked more conservative until they got in office and learned that Nancy Pelosi doesn’t tolerate independent thought.

This year, Democrats running for election are assuming that a majority of the voting public is motivated by far left positions on every issue. If only Democrats voted, they probably would be right.  But there are fewer Democrats than there was when Obama was elected. One of the reasons I predicted a Trump win in 2016 was this specific factor. All of the polls were assuming voter turnout levels similar to 2008. That isn’t close to what happened.

It is hard to imagine any outcome other than liberal Democrats getting elected, again, in California.  We have seen this script too many times before. But last August I wrote a blog titled: “What Color Is California.”

California is switching to mail in ballots. While this may appear to benefit Democrats because they have a larger grass roots organization capable of “helping” people fill out their ballot, it may have the opposite effect. It is not always easy to see who filled out a mail-in ballot, but this creates a record of everyone who voted. That means the list of resident citizens of voting age can be compared to people who voted. Judicial Watch is all over this:

Allegations of wide-spread voter fraud are ignored by the press. The standard answer is that “there’s no evidence of that.” However absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. If Judicial Watch is right and 11 California counties have more registered voters than residence citizens of voting age, then wide-spread voter fraud in California seems pretty likely.

Many people have given up on this state ever electing a politician that is remotely acceptable.  Democrats seem to always choose the worst possible candidate and they seem to always coast to victory. It is far too soon to develop false hope, but things have changed. Other states, like Wisconsin and Michigan have already changed from blue to red. On the other hand, I know of no state that has switched from red to blue. I repeat, “What Color Is California.”

Barnum’s American Museum operated from 1841 to 1865.  It was wildly popular.  So popular that one problem was with people staying too long.  So, Barnum put up a sign saying: “This Way to the Egris.” These signs were placed all over the Museum.  People who followed those signs ended up at a door.  When they went through the door they found themselves out on the street.

This appears to be a perfect allegory for the path to destruction glorified by the main stream media.  At first the main stream media pumped up Trump, because they stupidly thought he would be the easiest Republican to beat in a general election.  This was like the “vote for the worst” movement during American Idol.  Millions of Americans would vote for the worst performer because they were fun to watch and it was even more fun to watch the judges squirm.  Eventually, when there were only a few performers left, these poor performers were eliminated because there were never enough people willing to vote for someone clearly unqualified.

The main stream media gave Trump all that free publicity because they thought he was the worst possible candidate certain to be defeated by Hillary Clinton. The theory was that even Hillary Clinton looks good compared to a clown like Donald Trump.

When Donald Trump won the Republican nomination the main stream media launched a vicious campaign to destroy him.  They ran every negative story they could find, including the Vanity Fair tapes.

In the meantime, the Obama administration was horrified.They had already put in the fix to get Hillary “exonerated” for her obvious criminal negligence.  Democrats are not squeamish about electing crooks, if they are Democratic crooks.  As soon as Hillary was safely exonerated, the Obama administration launched a campaign to destroy Donald Trump.  The FBI used an informant to lure lower level Trump associates into situations that had the appearance of colluding with Russia.  They were sure Trump was colluding with Russia, because they knew Hillary was colluding with Russia.  They stupidly assumed Trump was doing that too.  The entire intelligence community was united in spying on the Trump campaign.  This was a coordinated campaign to protect the country from electing this: “vote for the worst” candidate.

Both Democrats and the Obama administration were shocked when Donald Trump was elected.  President Obama was horrified that the American people had just elected someone who promised to reverse his legacy. Whether he gave direct orders or just a discrete nod of the head, the fictional Russia collusion investigation morphed into a coordinated campaign to reverse the results of the election and remove the intruder, Donald Trump, from office.  What could possibly go wrong?

They never dreamed that this day would come.  A day when Donald Trump is standing tall, with the economy soaring, peace with North Korea a real possibility and all the deeply embedded Obama hold-overs being swept out to sea as Donald Trump kept his promise to drain the swamp.

In effect Democrats put up “This Way To the Egris” signs and then stupidly followed those signs themselves.  They may very well end up, out on the street, completely removed from power.  There is an old saying: “If you shoot at a king, don’t miss.” Democrats took a shot at Donald Trump and they didn’t even come close.

