BOOM!

It was fun watching CNN respond to the FBI shocking announcement that they have reopened the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s private server.  At first they were in a state of shock and actually reported on this objectively.  Within an hour, they brought in a panel of experts and desperately tried to change the story to whether or not Director Comey should have sent that letter.  Good luck with that.  This is a bomb and is almost certain to end the slim chance Hillary had at getting elected President of the United States.

I know that many of you reading this have been depressed by the talking heads in both parties saying that Hillary was way ahead in the polls and certain to win.  The reality is that this election was extremely close before this bombshell.  The only polls that showed Hillary with a double digit lead were conducted by the mainstream media and most of them over sampled Democrats.  Actually, they did more than that.  They took the data and adjusted it for “expected voter turnout.”  Let me translate that.  They were predicting that 37% of voters would be Democrat and 29% would be Republican.  This is based on what happened in 2008 and 2012.  But in 2008 and 2012 black voters turned out in record numbers and almost all of them voted for Barack Obama.  In 2008 he got 96% of the black vote.  In 2012 he got 93% of the black vote.  It is insane to expect that to happen this year, but that is exactly the turnout model that the pundits were using.  This is the year of Colin Kaepernick and blacks are more likely to sit down and refuse to participate than they are to vote in droves.

Gallop measures this every week and it consistently shows close to an even split between Republicans and Democrats at about 30%.  Democrats may have a 2 or 3 point advantage, but no more than that.  Independents now represent about 40% of the voters.  Every poll, before weighting, shows similar results.  Hillary gets about 40% and Trump gets about 40%.  Approximately 60% of the voters think Donald Trump would be the worst possible choice as President.  Approximately 60% of the voters think Hillary Clinton would be the worst possible choice as President.  The reality is that in 11 days voters will have to decide between two terrible choices.  Odds are they won’t vote for anyone, they will vote against the person they fear the most.

With this FBI announcement, Hillary Clinton sealed the deal. She has no acceptable answer for this.  What little credibility she had was just shredded.  Her news conference was so bad that even Anderson Cooper had to note that she didn’t actually answer any questions. Jeffery Tobin, in a rare moment of honestly, said that “if” Hillary was elected President there would be a demand for a special prosecutor to investigate this. In a race to the bottom, with the choice between two evils, Hillary just won. One reason this is so devastating is that it is so obviously true.

Unless Democrats come up with an even bigger bomb regarding Donald Trump, this is over.  Odds are the polls that come out Monday will be stunningly bad for Hillary.  Yes, a lot of people are stupid, but not that stupid.  Don’t be surprised to see a lot of Democrats throw Hillary Clinton under the bus next week in a desperate and probably fruitless attempt to distance them from disaster.  It’s a beautiful thing.

FOR A MOMENT LIKE THIS

Last night I watched Megyn Kelly and she was clearly on a mission to smear Trump with the latest sex scandal allegations. She started with Mike Pence, who did not rise to the bait but who was clearly annoyed at her focus on this subject and who was somewhat defensive. Then she pulled this on Newt Gingrich and the result was explosive. The video is below:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-fix/wp/2016/10/25/you-are-fascinated-with-sex-that-megyn-kelly-newt-gingrich-showdown-was-one-for-the-ages/

This is exactly the response needed and it was delivered brilliantly. Gingrich, who is hardly a saint, nailed it when he said, correctly, that Megyn Kelly was allowing the alleged sexual misconduct by Donald Trump to become the focal point of her coverage. He then turned it around by daring Megyn to call Bill Clinton a sexual predator.

This is exactly how Donald Trump can win this election. Not by threatening to sue the women who are making these accusations. That just makes him look defensive. He can win by pointing out what is beyond obvious. The MSM only get upset about this stuff when a Republican does it. They ignore similar, and in the case of Bill Clinton, worse behavior by Democrats. No one is excusing this behavior, but this is not exactly unusual when dealing with rich powerful men.

I think a lot of people are going to watch this video, which is pretty fun to watch, and say: “right on Newt, about time.”

