Fox, in fact, has made Benghazi a permanent part of its programming, mentioning the word on no fewer than 1,101 programs in the past year, according to Nexis. The chyron “Benghazi” is almost as much of a permanent fixture on Fox as “Breaking News” is on CNN.

CNN was too busy running breaking news about the lack of news about MH370.  Political views this as evidence that FOX was on a Benghazi witch hunt.  CNN, of course, was on a desperate hunt for viewers…any viewers.

The White House Correspondents dinner was just plain awful.  Obama wasn’t funny; he just made crude and tasteless jokes. There is a huge difference between class and crass.  Obama’s jokes weren’t jokes at all; they were just incredibly cheap shots.  Only the hard core liberal left would consider any of this to be humorous.  This was followed by the comedian.  I can’t remember his name and based on his performance no one else will remember it either.  He basically read his jokes, his timing was off, he criticized only Republicans and he wasn’t very funny.  But he did say something that was extremely significant.  He said that he stopped watching CNN and went to FOX for news.

Now, have you watched the news?  Not CNN, I mean, like the real news?

He took shots at FOX news too, which was required.  But he also admitted that FOX News has won the ratings war.

If the Benghazi story blows sky high, and I think it will, FOX news will come out smelling like a rose.  As Political pointed out, FOX kept on this story long after everyone else gave up.  Only this wasn’t a story about the lack of news regarding a missing airliner.  This was investigative reporters keeping after a story with national significance that the main stream media refused to cover.  It is in ways similar to the way the Washington Post kept after Watergate when everyone else had moved on.

This means the Benghazi story may do something important, in addition to exposing the Obama Administration and Hillary Clinton.  It may remind CNN and other news organizations what they are supposed to be doing.  I predict by this time next year, they will all be after the FOX.

John Boehner will receive authorization for a select committee.  This committee will function during the summer congressional recess.  It will not be limited in jurisdiction.  It will be led by Trey Gowdy or someone equally qualified.  The truth is going to come out and it is going to be devastating for the Obama administration.  It will also be devastating for Hillary Clinton.

This will happen sooner than you can imagine.  Unlike the slow and ineffective hearings we have enduring for the past year and one half, this select committee will move at the speed of light.  Since congress will not be in session, there will be no other legislative activity to interfere.  The softball questions and grandstanding will be gone.  A select committee does not have to follow standard committee time and jurisdiction restraints.  Questions will be asked and answers will be demanded.

A select committee is likely to have the authority to prosecute someone without getting approval from the DOJ.  If someone fails to respond to a subpoena the select committee will take them to court immediately.  None of this crap where Lois Lerner has been dodging a contempt citation for months.  Democrats will try to downplay the select committee as unnecessary.  I don’t think that will work.  They will also try to restrict its’ power and jurisdiction.  I don’t think that will work either.

Jay Carney’s attempt to argue that the smoking gun e-mail wasn’t actually about Benghazi doesn’t pass the snicker test.  It is one thing to lie.  We expect that.  But this isn’t even a good lie.  Neither the Obama administration nor Hillary Clinton has a good answer to what happened in Benghazi.  We know that because if they had an answer, we would have heard it by now.  They haven’t been able to come up with a plausible explanation, so their sole defense has been to pretend there are no questions.  The significance of that new e-mail is that the thundering silence of the main stream media has been shattered.  It is about to get loud, very loud.

Democrats are downplaying the need for a select committee.  They may even consider boycotting the committee.  That would be a high risk maneuver.  It would mean that Republicans can ask questions without any input from Democrats.  That is likely to be devastating for the administration. If Pelosi appoints highly partisan democrats, like Elijah Cummings, it has the potential to backfire.  A select committee is a whole different game.  The showboating filibuster days are over.

For a long time Republicans were too terrified to challenge Obama.  They knew the main stream media had Obama’s back and they are still recovering from the backlash regarding the impeachment of Bill Clinton.  That changed overnight.  Republicans are being criticized for not doing enough to stop Obama.  Once Boehner stepped over the line and announced the decision for form a select committee a constitutional confrontation became inevitable.    If he appoints someone like Trey Gowdy to run this committee the Obama administration is in for stormy weather.  Trey Gowdy is a very capable man.

One does not get selected to clerk for the South Carolina Court of Appeals and the United States District Court by accident.  When you combine that with several years’ experience as a federal prosecutor you have some very serious legal talent that cannot be ignored. Mr. Gowdy is going to ask the hard questions and he is going to demand answers.

I suspect the White House knew this was coming, because that would sure explain the decision to hire W. Neil Eggleston.

Boehner basically declared war on the Obama administration.  In any war, there are always casualties on both sides.  It is hard to predict where this ends, but we do know this.      Republicans have replaced the old guard with a fighting general.  That is a pretty good decision when you are preparing for battle.

The Benghazi story is about to become white hot.  During the press briefing today Jonathan Karl got into a heated exchange with Jay Carney.

