There are a lot of reasons for optimism today. I will point out just a few.

1. The liberal left’s attempt to con people into thinking we are heading toward a recession has failed. Consumer confidence is at a 19 year high. The Fed is likely to cut interest rates, which will make the economy even stronger. China has blinked big time on the trade war.
2. The Queen of England took an unprecedented step to back Boris Johnson in his efforts to implement Brexit. She literally ordered Parliament to drop the nonsense and concentrate on getting this done.
3. James Comey was humiliated by the DOJ IG report. In many ways, this is the worst possible outcome for Comey, at least with regard to these issues. The DOJ is not going to indict him, so he will get no trial. He has no chance of coming out of this as a martyr. Instead he has been exposed as an incompetent and unscrupulous Director of the FBI who allowed his personal animosity toward Donald Trump to cloud his judgement. All of the shame, none of the glory. Jail might have been a welcome alternative. He,of course, remains too stupid and arrogant to realize this.
4. CNN has been publicly humiliated, again. Seldom has a news story been so thoroughly and quickly discredited as that by Lawrence O’Donnell. The fact that Rachel Maddox was involved just sweetens the pot.
5. The CNN fake news story about the Amazon fires just added to the growing pile of evidence that the global warming (climate change) alarmists day is drawing to an end. Trump didn’t even bother to show up for the G7 meeting on this. NASA just issued a report showing U.S. temperatures haven’t risen since 2005.
6. There is a good chance that the newest hire by CNN, Andrew McCabe, is about to be indicted.
7. Joe Biden continues to lead in all the Democratic primary polls, because no matter how bad it gets, he still looks good in comparison to the others. He actually is exactly that bad. They are just demonstrably worse.
8. Tom Steyer spent $12 million and still couldn’t buy a place on the DNC debate stage.
9. There is a recall petition for Governor Gavin Newsom.
10. James Mattis, who clearly does not like Trump, gave him the strongest possible endorsement:

“You don’t endanger the country by attacking the elected commander in chief, and to further weaken him when we’re up against real threats –I mean, we could be at war on the Korean peninsula every time they start launching something.”

Mattis reminded the Atlantic, and the world, of the dangers of trashing a President of the United States for political purposes.

It is now official. Google is hopelessly biased and corrupt. If this document is authentic, this is absolutely mind numbing. CNN ran an article by Chris Cillizza, CNN Editor-at-large with the title: “Covfefe tells you all you need to know about Donald Trump.”

“To be clear: This is on its face, dumb. Trump seemed to be trying to type ‘coverage’ and misspelled it.  As he often does (No examples). Then he fell asleep and didn’t correct the mistake until he got up in the morning. We’ve all been there!”

When Trump responded to the criticism with the following tweet, Cillizza came unglued:

Finally, Cillizza said, proof that Trump is hopelessly dumb:

“While spending time trying, as Trump suggested, to figure out what ‘covfefe’ means is a waste, it is far more worthwhile to take a big step back and look at the situation that leads to the President of the United States, tweeting, poorly, at 12:06 a.m. about the bad press he gets.”

Cillizza drones on and on about how Trump is totally hopeless. He never even considered the possibility that Trump was right and he was the idiot.

Well now we know the rest of the story and it turns out that Google scrubbed all reference to “covfefe” from its search engines so that anyone searching for the word would come up empty. That worked brilliantly and the entire MSM swallowed this hook line and sinker. But, the last laugh is on Google and on those left wing liberals stupid enough to trust it. It turns out “covfefe” is a real word. It is an Arabic expression Trump probably picked up in Saudi Arabia. Gee, CNN, ever consider that possibility? It turns out that while Google can and did scrub the internet, it was unable to destroy all Arab dictionaries. It is really easy to find the truth about “covfefe”, unless you work for CNN or you rely on Google. Incredibly, even when Trump challenged them to look it up, they still missed it.

The truth about “covfefe” at last.  It is an Arabic expression that means “I will stand up.”

After deleting the real definition, Good replaced it with an Easter Egg, or in other words, nothing. (Actually it was a shrug emoji)  But the egg is now on the face of Google, because they apparently neglected to scrub their internal documents. Here is what a leaked Google document says:

“We currently translate the query “cov fe fe” from Arabic to English into “I will stand up.” This created some confusion this week as users tried to translate Donald Trump’s tweet from Wednesday night which had the word “covfefe” in it. Since the word has no real meaning, we want to do an Easter Egg that translates “cov fe fe” and “covfefe” into ”(\_?/)_/)” on Translate properties.

