THE REASON FOR THE SEASON

The main stream media has been quick to point out that people went to the polls equally disgusted with Democrats and Republicans. But they missed the point. People were angry with Democrats for rubber stamping Barack Obama in his path to failure. They were angry with Republicans because they seemed incapable to even slowing him down. This vote was a mandate for Republicans to get this fixed. But another reason for these elections results may be voter ID laws. This may be that rarest of occasions where Nancy Pelosi accidently told the truth. She said that the reason Democrats lost was because of voter suppression. She may be spot on about that. But what Nancy calls voter suppression the rest of us call limiting voting to people actually eligible to vote and limiting them to voting only once. If we can achieve that standard nationwide, Democrats may find it increasingly difficult to win any elections.

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2014/nov/5/nancy-pelosi-vows-to-stay-on-as-leader/

All through the night we saw vote totals where Republicans seems to be comfortably ahead, yet networks would not call the election.  This was because prior year’s elections always seemed to tilt toward Democrats with late arriving votes from Democratic districts.  That did not happen this time.  Instead, when the final counts were in Republicans won and they won big.

There has been a significant change since 2012.  There have been voter ID laws passed and massive efforts to purge voting records of inegible voters. This may have had more impact that anyone realized.  Certainly Nancy Pelosi thinks so.

If you look at a congressional map today you will discover that Republicans win almost everywhere, except for isolated packets with extremely dense populations.  You know the kind of places where a Democrat machine consistently delivers the votes. There are basically two kinds of places on this planet where candidates from the ruling party routinely receive overwhelming majorities of the vote.  Democratic districts in major metropolitan areas and dictatorships that only pretend to hold free elections.

There is a reason Democrats are fighting voter ID laws at every opportunity. What they really fear is an open and honest election limited to people actually eligible to vote. Now we know why.

DEATH BY A THOUSAND CUTS

Once again the main stream media pundits are missing the point.  Republicans aren’t going to have any major confrontations with Obama, unless he brings this on himself.  Instead they will inflict death by a 1,000 cuts.  They will pass small bills that will have bi-partisan support.  They will not allow Democrats to load up these bills with toxic provisions that could not pass on their own.  Harry Reid no longer has the ability to block legislation. No Democrat has the ability to block legislation. When Republicans controlled the Senate during the Bush Administration, minority Democrats were effective at using Senate rules to block things they did not want. Now Democrats are going to pay a terrible price for the new Senate rules, pushed through by Harry Reid, that render the minority party powerless.

This election wasn’t even close.  Not one single major Republican incumbent, other than the Governor of Pennsylvania, lost re-election.  Republicans not only won all the toss-ups, they won by huge margins.  Democratic bodies litter the landscape.  Even people like Jeanne Shaheen and Mark Warner, who survived, know that they barely dodged a bullet.

Change is coming at the speed of light.  The real Republican leader in congress is Ted Cruz and congress is about to go on Cruz control. Cruz is one of the most brilliant people to ever serve in congress and it would be a huge mistake to underestimate him.

There won’t be many headlines and no real confrontations. They won’t be necessary. Obama has been reduced to a powerless by-stander.  If he tries to veto legislation with bi-partisan support he risks being over-turned. If he tries to rule by executive order Republicans are now ready, willing and ABLE to challenge him. For the first time, ever, Republicans actually have the power to control legislation in both Houses. Now let’s hope and pray the use this power wisely.

THE IDIOT’S GUIDE TO THE ELECTION

Will Republicans win control of the Senate or will Democrats somehow snatch the narrowest of victories out of the ashes of despair.  Sometimes the best way to predict results is to listen to the idiots.  These are the clowns who are consistently wrong on nearly every subject.  If they predict something, odds are very high that the opposite will happen.  My nomination for 2014 goes to Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

http://www.breitbart.com/Breitbart-TV/2014/11/03/Wasserman-Schultz-Obama-Is-Democrats-Best-Asset-in-Election

She reminds me of Baghdad Bob, the spokesman for Iraq during the second Gulf War.  This guy kept going on TV reporting huge victories when it was more than obvious that the U.S. was trouncing the Iraq military.  Whatever he said we instantly knew the opposite was true.

She predicts that Democrats will maintain control of the Senate.  That greatly increases the odds of a Republican sweep.