During the 2012 primary campaign, Newt had a moment like this that totally turned around the election, for a while. This time he did it with less than two weeks before the flag goes up and it has the potential to change everything. The reality is that at least some of the allegations against Trump are probably true, but it is obvious that this is a smear campaign fueled by the Clinton Campaign and the MSM in a desperate attempt to avoid reporting on Hillary. If that changes, everything changes.

I think it will change, because I think the MSM will start trying to ‘xplain’ why Newt got this wrong and in doing so, they will be making his point.

SUNDAY NIGHT FOOSBALL

Did you watch the game between the Seahawks and the Cardinals tonight? It was so bad, it became great. This reminds me of when Alex Karras was a commentator on Monday night football. He was watching a similar contest when he said: “I don’t know if we are watching a great defensive struggle or just piss poor offense.” That describes this imitation game perfectly. I would throw in an assist to the referees. Every time either team seemed to make a big play, the referees called holding, on someone. Regardless of the reason, neither team seemed capable of moving the ball. Arizona kicked one field goal and had another one blocked. Seattle seemed on the verge of losing 3 – 0, when they blocked an Arizona punt. The result was that Seattle made a field goal and the game was tied.

The overtime was even worse. Both teams miraculous drove down field, a little, and both made field goals. Interestingly there were no holding calls in overtime. Did the plays suddenly learn how to block or did the referees suddenly develop vision problems. It boggles the mind. In any event both teams kicked field goals. It was tied again. This turned out to be just the start of the theatre of the absurd. Both teams missed short field goals and the game end up in a 6 – 6 tie.

Just when you thought maximum harm to the NFL was done by losing quarterback Colin Kaepernick wearing a Black Panther tee shirt to the postgame press conference while explaining why he was so pathetic, Seattle and Arizona put on this dud.

I think that the NFL has become a metaphor for this election. It has become a scoreless tie where people are fed up with both teams. Once again we can give an assist to the officials (political polls and professional pundits). If you believe ABC, then Hillary is up by 15 and Donald has zero chance. Of course most people thought that when Arizona was lined up on the one yard line to kick a field go, Seattle had none chance. Then there is the IBD poll that shows Trump slightly ahead. Are you kidding me? Somebody is drinking the happy juice here. We just know that both of these polls can’t possibly be right. It is interesting to note that WikiLeaks recently revealed e-mails where Democrats were planning on colluding with pollsters to make Hillary look good by oversampling Democrats. The ABC poll had 9% more Democrats. This makes sense to liberals, because they believe a majority of smart people are liberal Democrats, so they only their opinion matters.

It is crystal clear that this campaign with stagger to the finish line and one of the two candidates, against all odds, will lose to the other. It boggles the mind, but we could conceivably end up in a tie, that will end up being decided by an evenly split Supreme Court. The only thing certain is that everyone, and I do mean everyone, will be sick and tired of the entire process. Perhaps next time we should just hold a coin toss to determine the winner. Just make sure it isn’t one of the alleged fake coins used by Hillary to win the Iowa caucuses.

INTERNET ARMAGEDDON

The following article in Reuters is beyond stunning.  The title reads:

U.S. vote authorities warned to be alert to Russian hacks faking fraud – officials

http://af.reuters.com/article/worldNews/idAFKCN12L015?sp=true

Clearly the Obama administration is panicked about the prospect of someone (?Russian hackers?) distributing what they consider to be evidence of massive voter fraud.

“hackers could post documents, some of which might be falsified, that are designed to create public perceptions of widespread voter fraud, the officials said.”

“U.S. officials familiar with hacking directed against American voting systems said evidence indicates that suspected Russian government-backed hackers have so far tried to attack voter registration databases operated by more than 20 states.”

We know that the DNC computer system was hacked, by someone.  That is why WikiLeaks has so many private e-mails from Clinton campaign officials.

