I decided to watch CNN\u2019s coverage of the Republican Convention for two reasons.\u00a0 One is that the SF Giants had the day off and there was little else on.\u00a0 The other was that I sometimes watch the enemy because they provide better insight into how the liberal left actually views things.<\/p>\n

Three things stood out.\u00a0 CNN played the speech by the mother of Sean Smith in its entirety.\u00a0 It was devastating.\u00a0 While there will be the typical liberal complaints that this was hate speech and that it exploited tragedy, it was riveting.\u00a0 Regardless of whether or not you think it was appropriate to have her speak, the honesty was overpowering.\u00a0 It was impossible to listen to that speech and not realize that Hillary Clinton is not just a liar, she is a cold-hearted ass.\u00a0 When this woman said the State Department refused to talk to her because she was not \u201cnext of kin\u201d <\/strong><\/strong>it sent a shudder through the audience.<\/p>\n

Melanie Trump\u2019s speech was not a complete disaster, which is the most anyone should have expected.\u00a0 Yes, the speech writer plagiarized Michelle Obama.\u00a0 But, a little research will show that those same lines were plagiarized by someone the speech writer for Michelle Obama.<\/p>\n

Obama himself plagiarized lines from Cory Booker.\u00a0 The main stream media will ignore that sad reality, but it doesn\u2019t matter.\u00a0 Melania Trump is still Melania Trump and nothing changed.<\/p>\n

The speeches ranged from mediocre to terrible.\u00a0 Perhaps the worst speech was the one given by Michael Flynn more than justifying Donald Trump\u2019s decision to dump him as a VP Candidate.\u00a0 Joni Ernst was also bad with the added distraction that people were getting up and leaving in droves.\u00a0 But then she delivered a moment that was pure magic.\u00a0 It just may have been the best moment of the night.\u00a0 CNN stupidly interviewed Joni Ernst.\u00a0 They totally underestimated her.\u00a0 When she started talking about the Hillary Clinton e-mail scandal she eviscerated Hillary on national television.\u00a0 Instead of the stiff woman with the squeaky voice reading poorly from a teleprompter, they were confronted with a brilliant professional woman who commanded an Army Transportation unit during the Iraq War.\u00a0 She was riveting.<\/p>\n

She said she was not sure whether Hillary Clinton deserved to be in jail, but that this scandal should disqualify her from being President of the United States.\u00a0 Then, as a former Armey Commander she talked about her own training with regard to classified information and she delivered what should be a fatal blow to Hillary Clinton.\u00a0 She said she was appalled that Hillary lacked the intelligence to recognize classified information and the need to protect it.\u00a0 She was calm, professional and impossible to ignore.<\/p>\n

No one at CNN challenged her on that point, they were shocked into silence.\u00a0 The looks on their faces were those of people who had just been delivered a harsh dose of the cold hard truth.<\/p>\n

I doubt that many people will see that interview and that is the real shame.\u00a0 Shortly after this the Melania plagiarism scandal broke and CNN quickly moved on to covering that.\u00a0 They pointed out, correctly, that this was a really stupid mistake, not by Melania Trump but rather by the Trump campaign.\u00a0 They are right about that. Once again carelessness by Trump provided an unnecessary distraction just when Hillary was being decimated on national television.<\/p>\n

We seem to be frozen in time.\u00a0 The same thing happens over and over again.\u00a0 Hillary Clinton is reeling from body blow after body blow.\u00a0 She is only kept upright because she has the good fortune to be in the ring with someone too self-absorbed and too clumsy to just let her fall flat on her face.\u00a0 The only thing that can rescue Hillary Clinton from herself is the person the Republicans are about to choose to be their candidate in the general election.\u00a0 Frozen.<\/p>\n
