When a President gets it right, they deserve the credit.\u00a0\u00a0 It sure looks like Barack Obama got this one right.\u00a0 He refused to let them bomb this compound, he wanted proof that they really got Usama Bin Ladin.\u00a0\u00a0 He deserves credit for authorizing this mission, since if it failed it would have been very bad for him personally.<\/p>\n
Obviously the real credit goes to the men and women who found Bin Laden and who carred out the actual mission.\u00a0<\/p>\n
This is a wonderful\u00a0day and we should all celebrate a great victory.<\/p>\n
More details will come out and that could change things.\u00a0 But regardless, Barack Obama did well and he deserves his share of the credit.<\/p>\n
Some people are worried that this will guarantee the re-election of Barack Obama.\u00a0 It won’t.\u00a0 The highest approval rating for a U.S. President, ever, was for George H.W. Bush after the first Iraq war.\u00a0 He even got a standing ovation from Democrats in congress when he spoke to congress following that war.\u00a0 We all know that within a remarkably short time he was defeated by Bill Clinton in the 1992 election.\u00a0 If you listened to the “pundits” following the first Gulf War, no one thought it was possible for any Democrat to defeat George H. W. Bush.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Obama would have knocked it out of the park if he has been a little more gracious.\u00a0 He was very quick to claim the credit.\u00a0 That is a smart move for a politician running for office, but not necessarily Presidential.\u00a0\u00a0 We will see how that plays out.\u00a0 \u00a0But now is not the time to nit pick.\u00a0 He deserves credit for a job well done.<\/p>\n