We know that the U.S. Government is trying desperately to block WikiLeaks from releasing more documents:

http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/u-s-urged-ecuador-act-against-assange-n669271

Now read the following, from the Reuters argument:

“Clinton supporters said Trump is unwittingly aiding an effort by Russian President Vladimir Putin to undercut the credibility of the vote. Washington and Moscow are at odds over several issues, from Russian involvement in the Ukraine conflict, the war in Syria and cyber attacks.”

“Trump does not even know he is being manipulated,” said Michael Morell, a former deputy CIA director who has endorsed Clinton. “Trump is an unwitting agent of Putin.”

The U.S. government is terrified that “someone” is about to post documents that purport to be evidence of massive voter fraud.  When they say some of these may be falsified, it is an admission that some of them will be genuine.  If someone actually posts documentation proving massive voter fraud, the results could be catastrophic.  The initial response will be a desperate attempt by the MSM and the Obama administration to discredit these documents.  They will do more than that.  They will take drastic steps to try and prevent them from being posted at all.

Keep that in mind when you read the following article:

http://mashable.com/2016/10/21/sites-across-internet-struggle-after-cyberattack/#H6qlbgpqgOqr

Those who would steal elections with massive voter fraud are capable of doing almost anything to stay in power.  This is impossible to predict, but it is likely to be beyond explosive.

BRILLIANTLY STUPID

Donald Trump refused to say whether or not he would accept the results of the national election.  Democrats were outraged, having developed amnesia about Gore disputing the 2000 election and Hillary Clinton saying in 2002 that the 2000 election was rigged.  The traditional Republican Establishment clowns immediately started waiving the white flags of surrender and condemned Trump as well.  The problem for both of them is that Trump has a point.  There is literally video of Democrats “bragging” about stealing elections.  There are numerous reports of fraudulent voter registration records all over the country.  So if this was stupid, it was a very brilliantly stupid because the current topic of conversation is now voter fraud.  When 72% of voters are concerned about voter fraud, the MSM is going to have a hard time trying to dismiss this as nonsense.  People know better.  The record is clear, Republicans are totally for voter ID and Democrats are always for letting anyone and everyone vote.  This is a winning issue for Trump and if he can keep the topic on voter fraud, it might really matter.

Donald Trump had 100% name recognition before the debate.  Hillary Clinton had 100% name recognition before the debate.  Approximately 60% of voters hate Trump and approximately 60% hate Hillary.  That means the winner of the election is going to be the person who convinces the most people to vote against the other guy.  The bottom line is this.  I doubt that anyone changed their mind about Trump.  But, up until now Hillary has gotten a free ride from the MSM with regard to the e-mails, Benghazi, the Clinton Foundation, and Partial Birth Abortion.  There is a reason Clinton does not give press conferences and she is almost never interviewed by a real journalist.  Up until last night, no one was able to force Hillary to answer tough questions.  Chris Wallace changed that.

WALLACE: Secretary Clinton, I want to clear up your position on this issue, because in a speech you gave to a Brazilian bank, for which you were paid $225,000, we’ve learned from the WikiLeaks, that you said this, and I want to quote. “My dream is a hemispheric common market with open trade and open borders.” So that’s the question…

WALLACE: Secretary Clinton, I want to pursue your plan, because in many ways it is similar to the Obama stimulus plan in 2009, which has led to the slowest GDP growth since 1949.

WALLACE: In this bucket about fitness to be president, there’s been a lot of developments over the last 10 days since the last debate. I’d like to ask you about them. These are questions that the American people have. Secretary Clinton, during your 2009 Senate confirmation hearing, you promised to avoid even the appearance of a conflict of interest with your dealing with the Clinton Foundation while you were secretary of state, but emails show that donors got special access to you. Those seeking grants for Haiti relief were considered separately from nondonors, and some of those donors got contracts, government contracts, taxpayer money. Can you really say that you kept your pledge to that Senate committee? And why isn’t what happened and what went on between you and the Clinton Foundation, why isn’t it what Mr. Trump calls pay to play?

In addition Trump pointed out that there is video of Democrat operatives bragging about inciting violence at his campaign events.  Hillary didn’t have a response to that.