We are now only hours ways from this plot being exposed to the world.  The advantage for Trump is that, unlike Democrats, he doesn’t need to make things up.  Democrats did this to themselves.  They thought Hillary had the election in the bag and all of this would be covered-up and swept away.  They were sloppy and left a lot of evidence behind.  Even after they lost, they over estimated their ability to spin this away and cover it all up.  Granted, Trump won the election, but there were still all these soldiers for the cause deeply embedded in every federal institution.  In addition, the liberal courts could be counted on to keep the process moving with increasingly absurd legal decisions by judges more than willing to ignore the constitution and the law for the greater good. The main stream media went into full assault mode with every newscast focused on trashing Donald Trump.

Now, that entire plot is crumbling.  It was built on a shaky foundation consisting of nothing more than absurd lies. What Democrats missed was a critical truth about Donald Trump.  The man who won election by ignoring the advice of the Republican establishment wasn’t about to be influenced by Vladimir Putin. Putin does have a clue with regard to how American’s think and Trump knows that. Trump would never have colluded with Russia because he didn’t think Russia had anything to offer.  In addition, for all his faults, Trump clearly loves this country and when he says: “America First” he means it.  Democrats were blindsided because they cannot even grasp the concept of putting America first.

The truth is coming out.  It has taken a long time and there are still people desperately trying to sustain the cover-up, but the truth is coming out.  It is more than the IG report.  It is more than the brilliant reporting by Sara Carter and John Solomon.  It is more than the nightly Sean Hannity monolog. It is rather the inevitable result of trying to cover up a cesspool of toxic corruption with increasingly thin paper.  This was just like Kilauea.  At some point the volcano was just going to blow.  We are no longer days, weeks or months from the day of reckoning.  This is now a matter of hours.

If you question that, consider how desperately the liberal left is simultaneously trying to cover up the name of the spy embedded in the Trump organization, while James Clapper is explaining why spying on a political campaign was a “good idea.”  They tried to lure conservatives into releasing his name, so they could pull another Valerie Plame.  But their opponents are on to them and although many people know the name, they are not leaking it.  This person will soon be exposed, but not by people like Sean Hannity.  He will be exposed by the Washington Post and the New York Times.

This is a stunning admission that the FBI was engaged in a secret campaign to investigate the Trump campaign during a Presidential election. The document, clearly intended to put explain why the FBI did this actually documents why this was totally unacceptable.

This all began just after the FBI exonerated Hillary Clinton. The FBI reports that they conducted a secret investigation to avoid influencing an election.  The problem is that they admitted they weren’t worried about hurting Trump but rather about the possibility of helping him:

“Officials have told the inspector general something quite different. They said Ms. Page and others advocated a slower, circumspect pace, especially because polls predicted Mr. Trump’s defeat. They said that anything the F.B.I. did publicly would only give fodder to Mr. Trump’s claims on the campaign trail that the election was rigged.

Mr. Strzok countered that even if Mr. Trump’s chances of victory were low — like dying before 40 — the stakes were too high to justify inaction.

An October 31, 2016 article in the New York Times puts this in perspective.  Note this was published just prior to the election:

This article disclosed that the FBI was investigating the Trump campaign, while it admitted that there was no conclusive or direct link between Mr. Trump and the Russian government.

Agents scrutinized advisers close to Donald J. Trump, looked for financial connections with Russian financial figures, searched for those involved in hacking the computers of Democrats, and even chased a lead — which they ultimately came to doubt — about a possible secret channel of email communication from the Trump Organization to a Russian bank.

Law enforcement officials say that none of the investigations so far have found any conclusive or direct link between Mr. Trump and the Russian government. And even the hacking into Democratic emails, F.B.I. and intelligence officials now believe, was aimed at disrupting the presidential election rather than electing Mr. Trump.

This article acknowledges that the investigation of Trump officials was pushed by the Hillary Clinton campaign that demanded James B. Comey, Director of the FBI disclose this investigation publicly.

“Hillary Clinton’s supporters, angry over what they regard as a lack of scrutiny of Mr. Trump by law enforcement officials, pushed for these investigations.” In recent days they have also demanded that James B. Comey, the director of the F.B.I., discuss them publicly, as he did last week when he announced that a new batch of emails possibly connected to Mrs. Clinton had been discovered.

This means the FBI “secret” investigation was started by Hillary Clinton supporters and the FBI knew that. This entire investigation was politically motivated from the start and the FBI covered that up. Hillary Clinton supports were demanding that James Comey inform voters that Russia had taken sides in the presidential race on behalf of Trump, even though the FBI had reached no such conclusion.  It impossible to reconcile this with James Comey claiming he wasn’t quite sure about the source of the Russia Dossier.