She predicts that Charlie Crist will be elected Governor of Florida. I can’t imagine anything that would give Rick Scott more confidence.

Then, in the ultimate jaw dropper, she says that “the President is our best asset.”  That explains why so many Democrats running for election are desperately trying to distance themselves from Obama.

So if you start to worry, just remember that Debbie Wasserman Schultz has never been right about anything.  Why on earth would you expect different results this time?

TDM

THE WRITING ON THE WALL

Some people think that we won’t know the final results of this election until early next year.  I seriously doubt that to be the case.  I think people will be shocked at how early in the evening next Tuesday the results become very obvious. Once results in are in regarding the governor’s race in Florida and the Senate Races in Georgia, North Carolina. If Republicans win in Georgia and North Carolina and they win the Senate.

If Scott Brown wins in New Hampshire it is a bad night for Democrats.  If the Republican candidate for Governor in New York miraculously wins, which would be a shock, then we are looking at a rout.  I can’t imagine Cuomo losing in New York, but some people think it is possible.

If Republicans cannot win a big victory in this election, then we are in for a very long night and an even longer 2015 and 2016.  If the American people have not figured out Democrats and Obama by now, they will never figure it out. If Democrats somehow hold on to the Senate, then our worst fears about the changing American voting public will be realized.  If things are not already bad enough to kick Democrats out of power, we are doomed to more of the same.

I hope and pray that the American people will not repeat the act of national insanity we saw in 2012.  Fortunately there is reason for hope   Obama had basically won the election before anyone voted on Election Day in 2012.  That is because the Democratic get out the vote machine was in high gear and the early voting trends were so bad for Republicans that it would have taken a miracle to turn things around.  What makes this more pathetic is that Republicans were totally oblivious to what had happened.  Mitt Romney started the night believing he would be the next President of the United States.  He didn’t even get to finish supper before he knew the dream was over.

It looks like Republicans have learned their lesson.  Early voting is remarkably different this year.  In addition 30 states now require some form of voter ID, so blatant voter fraud is becoming more difficult. In addition, Obama has proven to be a tremendous campaigner, for Republicans. Every time he opens his mouth the odds of Republicans taking over the Senate increase geometrically. He is the gift that keeps on giving. For example the Ebola epidemic was a perfect opportunity for Obama to exploit a crisis.  All he had to do was to look Presidential and do something. But, for whatever reason, he ignored the obvious and embraced the ridiculous.  It is one thing to do that with regard to global warming or even a threat like ISIS.  It is something else when we are threatened by a horrible disease with no known cure.

Perhaps Democrats will pull this out and somehow keep control of the Senate.  If so they will stumble into the next term exhausted, angry and furious at both Harry Reid and Obama.  If they lose across the board, which is at least possible, then they will never forgive either Harry Reid or Obama.

John Kennedy once said that Victory has a thousand fathers but defeat is an orphan.  Democrats are heading for defeat, even if they somehow survive.  The clock is running out on Barack Obama and the only remaining question is how fast this will occur.  In Daniel 5:27 & 28 King Belshazzar asked Daniel to interpret the writing on the wal

“Mene, mene, tekel, parsin”

Mene: God has numbered the days of your reign and brought it to an end.

Tekel: You have been weighed on the scales and found wanting.

Parsin: Your kingdom is divided and given to the Medes and Persians.

Belshazzar was so thrilled that Daniel could interpret this that Daniel was clothed in purple, a gold chain was placed around his neck and he was proclaimed third highest leader in the kingdom.

It didn’t last long Belshazzar was killed that night and Darius the Mede took over the kingdom.

President Obama, thy kingdom has been found wanting

BY A NOSE!

This is absolutely unbelievable.  No matter how skeptical one becomes about this administration, things turn out to be worse than we could imagine. Now the CDC has “quietly” released posters on its website warning that Ebola can be spread by a sneeze:

http://nypost.com/2014/10/29/cdc-admits-droplets-from-a-sneeze-could-spread-ebola/

“If you are sniffling and sneezing, you produce microorganisms that can get on stuff in a room. If people touch them, they could be” infected, said Dr. Meryl Nass, of the Institute for Public Accuracy in Washington, DC.