Wow! It does not get worse than this.

If you need any further evidence of how far the liberal left will go to hide the truth from you, look no further. If you need further evidence of the stupidity, arrogance and incompetence of people like Chris Cillizza, look no further.

Of course, you will almost certainly never see this reported in the MSM. They would much prefer to continue the myth of Donald Trump making a stupid spelling errors at 12:06 a.m. No one one did any real research regarding the meaning of “covfefe” other than perhaps searching for it on Google. As is now obvious, Google is hardly a trustworthy source, scarcely more credible than CNN.

Sometimes there are events that result in major changes in society. One such change took place about a week ago in New York City. Policer Officer Daniel Pantaleo was fired and stripped of his pension because of the use of a choke hold during the arrest of Eric Garner. It is important to note that Officer Pantaleo was never charged with a crime.

To the liberal left, this was not enough. Check out the following quote from Salon:

Every cop in that video was involved in Eric Garner’s killing; they have innocent blood on their hands.  The only difference is that Pantaleo just lost his job, which is not justice. The rest of them are still working, which is criminal.

The police have a very different view of this. They saw a man resisting arrest and a police officer trying to take him under control. By the way, Eric Garner was 6’3” and weighed 395 pounds. Any of you want to volunteer to get in a wrestling contest with him? The liberal left only saw an officer grab him from behind with what looked like a choke hold. But, if you have ever watched an MMA match you quickly learn the difference between what looks like a chokehold and what actually is a chokehold. If a fighter actually gets a chokehold on an opponent the fight is almost immediately over. In addition, the MMA fighter in the chokehold never says “I can’t breathe.” That is because if you actually can’t breathe, you can’t talk. Instead they tap their hand on the canvas.

But facts are irrelevant to the left. They never miss the opportunity to exploit tragedy. They never resist the chance to demonize the police. Here in California liberals passed AB392, which was gleefully signed by Governor Newsom. It will take effect January 1 and will modify the conditions under which a police officer can use deadly force from when it’s reasonable to when it necessary. That seems like a minor change but it is not.

For example police will be able to use lethal force on a fleeing felon only if that person is threatening violent harm to the officer or someone else. This is easy to understand. A police officer stops a vehicle. The officer pulls his fire arm and demands the driver to show his or her hands. If the person fails to do that and particularly if they reach for something, the police officer may shoot them. The reason for that is that there is an enormous risk that this person is reaching for a gun. Now, however, the person in the vehicle knows that the officer cannot shoot them. They must wait until there is an imminent threat. They must actually see and gun and they must be positive it is a gun. Then, when there is a threat, they must try to use non-lethal methods first.

Here is Sacramento this all arose out of the Stephen Clark case. A neighbor reported someone breaking into cars. When police arrived, they spotted Clark leaping fences and running through backyards. When they followed him into a backyard, with poor lighting, he apparently pointed his cell phone at them. They thought it was a gun so they shot him. This happened to be the backyard of his grandparents, but police had no way of knowing that.

The locals, led by Black Lives matters, went nuts. Even though the police were not charged, this is still viewed by Black Lives matters as murder. They succeeded in persuading the current Governor, Gavin Newsom, to sign legislation that even the pathetic Governor Brown would have vetoed.

Now, with the Pantaleo decision, even if you don’t shoot someone, using the wrong level of force will get you fired, if not arrested. The response to this decision by the New York Police commissioner was instant and dramatic. In less than one week arrests are already down by 27%. The number of criminal summonses issued fell nearly 29%.

Here are the instructions given to police by the police union:

“We are urging all New York City police officers to proceed with the utmost caution in this new reality, in which they may be deemed ‘reckless’ just for doing their job,” he said. “We will uphold our oath, but we cannot and will not do so by needlessly jeopardizing our careers or personal safety.”

In other words, police will start enforcing the law exactly the way the liberal left wants this done. The results will be beyond catastrophic. Crime rates are guaranteed to skyrocket, not just in New York City, but everywhere. Any smart police officer, familiar with this case, is going to hesitate before confronting a criminal under anything less than ideal situations. When in doubt, back off and call for back up. You have already seen how this works. The police eventually show up, with an armored vehicle, body armor, helmets and face shields. They surround the suspect, but do not take any immediate action. Instead, they negotiate. Only when the suspect is talked into surrendering is an arrest made.

