I have a baseball from the 1994 World Series.\u00a0 I like to bring it out and challenge anyone to name one of the two teams that played in that World Series.\u00a0 I get a lot of guesses, all wrong.\u00a0 Then I laugh, because although they made a 1994 World Series commemorative baseball, they didn\u2019t actually have a World Series in 1994 due to the strike.<\/p>\n

The reality is that baseball never really recovered. In 2016, average attendance was 29,339, less than what it was in 1993 and far less than it would be if it hadn\u2019t been for that strike.\u00a0 Baseball simply is no longer America\u2019s game.\u00a0 Sorry, but this is really obvious. Odds are your kids and grandkids know a lot more about soccer than they do baseball. That is why so many major league players are from other countries.\u00a0 The kids here have moved on.<\/p>\n

The NFL was already in trouble. The move of the Rams and the Chargers to Los Angeles is a huge failure.\u00a0 Los Angeles has a lot of people, they just don\u2019t bother going to football games. Then we learned about all the concussions and the horrible physical effects on retired players.\u00a0 Many parents are asking if they really want their kids to play football.\u00a0 Who can blame them? Colin Kaepernick starting sitting down for the National Anthem and the liberal left equated this with some great act of courage.\u00a0 More and more NFL players decided this was a great idea.\u00a0 No one dared tell the truth about this, until Donald Trump gave a speech this week:<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s a total disrespect of our heritage. That\u2019s a total disrespect of everything that we stand for\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>\u201cWouldn\u2019t you love to see one of these NFL owners, when someone disrespects our flag to say, `Get that son of a bitch off the field right now! Out. He\u2019s fired! He\u2019s fired!\u2019\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>Right on, Mr. President!\u00a0 It about time someone pointed this out!<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>Roger Goodell gave an idiotic response, warmly and stupidly embraced by the mainstream media:<\/p>\n

\u201cDivisive comments like these demonstrate an unfortunate lack of respect for the NFL, our great game and all of our players, and a failure to understand the overwhelming force for good our clubs and players represent in our communities.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>Hey Roger, where were you when players were showing a lack of respect for our country?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I was recently at a San Francisco 49ers game.\u00a0 They brought out the biggest American flag I have ever seen.\u00a0 It covered the entire field.\u00a0 Almost everyone stood at attention and honored our country.\u00a0 Do you think they will listen to someone like Keith Olbermann and sit down during the National Anthem so NFL players don\u2019t get hurt feelings?<\/p>\n

Please!\u00a0 Is Keith Olbermann still alive?\u00a0 Apparently he is now hosting a YouTube show for GQ.\u00a0 I don\u2019t know, I don\u2019t care and neither does anyone else.\u00a0 If people do decide to still attend an NFL game this weekend, I will wager a large bet that most people will stand and cheer the National Anthem louder than ever before.\u00a0 I also predict that a lot of them will avoid insulting the over-paid arrogant jerks congratulating themselves on the field by staying home and turning off the TV.<\/p>\n

In 1994, Baseball flipped the bird to the American people.\u00a0 In 1995, the networks required by contract to broadcast major league baseball, lost $595 million.\u00a0 Want to guess how much advertising revenue will be lost this time?\u00a0 It sure looks like 1994 all over again; just substitute the NFL for MLB.\u00a0 Game on, or perhaps not.<\/p>\n
