Donald Trump stepped in it big time with this \u201cMuslim ban<\/strong>,\u201d right?\u00a0 I mean there were protests all over the place and all these heartbreaking stories about families ripped apart.\u00a0 This was so obviously unconstitutional that a Washington Judge arrogantly issued a temporary restraining order.\u00a0 Then, to add insult to injury the 9th<\/sup> Circuit Court doubled down on the humiliation by upholding this order.<\/p>\n

But In their haste to play politics, liberals overlooked a couple things.\u00a0 What Trump did is clearly legal and even liberal law professors admit this. In addition, Trump is right about the threat of terrorism from these seven countries.<\/p>\n

When Isikoff asked Assad if any of the refugees are terrorists Assad quickly said \u201cdefinitely<\/em><\/strong>.\u201d\u00a0 He said you can find it on the Net. \u201cThose terrorists in Syria, holding the machine gun or killing people, they [appear as] peaceful refugees in Europe or in the west.\u201d <\/em><\/strong>This had the ugly odor of truth.<\/p>\n

Assad pointed out, correctly, that even a few terrorist can create huge problems.\u00a0 The 9-11 attack was carried out by only 20 people.<\/p>\n

The liberal left was celebrating so loudly they didn\u2019t notice that the 9th<\/sup> Circuit Court had done something really stupid.\u00a0 Liberal Democrats are, once again, on the record putting politics ahead of national security.\u00a0 If there is a terrorist attack and it comes from someone remotely connected with one of those seven countries, who would you rather be?\u00a0 The President who tried to stop it or the arrogant lefties who threw a hissy fit putting us all at risk?<\/p>\n

The events yesterday at the Oroville Dam remind us the risk from public officials more than willing to ignore obvious risk. The following article in the Mercury News shows that 12 years ago three groups filed a motion with the Federal Government on October 17, 2005 warning of exactly this risk.\u00a0 The State Department of Water Resources and the water agencies that would have been required to pay for fixing the emergency spillway argued that there was no risk. Sadly, FERC agreed with them.\u00a0 Obviously, they were wrong.<\/p>\n

We are fortunate that the original report that the emergency spillway could fail in about an hour were inaccurate.\u00a0 If that had happened, the loss of life and property damage would have been staggering.\u00a0 The good news is that the worst case didn\u2019t happen.\u00a0 The bad news is that there are a series of storms approaching California and this is far from over.<\/p>\n

This is a classic example of what happens when government officials put politics ahead of protecting the public.\u00a0 Those upgrades to the Oroville Dam Emergency Spillway would have been very expensive in 2005.\u00a0 They will cost a lot more now.\u00a0 I hope the people in La La Land enjoyed all that cheap water.<\/p>\n

This is remarkably similar to the decision made by Judge Robart and the 9th<\/sup> Circuit Court.\u00a0 It is why Donald Trump won by losing. Donald Trump is President of the United States and if liberals keep resisting him, to the point that he can no longer take the action necessary to protect us the cost may be far more than the potential failure of the Oroville Dam.\u00a0 This should be a wake-up call to liberals everywhere, but there seems little chance of that happening.<\/p>\n