Criminals are also well aware of this. They also understand that if they run, the police cannot shoot them. It won’t be long before police pursuits will also be banned. Criminals now know that police cannot even attempt to physically restrain them, unless they represent an imminent threat to the police. Tasering someone is out of the question. If the police try to restrain them, they will start yelling: “I can’t breathe.”  Previously they would have yelled “hands up don’t shoot,” but even that is no longer necessary. Criminals know that police can’t shoot even if they don’t have their hands up. There will be more and more serious injuries and deaths of police officers who hesitate at the wrong moment. Police will be increasingly hesitant to confront criminals. This will result in a catastrophic rise in crime. The most devastating impact will be on minorities living in Democratic controlled cities with gun control. People who can no longer count on the police to intervene also cannot have a gun available to defend themselves. Criminals will have no problem getting guns.

This will happen at the speed of light. By this time next year, the results will be horrific and impossible to ignore. Donald Trump will cruise to re-election, not just because of a booming economy, but because there will be a universal demand to restore law and order. CNN will never quite figure this out.

Many of us, who actually did some research and looked at the raw data, were extremely skeptical about the Global Warming Alarmists. There were several red flags. One of which was that none of their predictions ever proved to be accurate. In retrospect, I should have followed my instincts and wagered big bucks on the exact opposite of any prediction. For example, the Global Warming crowd was predicting a dramatic increase in the number and severity of hurricanes. In reality there were fewer hurricanes and they were actually weaker.

This didn’t take much research on my part. You can just google “hurricanes hitting the U.S.” and the pattern is very easy to see. We have periods with lots of hurricanes and we have periods with few hurricanes. This has absolutely nothing to do with the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere.

None of these problems were noticed by the liberal left and the MSM. Neither was any attention paid to the incredible amount of money generated by the global warming scam. Let me explain. You buy thousands of acres of wilderness, say in Brazil, and dedicate it to be open space. You buy this dirt cheap because no one lives there, and nothing can ever be built there. Actually, some people do live there, but they have little contact with the rest of society. You get an enormous tax break, meaning you get the land for less than nothing. Now, you arrange to sell carbon offsets on the land you have never seen. Brilliant. Every time someone in California buys gas, they pay a carbon offset tax. That tax goes to you, to compensate you for not using your worthless land.

Previously greedy men and women made money by exploiting workers and over charging for goods because of a corrupt monopoly. That still works, but this is better. It is like perpetual motion. The less you do, the more you earn, and the more praise you receive for helping save the planet. Life is good.

But there is a problem. Other people, the MSM calls climate skeptics who should be exterminated, are using real science and real data to research this. They quickly discover that the real data does not support global warming at all. Even the global warming alarmists get this, so they change from global warming to climate change. Climate change is perfect, because any change is considered proof. Remarkably, an extremely cold winter in New York is equal proof of climate change (we mean global warming) as a hot august night. What could possibly go wrong?

Well, actually two things. One of them is a billionaire who ran for President and admitted he was skeptical about all this crap. The other was that real scientists were getting royally pissed. They were tired of being arrogantly dismissed by people who couldn’t tell their rear disposal mechanism from a hole in the ground. They were particularly annoyed when people were using falsified information to discredit real science. So, they ignored the MSM and sued in a court of law. You know a place where one is required to provide actual facts. When confronted with the requirement to provide facts, the global warming alarmist crowd just took their ball and went home.

Unfortunately, for them, the courts noticed. Michael Mann, who developed the famous Hockey Stick global warming chart so adored by the liberal left, just lost bigly in court. He not only lost; he has to pay big bucks for his opponent’s legal fees. There are few things more painful in life than to have to pay expense incurred by someone to humiliate you.

The MSM will still fail to notice. They will still pretend the Amazon is burning even after NASA laughs this story off the front page. The G7 will still meet to discuss climate change, but one chair will be empty. That is the chair reserved for Donald Trump, who just quietly said he has better things to do.

The end is very near for these clowns. Unfortunately, one reason for that is that it is about to get colder. Much colder. The Sun actually is the primary factor in global temperature and the Sun is headed toward a period of lower activity and less energy output. It is going to get colder. Every scientist, including the global warming alarmist crowd recognizes that this is happening. The global warming alarmist crowd is just hoping and praying to the God they ignore that increasing C02 levels will offset enough of this so people won’t notice. It won’t work. Don’t sell your coat.