Donald pushed her on the e-mails and she did not have a response for that either:

TRUMP: And frankly, those stories have been largely debunked. And I really want to just talk about something slightly different.

She mentions this, which is all fiction, all fictionalized, probably or possibly started by her and her very sleazy campaign. But I will tell you what isn’t fictionalized are her e-mails, where she destroyed 33,000 e-mails criminally, criminally, after getting a subpoena from the United States Congress.

What happened to the FBI, I don’t know. We have a great general, four-star general, today you read it in all of the papers, going to potentially serve five years in jail for lying to the FBI. One lie. She’s lied hundreds of times to the people, to Congress, and to the FBI. He’s going to probably go to jail. This is a four-star general. And she gets away with it, and she can run for the presidency of the United States? That’s really what you should be talking about, not fiction, where somebody wants fame or where they come out of her crooked campaign.

For the first time, Hillary Clinton was backed into a corner and forced to answer specific questions.  She floundered badly, live in front of 75 million people.  At least some of the viewers who watched the debate were exposed to the real Hillary Clinton for the first time.  This has the potential to be devastating. If you thought Trump was rude and arrogant, nothing that happened last night changed your opinion.  But if you thought that the complaints about Hillary Clinton were just rumors and innuendos from the vast right wing conspiracy you just got a harsh dose of reality.  The charges are very real, they are well documented and Hillary doesn’t have any answers.

If I were in the Clinton camp I would suggest holding off on selecting which furniture you want to steal from the White House this time.

PRINCE OF PLAYERS

One of my favorite movies was the 1955 film “Prince of Players” where Edwin Booth, the brother of John Wilkes Booth was played by Richard Burton. In the movie, weeks after his brother assassinated President Lincoln, Edwin Booth returns to the stage to play Hamlet. When the curtain rises he is confronted by an angry crowd. That is easy to understand, under the circumstances. His brother was the most hated man in America. Booth (Richard Burton) is sitting there while the crowd is literally pummeling him with anything they can throw. The rest of the cast flees the stage in horror, but Booth does not move. He just sits their stoically absorbing their fury. Finally everything changes when one protestor yells, “He’s got guts.” Eventually the crowd stops screaming and starts clapping. Gradually, the rest of the cast returns and Booth goes on with the play.

In many ways the Prince of Players reminds me of Donald Trump. Never in our history has one person received such vicious, unrelenting negative coverage by the press. It clearly has become personal and it is obvious that many in the MSM absolutely despise the man. When those awful tapes were released the MSM attacked with all its fury. In many ways, Trump deserved their scorn; the tapes were indeed that bad. But I am beginning to think the MSM has made an enormous mistake. Instead of destroying Trump, they just may have exposed him as a man of unusual strength and courage. Trump definitely has his faults, but he also has guts. At some point one has to admire a man who can absorb such punishment without backing down. If people start to admire Trump for his raw intestinal fortitude, the MSM media, on mission to destroy him, may ironically propel him into the White House.

When you think about it, the most important characteristic of a President of the United States is strength of character. Strength of character does not mean being a choir boy who obeys all the rules. It is rather a flawed human being capable of making impossible decisions. FDR and Churchill both ordered mass bombing raids on civilian populations. How does one justify giving such an order? The answer is quite simply that both men realized that the most unethical decision they could make is one that would let either Germany or Japan win that war. Yet most of us cannot imagine ordering a bombing raid that would level a city and destroy 100,000 innocent civilians. I definitely would not want to be confronted with that kind of decision. These are not necessarily nice people, but they are necessary people. We are all very fortunate that FDR was President of the United States and Winston Churchill was Prime Minister of Great Britain during World War II.

Perhaps it is time that people start to ask a simple question. What, exactly, are we looking for in a Commander in Chief? I think choosing a person with guts is a good place to start.

SHE’S LYING TO YOU TOO!