“Droplet spread happens when germs traveling inside droplets that are coughed or sneezed from a sick person enter the eyes, nose or mouth of another person,”

Talk about an October surprise. After arrogantly telling us we didn’t understand science and you can’t get Ebola from sitting next to someone on the bus, it turns out you could get it from touching the door handle on the way out.

I strongly suspect that Ebola is a lot harder to catch than this implies and that is the real shame.  If they just told people the truth, things would be a lot calmer.  The only thing we know now is that this administration refuses to tell the truth, about anything.  That means the information regarding Ebola is going to come from a lot of sources, most of them wrong.  The CDC has lost the last shred of credibility.  Obama appointing a spin doctor to be Ebola czar and then doing a photo op in the same room with people who may be at risk makes this even worse.

There are reports that there are only 13 hospital rooms in the entire country are capable of properly handling an Ebola patient.  This is a recipe for disaster. FDR famously said the only thing we need to fear is fear itself.  Unfortunately that is no longer true.  What we need to fear is a totally inept government capable to taking any crisis and through inept mismanagement making things geometrically worse.

Governor’s Cuomo and Christy suddenly look a lot better today, because they at least tried to deal with this responsibly.  The doctor who traveled all over New York even after he had symptoms was incredibly irresponsible.  So is the nurse  defying any attempt to quarantine her because she arrogantly believes her medical expertise will protect the world from Ebola.

We are paying a terrible price for promoting junk science.  For years we have been inundated with proof of global warming when behind the scenes real scientists were warning us that this was a big fraud.  The global warming hysteria only cost tax payers billions of dollars and devastated our economy.  The damage from pretending Ebola is under control is incalculable.

THE MOVING VAN

It is really hard to like Van Jones.  He is that rare breed of individual too radical even for the Obama administration.  Public pressure forced him to resign as a White House advisor in September 2009.  That is why it was so stunning to hear him tell the truth about Sarah Palin:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n7lW8gIN3OI

Van Jones admitted that Democrats realized that Sarah Palin was actually very smart and they considered her to be a real threat.

“Sarah Palin …people forget.  She had the Democratic party shaking in our boots in 2008.  She came out, she gave that speech at the convention.  That was, hands down, one of the bust convention speeches – not by a woman, by anybody in 2008.  People were running for the hills.”

When Dana Loesh pointed out that the narrative by Democrats in 2008 was that Palin was too dumb to be considered for office, Van Jones said the following:

“Now it can be told!  Now it can be told! We were scared.”

The main stream media owes a huge apology, not just to Sarah Palin, to the entire country.  At the same time they were ignoring Barack Obama painfully thin resume, they participated in the irresponsible personal assault on Sarah Palin. The news media descended on Wasilla, Alaska pouring over Sarah Palin’s library card records. They couldn’t find anyone available to investigate Barack Obama..Saturday Night Live (“SNL”) ran a steady skit featuring a Sarah Palin clone who was ridiculed as a stupid, out of touch, female.  Imagine if SNL had run a skit with a black candidate and portrayed him as too stupid to run for office. No one dared hint that Obama wasn’t up to the job, because they feared being charged with racism. Yet they showed zero restraint with regard to the unrelenting sexist attacks on Sarah Palin.

The Democratic narrative on Sarah Palin was utter nonsense then just as it is utter nonsense now.  This continues to this day. Just recently the main stream media hyperventilated over a meaningless physical altercation involving some members of the Palin family, but not involving Sarah Palin.  But they didn’t notice that Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, had to resign from the Navy because of a cocaine habit.

This is soldi proof that Democrats were lying about Sarah Palin because they were terrified that people would listen to her.  Democrats will say and do anything to get elected.  They will destroy anyone or anything that stands in the way of power.

This video should be forwarded to all your liberal friends with the following comment:

Liberal Democrats handled you a pile of pure crap and you all bought it hook, line and sinker.”  “You must be really proud!”

CHANGE IS COMING!

The following article in the NYT is very revealing.  It is interesting to note the panic among Democratic candidates.

http://www.nytimes.com/2014/10/22/opinion/alison-lundergan-grimes-kay-hagan-and-other-candidates-avoid-obama.html?_r=0

The NYT is stunned to learn that none of the Democratic candidates are not running for re-election promoting the success of the stimulus package:

Few voters know that the 2009 stimulus bill contributed heavily to the nation’s economic recovery, saving and creating 2.5 million jobs. Not a word of it is spoken on the campaign trail, where little credit is also given to the White House for months of promising economic news.