And, by the way, it won’t be long now before global cooling is caused by rising C02 levels.

You cannot put too high a price on stupidity. French President Macron was determined to stop Trump from dominating the G7 summit. So, he decided to change the agenda, before Trump even arrived and without consulting other world leaders. Macron declared the fires in the Amazon rain forest to be an international crisis. Oops. It appears that Macron was watching CNN and naively assumed those were real videos.  Actually, they were recycled videos from years ago, probably copies obtained from Leonardo DiCaprio. Close enough, right?

Incredibly, if Macron had just kept up with the Washington Post, the New York Times and NASA he could have avoided a painful self-inflicted wound. You see, the Amazon rain forest is not actually on fire. It turns out that the number of fires this year are BELOW average. In addition, it isn’t actually the Amazon rain forest burning, it is previously deforested land turned over to agriculture. And, this wasn’t actually caused by climate change, the fires were started deliberately by farmers to clear their land in preparation for the next growing season. And, by the way, Brazil has actually grown 860,000 acres of new forest over the past few years. In other words, the CNN report is the polar opposite of the truth.

Few people supported Macron. Even Angela Merkel shrugged him off, because Germany does a lot of business in Brazil. The President of Brazil was outraged, partly because France was trying to tell him how to run Brazil and partly because this was based on patently false information.

Fast forward to Trump arriving in France and having lunch with Macron. Trump described it as the best meeting he has ever had with Macron. I can easily imagine this. Trump reaches over, pats Macron on the arm and says: “It’s ok, a lot of people were misled by CNN.” Then Trump probably laughed and said now you understand why I call it fake news.

This G7 conference will be different. There is unlikely to be any joint statement regarding some area of consensus. The era of Globalism is officially over. Now is the area of working together with something called common sense. Trump told American companies they don’t need China. He is right. There are many other places, including Vietnam, ready, willing and able to replace China. Trump realizes something important. China needs the U.S. The U.S. does not need China. He also realizes that Europe needs the U.S. The U.S. does not need Europe. The U.S. economy is doing fine. The rest of the world, not so much. If the U.S. economy does go into the recession hoped for by liberals and Democrats, it will have a devastating effect on the rest of the world.

This has been true for a long time. It has just been ignored. Trump’s message is actually quite clear. You can be our friend, you can be neutral, or you can be our enemy. Those who choose friendship will prosper. Those who choose to be our enemy risk destruction. And, oh, by the way. The threat from climate change is not actually real, but the threat from us is very real indeed.

FOX 40 said 4,000 people attended. That seems a little “enthusiastic.” They noted that people attended despite the near triple-digit temperatures in Sacramento. What they left out is that “near triple-digits” in Sacramento in August is celebrated as a cooler than normal day.

While we don’t really know how many people showed up to feel the Berne, we do know who was there Wednesday. Cesar Chavez Park has been taken over by the homeless for a long time. If you want to see how Bernie Sanders policies work in real life, you should have visited Cesar Chavez Park Wednesday. I would recommend visiting in the early morning, before 10 o’clock, since most of them will still be asleep and it will be safer for you.

The mayor of Sacramento developed a brilliant plan for dealing with the homeless. Invite Bernie Sanders to come and speak. Then order city park rangers to move in around 9:00 a.m. and clear the homeless out and put up fences. By the time Bernie arrived, the homeless were safely out of sight, problem solved.  This was so obvious that even the Sac Bee noticed:

My guess is that they are back today and nothing will change until another Democratic politician decides to brave the Sacramento heat.

One thing is certain; none of the liberal programs designed to deal with the homeless have worked. The places run by Democratic liberals are the places with the biggest problems. Have you visited San Francisco lately? I used to work in San Francisco and considered it to be one of the most beautiful places on earth. A place so blessed that even liberals could not destroy it. Now, I am not so sure. Liberal policies can turn a city too marvelous to believe into a nightmare impossible to ignore.

I am sorry I missed my chance. I should have rushed down to Cesar Chavez plaza around 11:00 on Wednesday. With any luck that would be after the homeless had been pushed out and the debris removed, but before the Bernie barricades were put up. That way, I could have reported first hand on how liberals really can be effective in dealing with the homeless problem.

“In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.” This was the favorite phrase of an Insurance Company President I used to deal with on a regular basis. His point was that if everyone else was oblivious to the obvious, the person who could see reality would win.