In case you think this election is over, check out what Hillary said that was just released by wiki-leaks.  If you don’t think this is going to hurt her with Muslims and African Americans, then you are assuming, like her, that they can’t read and write.  She said no one will admit the real problem with our immigration policies:

“The main reason behind successful immigration should be painfully obvious to even the most dimwitted of observers: Some groups of people are almost always highly successful given only half a chance (Jews*, Hindus/Sikhs and Chinese people, for example), while others (Muslims, blacks** and Roma***, for instance) fare badly almost irrespective of circumstances.”

For years we have been inundated with the myth that Republicans are racists while people like Bill and Hillary Clinton are the pillars of the civil rights movement. If a Republican said something like this, it would be front page news.  The screams of racism would fill the air ways.  Odds are no MSM outlet will even report on this.  They would rather convince themselves that while Hillary lies to everyone else, when she says she agrees with them, somehow, miraculously, she is telling the truth.

END OF AN ERROR!

I do not know who will be the next President of the United States, but it will not be Donald Trump. Hillary could literally drop dead and she would still beat him after this idiotic video surfaced. This is unbelievable. No, sorry, the problem is that it is very believable. Is this really a surprise? Is there anything about this inconsistent with everything we know about the man? For months I have desperately trying to convince myself that Trump wasn’t “THAT” bad.  Anything would be better than Hillary, “Right?”  Unfortunately the answer clearly is yes, he is exactly “THAT” bad. Never Trump was right all along.  The only question at this point is whether or not Trump will man up and withdraw for the good of the country.

Several months ago I privately told friends that I thought there was a significant chance that neither Hillary Clinton nor Donald Trump would be candidates for President on Election Day. The reason was that neither candidate came close to having the character and temperament necessary to be a Commander in Chief. I thought one or more of them would self-destruct. I figured if one of them went, odds were pretty high they would both go. But to be honest, that seemed impossible as recently as yesterday. It doesn’t seem so impossible today. This is a reminder that life can change in the blink of an eye and the eye just blinked. I really don’t see how Trump survives this. Hillary could be indicted tomorrow and it probably wouldn’t be enough to save Trump. Republicans are abandoning Trump as we speak. Don’t be surprised to see some Democrats and the MSM make a least a feeble attempt to save Trump. Right now the Democratic Party and the MSM both WANT Donald Trump to stay in the race.

But imagine Trump withdrawing to be replaced by Mike Pence. A lot of senior Democrats are doing exactly that and it has to be terrifying. When Hillary does feel up to campaigning, she can’t draw a crowd big enough to fill a phone booth. No one even pretends to be excited about her vision for the future. She has simply been playing the “No Trump” card assuming nothing else would be required. That came close to being accurate. But, if Trump withdraws the “No Trump” card becomes worthless and there is no Hillary card. Let’s be blunt here, Bill is looking really old and Hillary looks pretty feeble. The Clinton machine is yesterday’s news. Odds are I am not the only one who noticed that. If Hillary starts to look like the biggest loser, anything is possible. The only thing certain is uncertainty.

KAINE AND ABLE

Before the debate, I was predicting that Mike Pence would outperform Tim Kaine. That was an easy prediction. But I never dreamed it would be this bad. This was definitely the most one-sided debate I have ever seen. Mike Pence won in every way possible.

No pundit is even pretending that Kaine won this puppy. Instead they are desperately hoping that MSM fact checking will miraculously grasp victory from the jaws of defeat. The fact checking is idiotic. For example Kaine said that Trump wants more nations to have nuclear weapons and Pence said that is not true. The MSMS considers this to be a lie by Pence; but is it? Only an idiot would believe that Trump really wants more countries to have nuclear weapons. This is a classic example of word parsing by the MSM grossly distorting the context. What Trump actually said was that if countries like Iran had nuclear weapons he would have no problems with countries like Japan getting them too. Trump was dealing with the reality that the Obama administration has paved the way for Iran to get nuclear weapons. Numerous experts have agreed that if Iran gets a nuclear weapon, other countries will demand that they too get nuclear weapons. How, exactly, could we tell them no? This is not a desire by Trump to see more nuclear weapons; it is only a rational response to the problem created by the stupidity of the Obama administration. The New York Post called this “remarkably disingenuous and dishonest.” In reality it was the New York Post that was “remarkably disingenuous and dishonest.