Few voters know this because it is absurd to pretend our economy is doing well. We have a record low number of people with jobs and changing the way we count unemployment is not a substitute for an actual paycheck.

The NYT is also shocked to learn that few candidates are not running on the success of ObamaCare:

Similarly, the Affordable Care Act, one of the most far-reaching and beneficial laws to have been passed by Congress in years, gets little respect even among the Democratic candidates who voted for it. Though none support the Republican position of repeal, most talk about the need to “fix” the health law, as if it were a wreck alongside the road rather than a vehicle providing millions of people with health coverage.

The reason Democrats are talking about a need to fix the health care law is that it actually is a wreck along the road.  One has to wonder how bad it would have to get before the NYT noticed.  If the NYT considers this to be success it is frightening to imagine failure.

This is proof positive that the main stream liberal media is not just biased, it is delusional.  This opinion was written by the NYT editorial board.  How much more out of touch can you get?  No wonder these people believe in global warming.  I am surprised they don’t believe the Easter Bunny is some reincarnated Deity.

It sure looks like Democrats running for election are finally waking up to reality. One suspects that their constituents are sending this message loud and clear. We are two weeks away from fundamental change in this country.  Even if Democrats miraculously stay in power, there will still be major changes. If Republicans win they will consider this election to be a mandate for action.  But even if they don’t, surviving Democrats are unlikely to rush back onto the Obama bandwagon.  Those who survive will know that this happened in spite of Obama, not because of him.  The NYT may not realize that, or more likely may not want to believe that but change is on the way.

TDM

NUMBERS

According to Fox News, if the election was held today, and the current polls are accurate, then Republicans would win control of the Senate by a healthy margin.  Republicans would end up with 53 seats and Democrats would end up with 47 seats.  What is shocking is that it is possible that Republicans will do even better than that.  For example if Republicans were to pick up three more seats, which is certainly possible, they would end up with 56 seats and Democrats would have 44 seats.  That result would be considered a mandate by both parties for significant change.  Some of those conservative Democrats might just join with Republicans at least with regard to important issues.  Currently no Senate Democrat in his right mind would cross swords with Harry Reid.  But if Republicans take control of the Senate, Harry Reid will be reduced to a loud noise in the background.  That will not only impact Republicans, it will impact Democrats.  The significance of Republicans taking back control of the Senate cannot be overstated.

At the same time Senate Democrats are desperately trying to distance themselves from Obama, he is making the election all about him.  Just recently Obama said that those Democrats trying to avoid him are secretly supporting his policies.

Maybe Obama thought that only the five remaining devoted followers would hear what he said to Al Sharpton:

http://hotair.com/archives/2014/10/20/obama-hey-all-these-red-state-democrats-running-away-from-me-are-strong-supporters-who-vote-with-me/

“Well, look, here’s the bottom line, we’ve got a tough map.  A lot of states that are contested this time are states that I didn’t win.  And so some of the candidates there, you know, it is difficult for them to have me in the state because the Republicans will use that to try to fan Republican turn-out.  The bottom line is, though, that these are all folks who vote with me.  They have supported my agenda in Congress. “…So, this isn’t about my feelings being hurt.  These are folks who are strong allies and supporters of me.”

Perhaps Obama secretly thinks he is still wildly popular. When you consider the other issues where he is oblivious to the obvious this is entirely possible.  Regardless of why he said it, it is the gift that keeps on giving.  By all accounts Obama is absolutely toxic in this election and he just gave Republicans the ultimate campaign video clip.  That sound you hear is Democratic strategists all over the country throwing up.  If Democrats get pummeled across the board on November 4th they will blame Obama.

I guess when you think about it, why would any expect Obama to do better at fighting Democrats than he has done fighting ISIS?

TDM

BROMIDROPHOBIA

BROMIDROPHOBIA = Fear of “BO”

Just two years ago Democrats thought they were on their way to eliminating the Republican Party.  Who could blame them?  They had just succeeded in re-electing the most radical, naïve and incompetent person to ever run for President of the United States.  Getting him elected the first time was an accomplishment.  Getting him re-elected caused Democrats to believe they could elect anyone, anywhere, anytime, regardless of circumstances and with zero regard to qualifications.  What could possibly go wrong?