There was also collusion between the F.B.I and Democratic members of congress.  Representative Gregory W. Meeks, Democrat from New York publicly asked if: “the FBI was investigating the Trump Foundation? Is he looking into the Russians hacking all of “our” emails? Is he looking into and deciding what is going on with regard to other allegations of the Trump Organization.”

Harry Reid said:

“It has become clear that you possess explosive information about close ties and coordination between Donald Trump, his top advisers, and the Russian government — a foreign interest openly hostile to the United States, which Trump praises at every opportunity,” Mr. Reid wrote. “The public has a right to know this information.”

No wonder the F.B.I has been slow walking the release of documents. This is beyond bad. The F.B.I knew it was crossing several lines in investigating a political campaign during a presidential election. That is particularly true when one political campaign was demanding the F.B.I investigate another political campaign. The F.B.I did not disclose this to congress because it would have raised several red flags. They knew it was wrong, but they did it anyway. Then they lied about it.  Now, 18 months later, these investigations have still found zero evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.

A special counsel to investigate collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia was never warranted. The F.B.I was already doing that and no one was trying to obstruct that. If a special counsel was necessary, it should have been used to investigate the F.B.I.

The DOJ IG report has already been drafted and will be published shortly. Many people believe that this NYT article was designed to put the F.B.I.’s best spin on this before that IG report was published. We can assume that this is the best explanation they can come up with to justify the unjustifiable.   This has the potential to make the Kilauea volcanic eruption look miniscule in comparison. What is most troubling is the failure of Democrats to even acknowledge that this is a serious problem.

The sun is about to set on the Mueller investigation and this may happen in the blink of an eye.  The goal was to keep this investigation going until at least the mid-term elections.  The theory was that if they couldn’t find something big enough to remove Trump they could at least cast enough shade to create a blue wave mid-term election.

Both dreams have been totally shattered.  Mueller isn’t close to finding something on Trump and the Russia Collusion investigation is boomeranging on Democrats. Mueller may have incentive to shut this down immediately to avoid being personally exposed to criminal accusations.

If you want to have some fun, do some research on Robert Mueller.  There seems to be a history of botching major investigations.  Check out Whitey Bulger and look at the Anthrax investigation.  There seems to be a pattern here of gross incompetence.

Hold-overs from the Obama administration were in an open conspiracy to resist the Trump administration from governing effectively. Some of them even admitted this publicly, but the main stream media just ignored it. They hated Trump too, so they didn’t care.  That would be bad enough, but this turns out to be worse, much worse, than anyone imagined.  The latest and greatest is from John Solomon at the Hill, who is well known for having his facts in order.

While Mueller was Director of the FBI Oleg Deripaska was asked to fund and support an attempt to gain the release of Robert Levinson from Iran.  It obviously failed and today no one appears to know if Levinson is even alive.  Although the decision of the FBI to seek the help of Deripaska regarding this subject is ethically challenged, what is really staggering is the level of stupidity and incompetence.  Seriously?  The FBI “asks” someone like Deripaska to “spend millions of his own dollars funding an FBI-supervised operation to rescue a retired FBI agent, Robert Levinson captured in Iran while working for the CIA in 2007.” This has the ugly odor of the FBI trying to bribe someone in Iran to retrieve Robert Levinson. Then, when they think they have a deal, it appears that the Hillary Clinton State Department nixed it.

The Washington Post thought Deripaska was the missing link that would unravel the entire Russia collusion puzzle. They were wrong, which is hardly a surprise:

This morphs from stupid to downright idiotic.  Two months before Trump was elected President, three FBI agents woke Deripaska up at this home.  At least one of the agents knew Deripaska from the former FBI scheme to retrieve Levinson.  They proposed a theory that Trump’s campaign was secretly colluding with Russia to hijack the U.S. election.  Deripaska literally laughed at them and then, when he realized they were serious, told them this was absurd.

Mueller, desperate to indict someone, appears to have targeted a Russian company that doesn’t even exist.  Apparently, he thought the Russians would never bother to show up.  After all they were in Russia and Mueller couldn’t do squat to them. Instead one of these firms hired legal counsel and demanded a speedy trial. The FBI was embarrassed into asking for a delay in the trail because they weren’t prepared to present their case.  Mueller shouldn’t be fired for bias, he should be fired for gross incompetence.  This calls for a remake of “dumb and dumber.”

In any event, the Mueller investigation is over. The sun is going down and we are very near the point where it drops suddenly below the horizon.  If you have ever watched a sunset at Key West, you know exactly how that works.  The sun is always at it brightest, just before it drops out of sight completely.
