John Kerry burst on the political scene by lying under oath, before congress, falsely accusing his fellow Vietnam Veterans of routinely committing war crimes.\u00a0\u00a0 This was after he committed treason by trying to negotiate a personal peace treaty with representatives of the Viet Cong.\u00a0 He was just getting started. For decades he has brilliantly combined all the worst possible elements in one shallow, arrogant, incompetent soulless politician.<\/p>\n
Seldom, in the history of this country, has one man accumulated so much wealth and power to so little effect. I would pause, in fairness, to list his accomplishments, if any were to be found.<\/p>\n
The liberal left praises John Kerry for the Iran Contra investigation. They leave out something really important. Senators John Kerry and Tom Harkin visited Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega in 1985.\u00a0 Neither noticed or cared that the Sandinistas were communists, with close ties to Cuba.\u00a0 They were not concerned that Russia was supplying the Sandinistas with no cost armaments including the MI-24 attack helicopters (Hinds) and MI-17 transport helicopters. \u00a0They didn\u2019t care that the Contras were seeking free elections and Democracy.\u00a0 Democrats were determined to prevent the United States from providing any assistance to the Contras.\u00a0 The result was the Boland Amendment designed to guarantee that the Contras went down to defeat with no help from the U.S.\u00a0 How dare this country stand up against communism!<\/p>\n
”No funds available to the Central Intelligence Agency, the Department of Defense or any other agency or entity of the United States involved in intelligence activities may be obligated or expended for the purpose or which would have the effect of supporting, directly or indirectly, military or paramilitary operations in Nicaragua by any nation, group, organization, movement or individual.” <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n In the 1986 fiscal year, Congress approved $27 million in aid for the contras but stipulated that none of it could be spent on weapons. The Administration was explicitly permitted to solicit contra aid from other nations, but only if that aid was not used to buy weapons. In November of that year, Congress also said the C.I.A. could share intelligence with the contras. <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n President Ronald Reagan, who believed our national security was at stake, told National Security Advisor Robert McFarlane:\u00a0 “I want you to do whatever you have to do to help these people keep body and soul together.”<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n The result was the Iran Contra fiasco where the CIA, in a desperate attempt to help the Contras with zero assistance from congress, turned to highly unethical and irresponsible choices.\u00a0 Democrats never considered the possibility that the most unethical thing Ronald Reagan could have done was to abandon the Contras and let the Sandinistas win.<\/p>\n Democrats, led by John Kerry, rejoiced at the opportunity to investigate those who were fighting the war against communism. They never considered the reality that the only reason the Iran Contra scandal was necessary was because Democrats were willing to sacrifice national security on the altar of partisan politics. In the end, to the shock and horror of the liberal left, the Contras won in spite of the best efforts of liberal Democrats like John Kerry and the Sandinistas were defeated in free elections.<\/p>\n Today, John Kerry gave what is probably the dumbest and most irresponsible speech ever by a Secretary of State.\u00a0 He not only stabbed the nation of Israel in the back, he arrogantly explained exactly why liberal Democrats can never be trusted with national security.\u00a0 The Palestinian Liberation Organization has zero interest in peace, it won\u2019t even acknowledge Israel\u2019s right to exist. If you ask the PLO what they want the answer is always the same; they want Israel to be annihilated.\u00a0 There is none so blind as he who will not see.<\/p>\n The good news here is that the John Kerry era will be over January 20, 2016.