All of the opinion polls show that Americans are equally upset with Republicans and Democrats in congress.  But the reason for that constempt is very different.  The consistent theme here is that both parties are sick and tired of congress, but for the exact opposite reasons.  Democrats are angry because congress has stood by while Obama  mucked things up to a fair thee well and they fear the gravy train running off the rails.  Republicans are angry because congress has been either unwilling or unable to stop Obama from trashing the constitution and shoving idiot programs down our collective throats.

The reason this election may be a real wave election is that both parties are exhibiting symptom of the same thing; “bromidrophobia” or fear of “BO.”  With Democrats the primary symptom is the rapid onset of amnesia where Obama’ strongest supporters can’t remember voting for him.  With Republicans it is the sudden growth of a spine and promises of the resolve necessary to stop Obama.  They are both lying.

The question is whether Democrats will be able to generate enthusiastic voter turnout from people who are depressed, tired, disillusioned and skeptical that Obama is capable of doing anything right under any circumstances.  Or will Republicans energize voters who believe everything we stand for is on the line and this may be our last chance to save the country.

Perhaps I am wrong, but I suspect that Republicans are prepared to crawl two miles on broken glass just to get within the shadow of an election box. Republicans are disgusted with Republicans in congress, but they fear Democrats in congress. I think that Democrats will stay home, because while they don’t like Republicans or Republican parties they flat out don’t trust Obama.

CRUISE CONTROL

Just when you thought the Ebola crisis couldn’t get worse, it got worse.  It turns out that a lab surpvisor from Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital, who apparently worked on the blood on the Ebola victim, decided this was a great time for a cruise:

http://abcnews.go.com/Health/ebola-scare-creates-utter-panic-caribbean-cruise-ship/story?id=26276019

Imagine this October surprise.  You are on a cruise ship.  Suddenly there is announcement saying “that someone who worked in the lab who handled the person in Dallas’s blood was on the ship.”  Then you learn that the cruise ship has placed her in isolation, but don’t worry because there’s no risk. And by the way, the ship is headed back to Texas, because no other port will let you dock.

The following article includes an eye witness account of life on board that ship:

Though the cruise line has not released the name of the passenger or her location, the Malones fear that her room may be on their floor because when Jeremy walked outside his room this morning, he saw a group of 30 to 40 workers gathered with buckets of what looked like cleaning chemicals.

“Some of them had masks on,” Jon Malone said.

“They had a pink liquid in clear spray bottles and they had little wagons that had grey containers – like mop buckets – filled with chemicals,” he said. “They’re cleaning elevators. I’ve seen people with pink liquid cleaning the bar area and the handrails.”

How about that seafood buffet?

John Kerry, who hasn’t noticed the Marine imprisoned in Mexico for making the wrong turn lept into action on this one.  Kerry called the Belizean Prime Minister and begged him to allow the ship to dock so the passenger to be evacuated. He was turned down.  Then he tried to arrange for a helicopter evacuation to a medevac plane but that was turned down too. It turns out the Belizean Prime Minister is not about to take advice from John Kerry.

This is insane.  Obama is wondering if he needs to consider a travel ban for people traveling to and from West Africa.  It is far too late for that.  If anything, we are likely to see a travel ban for anyone traveling to or from the United States.

We already know that the CDC let someone who now has Ebola travel on a Frontier Airlines flight, even after she reported having a fever. We also know that Obama starred in a video for people in West Africa saying that you can’t get Ebola from sitting next to someone on a bus.  He missed the part where the CDC said if you have Ebola symptom don’t take public transportation because you might expose others to the disease.  Impressive!

So what could make this worse?  Easy, appoint an Ebola czar and have him report to both Susan Rice and Lisa Monaco.  Susan Rice is the person famous for spouting utter nonsense on all the Sunday talk shows following Benghazi.  Lisa Monaco is the Homeland Security Advisor who inspired people to call for an Ebola czar in the first place.  Then pick someone who was Chief of Staff for both Al Gore and Joe Biden, possibly the only two people in the country less qualified to be President than Barack Obama.  Oh, by the way, he had a key role in approving the $535 million loan to Solyndra. I think the real problem here is that anyone acceptable to Obama is extremely unlikely to be qualified for the position. It is increasingly difficult to be optimistic about this.