This story is about to go white hot.  I cannot recall a previous time when a reporter publicly accused a Presidential Press Secretary of lying:

“You knew full well that these Sunday show appearances were going to be dominated by the attacking Benghazi, as they were,”

There have been a lot of heated exchanges in the past, but in this case Jonathan Karl flat out told Carney he knew he was lying.  Carney responded by telling more lies, that Karl quickly refuted:

“You stood there, time after time, and said that she was referring to talking points created by the CIA,” Karl recalled. “Now we see a document that comes from the White House, not from the CIA, attributing the protests to the video.”

It is impossible to deny the obvious fact that this administration was conducting a deliberate cover-up.  The failure of the main stream media to investigate this has resulted in a worst case scenario for the Obama administration.  This story is about to explode at the worst possible time for President Obama and the Democratic Party.  We are about to see Democrats distance themselves from Obama faster than NBA owners distanced themselves from Donald Sterling.  This is going to get really ugly.  The media sharks smell blood in the water and there is no more attractive prey than a President of the United States.

The odor of failure and corruption from the failed Democratic leadership is permeating the atmosphere.  It is getting stronger by the day and it is starting to show up in all the polls.  Now we have new e-mails verifying what has been obvious from the start.  The White House directed a cover-up of what really happened in Benghazi for strictly political reasons.  The following e-mail was obtained by Judicial Watch:

This e-mail is stunning.  It not only proves that Susan Rice lied, it shows the motive for that lie:

“To underscore that these protests are rooted in an Internet video, and not a broader failure of policy;”

While at least some in the main stream media will remain unconvinced, the truth is increasingly difficult to ignore.   This e-mail was specifically intended to prepare Susan Rice to lie on national television.

The memo was copied to Jay Carney, Joshua Ernest, Dan Pfeiffer, Jennifer Palmieri, Erin Pelton, Howli Ledbetter and Davie Plouffe.  They were all in on the cover-up.   This now points directly at the White House.  If it does not reach directly to the President it is perilously close.

I believe the main stream media ignored this story because this is unthinkable.  How do you justify this administration, or any other administration,  deliberately lying about a national security issue?   We always knew what happened but there was no proof.   Now there is proof.  What is most amazing about this e-mail is that this is so incredibly stupid.  It is bad enough that they did this.  It is beyond belief that they documented it in writing.

I recently wrote about the importance of the decision to hire W. Neil Eggleston.  One would suspect that this e-mail may be just the beginning.  This is really bad and if there is one e-mail like this there are probably more.  We have reached the point where the stench cannot longer be ignored.  We know for whom the smell polls.  It polls for Barack Obama and anyone who supported him.

Liberals have a serious problem with regard to the 2014 election.  It is the same problem that always affects liberals at some point.  Nothing liberals believe is true.  None of the liberal strategies have worked in the past, they are not working now and they will not work in the future.  As a result, liberal governments are always thrown out of office when the stench overcomes the rhetoric.  Liberals are very good at stirring up emotions and winning elections.  They just suck at governing.

In addition the only thing certain in politics is change.  After seven years or so voters get the seven year itch and they vote for change.  In 2007 they got change.  Now seven years later, they are probably going to vote for change again.  Even if things were going great, voters would probably vote for change.  When things really suck, as they do now, they will definitely vote for change.  Every political poll shows identical results.  Voters are pissed.  They are pissed at the President.  They are pissed at Congress.  They are pissed with Republicans.  They are pissed with Democrats.  The only question is who voters will hate the most in November.

My hunch is that they will turn on Democrats because of ObamaCare.  Voters are often stupid and naïve, but they will understand two things this election.  They will understand that ObamaCare sucks.  They will also understand that Democrats own ObamaCare lock, stock and barrel.

I know all the theories about how demographics have changed and Republicans will never win another election.  Just keep in mind that most people promoting this theory are the same liberals who are wrong about everything else.  Why would you believe them on this?

Here’s the deal.  Liberals get elected when things are going well because voters forget how bad things get when liberals are in charge.  Conservatives get elected when things are really bad because liberals have been in charge and that always ends up bad.  Things are bad.  Bye by liberals.  The only way to break the cycle would be for liberals to adopt policies that work.  So far, that has never happened.

That is the good news.  The bad news is that while liberals will probably be booted out of office this fall, at some point about seven years down the road, when things are going well again, we will repeat the cycle.

The White House just hired a new chief counsel, W. Neil Eggleston

It looks like Kathryn Ruemmler made the decision to leave.  It is hardly unusually for a White House counsel to leave.  What is unusual is to replace her with someone like W. Neil Eggleston.  This is the kind of attorney you hire when you expect serious charges, really serious charges.

The following quote from the New York Times is interesting:

Her supporters and critics alike agree that Ms. Ruemmler has not pursued any policy agenda, instead limiting her role to analyzing for Mr. Obama what options would be legal and what risks they entailed.

