It is officially over. \u00a0Ted Cruz has bowed out of the race for President.\u00a0 That means Donald Trump is the Republican nominee.\u00a0 I am sure Trump supporters are celebrating.\u00a0 Ted Cruz was not the only loser in this race.\u00a0 I am not distressed that Ted Cruz is not going to be the nominee.\u00a0 That really didn\u2019t matter to me. I am actually angry with Ted Cruz for failing to win this election.\u00a0 There was far too much at stake.\u00a0 The problem is that Donald Trump is an unmitigated disaster.\u00a0 The only thing more frightening then Donald Trump losing to Hillary Clinton is Donald Trump getting elected President of the United States.\u00a0 Donald Trump has defeated Ted Cruz.\u00a0 That does not make Donald Trump any more acceptable as a candidate for President.<\/p>\n
Ted Cruz went on a rant yesterday.\u00a0 It was a huge mistake by a desperate candidate, definitely a world class case of sour grapes.\u00a0 It was partially fueled by Donald Trump\u2019s insane accusation that Rafael Cruz was an associate of Lee Harvey Oswald. \u00a0Unfortunately, it also sounds an awful lot like the truth:<\/p>\n
He doesn’t know the difference\u00a0between truth and lies.\u00a0He lies practically every word\u00a0that comes out of his mouth.\u00a0And he had a pattern that I\u00a0think is straight out of a\u00a0psychology textbook.\u00a0His response is to accuse\u00a0everybody else of lying. He accuses everybody on that\u00a0debate stage of lying, and it’s\u00a0simply a mindless yell.\u00a0Whatever he does, he accuses\u00a0everyone else of doing.\u00a0The man cannot tell the truth,\u00a0but he combines it with being a\u00a0narcissist.\u00a0A narcissist at a level I don’t\u00a0think this country has ever\u00a0seen.<\/strong><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Cruz went on to predict that Trump will betray supporters on every issue.\u00a0 We better hope Cruz is wrong about that, but I fear that Cruz nailed it.\u00a0 Donald Trump has openly admitted to contributing millions of dollars to politicians in exchange for political favors.\u00a0 He may even rival the Clintons in terms of pay to play corrupt politics.\u00a0 At least the Clintons hide what they are doing because they know it is wrong.\u00a0 Donald brags about it because in his demented world, nothing he has ever done is wrong.<\/p>\n The RNC is now calling on people to unite behind Donald Trump. \u00a0Good luck with that!\u00a0 I suspect there are a lot of people just like me.\u00a0 We can\u2019t imagine voting for Hillary Clinton, but we also can\u2019t imagine voting for Donald Trump. Spare me the nonsense about how failing to vote for Donald Trump is voting for Hillary. \u00a0Neither of them deserves to win. Both of them deserve to lose.\u00a0 The problem is: we lose either way.\u00a0 I predict a world class case of buyer\u2019s remorse, sooner rather than later.\u00a0 In the meantime, I am just going to sit this one out.<\/p>\n I will do some things.\u00a0 For the time being I am just going to turn off Fox News and CNN and put the TV on mute whenever I see, hear or read anything about the election, Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton.