Kaine also pointed out that both Pence and Trump said Vladimir Putin was a stronger leader than Barack Obama. The MSM says that Pence denied that. But contrary to MSM spin, Pence did not deny that, he just pointed out the significant difference between “strong” and “good.” The MSM can’t grasp the concept. Most unbiased people don’t have that problem. When Trump said Putin was a stronger leader than Obama, he was just reporting the facts. Putin is a stronger and more effective leader than Obama. Trump never hinted that Putin was a good leader or anything resembling our friend.  If someone had asked FDR if Adolph Hitler was a strong leader, he would have said yes. Few would accuse him of praising Hitler.

Normally a Vice Presidential debate does not matter. But this year a whole lot of people hate both candidates. A majority of people hate Hillary Clinton and a majority of people hate Donald Trump. Very few people are thrilled with having to vote for either one. So what happens if you can’t bring yourself to vote for either Presidential Candidate? You can’t vote for Gary Johnson, because that would be insane. Perhaps I am wrong, but I suspect that a lot of people will make their decision based on the VP candidate. Normally that would be absurd, but this year, that actually makes sense. Either VP could end up being President of the United States, sooner rather than later. If people are equally disgusted with both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump they may just make their choice based on who is second in line.

In the meantime, Kaine clearly bombed and since this was the only VP debate, he has no opportunity to redeem himself. If you watched this debate with a shred of objectivity there was only one person on that stage that looked remotely qualified to be Commander in Chief. There was Kaine and there was Pence is actually looked Able. Perhaps Kaine really isn’t this stupid and he just fell on his sword for Hillary. Regardless of why, he was just plain awful. Even the liberal Democratic pundits admitted that Pence wiped the floor with him.

PAST PENCE

The main stream media is trying to portray the Vice Presidential debate as boring and meaningless. Translation, they don’t want you to watch.  In most years, they would be right. But, this is not most years. Up until now this campaign has been a mess with both candidates spending most of their time throwing mud at each other. Both have no problem finding ammunition. The MSM would have one believe that Trump being rude and insulting is just as important as Hillary being extremely careless with classified information. If Mike Pence can turn this into an adult conversation instead of a shouting match it could be devastating for Hillary Clinton.

Tim Kaine has been challenged with forcing Pence to “defend the indefensible.” The Clinton campaign is counting on making this all about Donald Trump. The MSM has its Fact Checking teams ready for action. But there is a problem. Mike Pence is not Donald Trump. He is not nearly as likely to rise to the bait and get distracted.   If Pence delivers a strong, adult indictment of Hillary Clinton it could be devastating. He just may be the best person to deliver that message. He is an experienced attorney. He is also an effective Talk Show host. He was a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee and the Judiciary Committee in the House and he was Republican Conference Chairman, the third-highest ranking Republican in the House. This is a serious, polished politician with a ton of credibility.

The MSM is already trying to discredit Pence, but that may be easier said than done. The New York Times has already tried to claim Pence is a liar:

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/10/04/opinion/campaign-stops/will-mike-pence-tell-the-truth.html

He’s called Trump’s back-and-forth immigration positions “completely consistent.” He claimed that raising income taxes reduced federal revenue. He said that President Obama’s health law would “deprive roughly 120 million Americans of their current health care coverage.” And Pence lied about Hillary Clinton’s actions during the Benghazi attacks

One will note that none of these are actual lies; they are just opinions with which the New York Times disagrees. But one will also note that the same article admits that Pence is a skilled politician:

Mike Pence, the Republican governor of Indiana, is a likable, often sunny conservative, according to those who know him. He is the kind of politician who could make the real conservative arguments I wish we heard more often.

It is impossible to predict anything, but if Pence gets this right and people start to take a serious look at Benghazi, the Clinton Foundation and the E-mail scandal, it may just rock Hillary’s world. It will be very interesting to see how this race looks Past Pence.