Hmmm…Ms. Ruemmler was the attorney who led the battle to withhold documents from congress.  Key documents are finally being disclosed.  Ms. Ruemmler may have just learned what is in those documents.  She decides it is time to leave.  She is replaced by one of the top criminal defense attorneys in the United States.  Not just a criminal defense attorney, one of the attorneys who assisted in defending Bill Clinton during his impeachment trial.  He was not hired at White House counsel, he was hired as “chief counsel.”  Coincidence?

Republicans historically are really skilled at losing elections they should win.  This year that may be difficult to achieve.  The Democratic Party is self-destructing before our very eyes.  They can’t run on the economy because the economy sucks.  They can’t run on ObamaCare because ObamaCare sucks.  They can’t run on foreign affairs, because our foreign policy sucks.   None of the traditional Democratic scare tactics are working this time.   In addition this administration seems to develop some new scandal on a regular basis.

Things would really look grim for Democrats, if it wasn’t for Republicans.  Republicans have a track record of self-destructiing at a rate too rapid for any Democrat to match.  The latest example is the born-again Christian who got caught smooching with a married staff member.  While the media just giggles hysterically at a Democratic good ole boy doing this kind of crap it is usually a fatal blow for a Republican.  So I think we are in for a race to the bottom.  The question is who Americans will hate more in November.  So far, Democrats are ahead but Republicans have time to catch up.

Then there is the wild card.  That would be Barack Obama.  Democrats might have a chance if Obama just sat down and shut up for six months.  That, of course, assumes that Biden remains under lock and key somewhere.  A lot of Americans are really stupid and they might forget all about Obama if he could just disappear for a while.  But instead Obama is doubling down on stupidity.  The latest example was the Press Conference today where he bragged about the success of ObamaCare.  This is so far over the top that even the main stream media has trouble reporting this with a straight face.

I have given this a lot of thought and suddenly the reality struck home.  For a long time I thought Obama was on a course to destroy the country.  I was not sure this was intentional, because Obama is so naïve and incompetent that if he actually was trying to destroy the country he would probably be doing less harm.  Now I am beginning to think that Obama is on a course to destroy the Democratic Party.  That is what makes Obama so dangerous, for Democrats.  The more he tries to help Democrats in the 2014 election the better chance Republicans have at victory.

Obama is likely to provide the same brilliant leadership for the Democratic Party that he has provided on everything else.  The pattern is clear.  Anything Obama touches gets worse.  The more he does the worse it gets.  With Obama determined to provide the leadership necessary to help Democrats win this election, Republicans have good reason to be optimistic.

This is incredible.  Lois Lerner documents getting a call from the DOJ requesting information from the IRS is response to comments from Senator Whitehouse during a hearing.

“I got a call today from Richard Pilger Direct Elections Crimes Branch at DOJ. ….He wanted to know who at IRS the DOJ folks could talk to about Sen. Whitehouse idea at the hearing that DOJ could piece together false statement cases about applied who “lied” on their 1024s – saying they weren’t planning on doing political activity and then turning around and making large visible political expenditures.”

This is more than enough ammunition to justify both a select committee and a special prosecutor.  It is impossible to pretend that the DOJ can objectively investigate actions that it requested.

It has never been hard to figure out the motivation for the actions taken by both the DOJ and the IRS.  But up until now no one was stupid enough to admit it.  Well that just changed. Lois Lerner not only admitted this, she documented it in writing.  In this day and age how on earth could she be so arrogant and so stupid?  Oh by the way, she wanted to coordinate things with the FEC.  Nice!

This e-mail is devastating and it is just the start.   This is about to blow sky high and none of the main stream media networks will be able to continue ignoring this.  Where there smoke, there fire.  In this we have gun smoke and if this is not enough of a smoking gun, wait until tomorrow.

I am sure most people are familiar with the bizarre showdown between Cliven Bundy and the Bureau of Land Management.  It is already bizarre but it may have just jumped off the weird scale.  According to this article, which is obviously not confirmed, this could be a case of Harry Reid once again trying to profit at tax payer expense:

If shooting results this story will blow up.  My hunch is that the liberal left will be too busy bitching about all those guns in the hands of civilians to notice the assault rifles used by the BLM.  So far, CNN is reporting this as a cattle grazing rights issue over some endangered tortoise, which is bad enough.  If it really turns out to be a power grab by Harry Reid to build another solar project, at tax payer expense, then this could be more than interesting.  Just today there was another story about how the wonderful environmentally safe solar plants are literally burning birds out of the sky.  Nice.  They not only make people like Harry Reid even richer, at tax payer expensive, they kill birds.  Which, in your mind is the more serious threat to the environment:  a few cattle eating weeds that may or may not shelter some desert tortoise or some incredibly ugly sea of mirrors torching eagles?