This is a perfect analogy of the Democratic Party and the search for a 2020 candidate to run against Donald Trump. The problems with Joe Biden are beyond obvious. There is a reason he never got up to 5% in his previous attempts at the oval office. Biden is a joke of a candidate. He would literally be laughed off the stage if there was anyone else on that stage. But, there isn’t anyone else in sight. The rest of the candidates are so plumb awful that even “sleepy Joe” looks good in comparison.

Perhaps it is just me, but every time I look at the candidates running for the DNC nomination I have the same reaction: “Are you kidding me?” If you were writing a script for a comedy with the most ridiculous possible group of people running for President of the United States it would be hard to come up with anything more bizarre that those currently running. Now combine this with the establishment of the Democratic Party totally intimidated by a former bartender from New York who consistently takes the most ridiculous side of any disagreement. They have even managed to condone anti-Semitic remarks by Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib. This is so bad that some of the establishment Democrats and their supporters in the main stream media have noticed.

Meanwhile, back on the farm, CNN ran an extensive report on the Concord Management case Tuesday. They just left out a couple of things. Like the fact that “the millions of files of evidence” was actually Russian social media posts that were never even translated. Three of the companies indicted by Mueller did not exist at the time of the indictment, and some of the people mentioned may not be real people. Concord Management and Consulting, LLC. allegedly spent a whopping $2,930 on campaign ads plus another $1,800 in payroll during the 2016 election.  And that, my friends, is why Hillary Clinton is not President of the United States!

That begs the question: Is CNN really stupid enough to believe that our election was heavily influenced by a $3,000 ad buy, Is the Mueller team stupid enough to believe this, or do they just hope and pray that you are stupid enough to believe this?

In 1963, the CBS soap opera, “As The World Turns” was extremely popular. The logo for this show was a world globe revolving. What an ironic image under the circumstances. The show was being broadcast live, when news broke about the Assassination of JFK. This happened so quickly that the actors kept on performing unaware that no one was watching any more. At first there was just a screen showing “CBS NEWS BULLETIN”. Walter Cronkite was giving audio reports, but there was no video. It turns out it took about 20 minutes for the CBS television cameras to warm up.

If you are interested in seeing first-hand how the Kennedy assassination played out in real time, there are several YouTube videos available. Having lived through this when I was a junior in high school, it was fascinating to watch some of this again. It is still hard to imagine how much changed in just a few hours.

Kennedy has been shot at about 1:35 p.m. EST and in spite of the obvious chaos, by 6:00 p.m. EST, Air Force One had arrived back at Andrews Air Force bases with President Kennedy’s body. Our new President, Lyndon Johnson, gave a very brief public statement. It is stunning to realize how much our world had changed in about 4 and ½ hours.

We may now have another event of this magnitude. That is the “convenient” death of Jeffrey Epstein. In this case it is not so much about Jeffrey Epstein but rather the convenience of his death for some of the most powerful people on this planet. Virtually no one is buying the “routine suicide” theory.

Attorney General William Barr is investigating, so is the IG. In addition both Republicans and Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee are demanding to know if anyone outside of the Justice Department knew Epstein was taken off suicide watch. For the first time in a very long time, the MSM is all over this. There is a lot of finger pointing on both sides of the aisle, but so far there are a lot more high profile Democrats and liberal celebrities on the naughty list than there are Republicans. It is going to be hard to link Epstein to Trump when it is documented that Trump banned Epstein from Mar-A-Lago years ago.

This reminds me of something Ted Koppel said while he was reporting on the decision by Bill Clinton to bomb Iraq, literally during his impeachment trial. Koppel said that the timing of this decision was convenient, but he would not question President Clinton’s motivation because “that would be unthinkable.”

Bill Clinton did a lot of things that, in retrospect, were unthinkable. So did Hillary Clinton when she jeopardized national security to protect her own privacy. In effect, when James Comey refused to recommend prosecution, it was because he knew that if she did this deliberately: “that would be unthinkable.”

Jeffrey Epstein’s convenient death just may have finally forced a lot of people to realize that “the unthinkable, with regard to the Clinton’s, is no longer ‘unthinkable’ at all.” While the most immediate impact will be to investigate the death of Jeffrey Epstein, ultimately this may change a lot more than that. The truth about the Clintons and to some extent Obama has been obvious, for a long time, to anyone who dared consider the unthinkable. For a long time the MSM has been willing to think the worst of Donald Trump, without regard to actual facts, but unwilling to consider the remote possibility of corruption by the anointed class. Epstein may have just changed that.

