I wanted to watch the State of the Union Address last night. I was hopeful that Donald Trump would do ok. But to be honest, there was concern. The negative press against this President is unprecedented. He has even been called dangerous, a threat to democracy, a Nazi. Then there was the problem that Trump tends to drone on and on and become boring and repetitive. We have already seen this before. If Trump could just shut up and talk less about himself.<\/strong><\/p>\n

But a miracle happened last night. Donald Trump delivered what may have been the most effective State of the Union Address in the history of the United States. He was absolutely brilliant. He was focused and he held the national audience in the palm of his hand throughout the entire evening. He embarrassed Democrats when he said: “So tonight, I’m inviting every legislator to join with my administration in reaffirming a fundamental principle. If you agree with this statement, then stand up and show your support: The first duty of the American government is to protect American citizens, not illegal aliens.”<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Democrats, too absorbed with hatred for Donald Trump and lock step thinking fell into the trap. They sat frozen to their seats. It was obvious, if Trump was for it, they were against it, even when he was right. They wanted to put on a show by refusing to stand and applaud anything. Big, extremely humiliating mistake.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Then, Trump introduced a series of heroes and by the end of the evening, Democrats were forced to stand to their feet and applaud anyway. Ultimately Democrats acted like silly, immature school children while Trump looked and acted like a President of the United States. It was a masterpiece.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

While Democrats went from throwing up to standing in applause, it was followed by the worst possible rebuttal speech, by the liberal left Governor of Virginia focused on destroying the oldest commonwealth in the United States. The worst possible choice for the rebuttal speech gave a typical Democrat talking points presentation oblivious to what Trump had just said in the State of the Union Speech. The contrast was stunning.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I honestly believe this will go down as one of the greatest State of the Union speeches in the history of the country, while her partisan insulting rebuttal will be ignored, assuming anyone even bothered to tune in.<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you were concerned about the mid-term elections, and you are a Republican, those fears disappeared in front of our own eyes. If you are a Democrat, hoping that the walls would finally close in on Donald Trump, you just got a case study on why it is so easy to underestimate this man.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I do not know how many people watched this speech.<\/strong> It is easy to predict that the liberal left and the MSM will try to spin this away. But to those who watched this, it is impossible to ignore. Donald Trump didn\u2019t just hit it out of the park; he hit it across the street and over the parking lot next door.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

This morning, I read the headlines. Here they are. For Democrats, this is a day of mourning:<\/strong><\/p>\n

CNN “Trump parades wins and slams ‘crazy’ Democrats in State of the Union<\/em>.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

NBC “State of the Union address highlights: Trump clashes with Democrats in speech declaring a ‘golden age’ of America<\/em>.”\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

I doubt that many people not already filled with TDS will bother to read this. Most notably there is little mention of the rebuttal given by Abigail Spanberger, the Virginia Governor. Once again Democrats focused on accusing Trump of telling lies and exciting violence. Earth to Democrats, that ship has sailed.<\/strong><\/p>\n