The good news is that the U.S. health care community will just ignore these clowns and do the necessary themselves. They are not about to rely solely on the CDC to deal with this and that is very good news.  They will review the CDC guidelines, but they will also apply something totally missing in Washington, D.C., logic and common sense.  In addition, we are going to see other people step in to the gap with some common sense recommendations to greatly reduce the risk. Following is an example of exactly that:

Re:  Ebola Situation & PrecautionsTo our friends, clients, and trading partners:

I spoke with a friend of mine this morning who is a physician who specializes in infectious diseases.  He said that the infectious diseases medical community is becoming very concerned about a potential outbreak of Ebola…  more than is being indicated in the press.  He is also concerned that Ebola could mutate.  Watch the movie Outbreak if you want to know what could happen if Ebola breaks out.  God help us if this happens.

Our organization is taking the Ebola threat very seriously.  We are starting to implement  precautions so that our employees avoid contracting and spreading Ebola.  We encourage you to take the same precautions in your business and personal lives.

For People Who Travel

  • Carry some Clorox Wipes with you.  Buy a bottle, pull out 10, and place them in a Ziploc bag.
  • When you get on the plane (or train, bus, or ferry), sanitize your (1) arm rests; (2) your head rest; (3) your tray tables; (4) your light and call buttons; (5) your air conditioning controller; and, (6) your television controller with the wipes.
  • Touch as little as possible.
  • Wash your hands the second you depart the aircraft.
  • Wash your hands when you get to your hotel or place of business.
  • Avoid shaking people’s hands.  Tell them:  “Our company is telling people to avoid shaking hands.  Instead, we are doing ‘elbow bumps’ like sailors to avoid contracting or spreading Ebola.”  They’ll laugh and “elbow bump” you.  Then, they’ll start doing it themselves.  Trust me, the temporary “societal discomfort” is worth not contracting Ebola and dying.
  • Try not to use public bathrooms.  If you must use a public bathroom, wash your hands thoroughly.  Use a tissue when opening and closing the bathroom stalls and bathroom doors.  The bathroom is the place on the aircraft (or train, bus, or ferry) most likely to contain Ebola, as Ebola is spread through contact with bodily fluids.

For Everyone

  • Until we are through this scare, don’t shake hands.  Bump elbows, like sailors do, to say “Hello” and “Good bye.”  Sailors have done this for years to avoid spreading diseases like Legionnaires Disease.
  • Be on the look out for symptoms of Ebola.  Unfortunately, early symptoms of Ebola resemble flu conditions (which is alarming, since we are going into “flu season”).
  • Take the same precautions as people who travel in your business and personal lives.
  • Cough into your sleeve (my daughter taught me this one…  she learned it at school).
  • Avoid putting your fingers into your mouth, nose, and eyes (e.g. – Don’t lick delicious BBQ sauce off your finger.)

Signs & Symptoms of Ebola

Signs and symptoms of Ebola normally begin abruptly within 5 – 10 days of infection with
Ebola.

Early signs and symptoms include:

  • Fever
  • Severe headache
  • Joint and muscle aches
  • Chills
  • Weakness

Over time, symptoms become increasingly severe and may include:

  •  Nausea and vomiting
  • Diarrhea (may be bloody)
  • Red eyes
  • Raised rash
  • Chest pain and cough
  • Stomach pain
  • Severe weight loss
  • Bleeding, usually from the eyes, and bruising (people near death may bleed from other orifices, such as ears, nose, and rectum)
  • Internal bleeding

The incubation period can be up to 21 days after infection.

If you have any of these symptoms, please see your doctor immediately and STAY HOME.

Good luck and God bless us all!!!

Good advice.  This is why Ebola is unlikely to be an umitigated disaster.  Yes, the Obama administration has botched this big time and they will botch it even more in the future.  But we are not totally dependent on the Federal Government. In spite of the best efforts of the Obama administration, we will figure out a way to handle this.

That does not mean there won’t be a lot of problems.  There is always the usual core group of idiots.  Like the guy with the clip board standing next to someone in a hazmat suit taking notes to make sure they were doing it right. But ultimately common sense will prevail in spite of the best efforts of the Obama administration to turn crisis into catastrophe.