One other comment regarding the Kennedy Assassination. Shortly after the shooting, there were interviews of people in New York who questioned whether this was done by right wing conservatives. As soon as the press learned about Lee Harvey Oswald, they immediately took steps to set the record straight and reported that Oswald was actually a far left liberal and had no possible connection to right wing conservatives. I doubt that the MSM of today would have bothered to correct the record.

It is increasingly clear that liberals and conservatives are living in parallel universes. I recently had someone tell me that I must be watching different videos of Trump speaking and reading a different twitter account. It soon became obvious to me that this was true. That is because this person went on to describe things said by Trump that he did not say. It became obvious that a lot of people are evaluating Trump based on reporting by people who despise him. Words are taken out of context and distorted. These people “explain” what Trump really means. America First does not actually mean American First, it is a dog whistle for white supremacy. When Trump talks about nationalism, he is not actually talking about nationalism, he is talking about white nationalism. It has become increasingly obvious that few of these people actually read a Trump tweet and they certainly don’t listen to him speak.

One would think this would be obvious, but it isn’t to the Trump haters. Trump rallies draw thousands of people. In many cases there are over-flow crowds. If you look at pictures of the crowd, they pretty much look like America. Yet the liberal left would have us believe that the only people who listen to Trump are racists and bigots. They are what Hillary calls the basket of deplorables. People Obama described as clinging to their guns and their religion. Others describe the Trump crowds as similar to Hitler youth rallies. Where people are too spell bound to notice the dangerous rhetoric. They are either too biased or too stupid to recognize the racism and bigotry spouted by Trump on a daily basis. These people desperately need the help of someone like Don Lemon or Anderson Cooper to provide desperately needed translation services.

This happens on both sides of the aisle. I have seen many times where a liberal says something that is grossly distorted by a conservative critic. When I read the actual statement, it is often very different than what is reported.  It is frequently taken out of context. Politics is like that. We should all learn to read what is actually written and listen to what is actually said.

Recently Fox News went to college campuses and read statements regarding illegal immigration. The students immediately said these statements were racist and bigoted. They were then shocked to learn that the quotes were from Barack Obama, not Donald Trump. This, unfortunately, is a sad reality.

To be honest, Trump does bring some of this on himself. He does say rude and insulting things about people that are very unfair. That is particularly true when he ridicules people for the way they look, or he calls them Low IQ. Some of the outrage is justified. But, in most cases, Trump is responding to people who have said rude and insulting things about him. There is plenty of rude and insulting behavior to go around.

But now, this has reached the point of real danger. Far too many people really believe Trump is an avowed racist who supports white supremacy. They also believe that anyone who supports him is equally guilty. This is generating outrage. But look around you and see who is acting on this rage. Although the MSM dreams of the angry white male wearing a MAGA hat shooting up people because he has been inspired by Donald Trump, that person remains elusive. Instead there are stories of people wearing MAGA hats being beat up by the oh so tolerant liberals. It is not liberals who are being harassed and chased out of restaurants, it is people like Sarah Sanders and Ted Cruz.

Once again, we hear pleas, usually from the liberal left, to tone down the hate speech. This ignores a simple fact of life. There is good and there is evil. There are people who are warm and friendly. People you can and should trust as a friend. There are also people who are jerks who think only of themselves. Sometimes, treating everyone the same is the most unfair thing of all. If we give equal weight to those who are undeserving, then it just may be at the expense of others who actually are worthy. For example, there are two men. One is a decorated war hero, the other is a guy who not only dodged the draft, he protested against the war. Should we really treat them the same. What would be fair about that?

I have a tee shirt, that my wife allows me to wear on rare occasions. It says: “I am one of those men you despised while I was risking my life defending our country. I have forgiven you, but I have not forgotten.”

It is time all of us remember something important. While we can and should forgive people and we should be tolerant, even of those who are intolerant of us, we should never forget that sometimes treating everyone the same is the most unfair possible response to a situation. If there is a fair race, the most unfair possible result would be to ignore the real winner and give first prize to someone else. Fairness is not necessarily treating everyone the same, it is often rewarding those who are most worthy. Don’t give the employee of the year award to someone who frequently comes in late and never puts in a full day of work. There would be nothing fair about that at all. Instead give the reward to the person who earned it and if the other guy is offended, so what?

So, while I am tolerant of those who believe things that are not only false, they are insane, it does not mean that I should ever be stupid enough to let them make decisions for me or anyone else. That, in my personal opinion, would be the most unfair thing of all. I sometimes cringe at the rudeness of Donald Trump, but I should never confuse this with the bitter hatred spewed out on a daily basis by his opponents.

In their haste to blame Trump for the mass murders that occurred over the weekend, the MSM is stepping in it big time. It turns out that the shooter in El Paso was radicalized during the presidency of Barack Hussein Obama, not Donald Trump. He was a registered Democrat on Mylife, until some liberal changed it after the shooting. This is mostly stupid. The more anyone looks at this guy the less evidence anything Trump did to inspire this mass murder. CNN calling Trump a racist who supports white supremacists, on the other hand, certainly didn’t help. If anything, it was those advocating open borders that pushed him over the edge.

What the MSM does not realize is that people are really angry and upset about this and they are tired of those who routinely politicize every tragedy. Trump is going to speak in El Paso tomorrow and he will look very presidential. Those who respond to this with cheap political shots may be stunned by the response.

The guy in Dayton was a Democrat who supported Elizabeth Warren and Antifa. Not exactly the guy kind of guy likely to be wearing a MAGA hat. Anyone see Elizabeth Warren getting flak for inspiring violence? Me neither. This is a classic example of desperately pointing your finger at someone else and failing to realize you are pointing four back at yourself. I predict a major backlash on this. People are becoming increasingly angry at those who can never resist exploiting tragedy. In these cases the rush to judgement is beyond obvious.

There will be the predictable rush to ban assault rifles. Trump may even jump on that bandwagon but it will solve nothing. The reality is that there are at least 4.2 million AR15/AK47 type rifles in the U.S. Most of the recent sales went to people who bought them to defend themselves against maniacs like the ones who shot up El Paso and Dayton. Even if they are banned tomorrow, what are they going to do about the 4.2 million already out there? Are you going to do a gun buy back? They tried that in New Zealand and it was ignored. If they do ban them, the only people turning them in will be law abiding citizens who aren’t a problem. The other people, you know the ones we are worried about, will be very unlikely to comply.

What is the plan here? Send in ATF and/or local law enforcement to locate these guns and confiscate them. Good luck with that. We could easily have a lot of Ruby Ridge type scenarios all over the country. Remember the part about there being more than 4.2 million of these guns? Suppose only ½ of 1% are a problem. That still would mean about 200,000 people angry people armed with rifles. At least some of those people really believe those it when they say they will give back their gun when it is pried from their cold dead fingers. Suppose this is a really low percentage. Say, .01%.(one tenth of 1 percent). That still would be about 500 people. Anyone want to volunteer for this task force? It wouldn’t be long before no sane law enforcement person would try and confiscate an AR15 without a Swat team and an armored vehicle as back up.

Think about it, we can’t even find a way to locate and deport unarmed people here illegally.

Even if they do manage to find and confiscate all these guns, it will do little or nothing to stop criminals from getting their hands on guns. That is, if they want them. Most criminals are smarter than the folks at CNN and they prefer hand guns. But if they do want an AR 15 type rifle, the supply is pretty much unlimited.

The point is that while this has zero chance of working, it does have a 100% change of making potentially dangerous people extremely angry. El Paso and Dayton are important reminders of what these people can and will do when provoked. If you take away their AR15s, they will just find something else. Since the AR15 isn’t actually an assault rifle and it isn’t really a good close quarter’s weapon, they will probably choose something more lethal. Nice!

What could make this worse? Easy. An NRA totally mismanaged and shredding credibility. The only question is who hates the NRA management more, left wing liberals or NRA members.

We also have all these pro-gun control liberals with a fatal combination of arrogance, self-righteousness and incompetence. Most of them do not know the difference between an AR15 and an assault rifle. They don’t own a gun and they don’t understand why anyone would want one. Incredibly, they are the one who often hire armed personal security. Most of them are wealthy liberals who live in luxurious isolation. They would never shop at Walmart; they would send one of their servants to do that for them. They live in a bubble and have no concept of life in the real world. That, of course, does not stop them from preaching to the rest of us, oblivious to their own ignorance. Even more oblivious to the irreparable harm they are doing.
