It has been obvious for some time that Fox News is pumping up Rubio big time.\u00a0 At first I thought they were just dumping on Cruz, but the following article from Breitbart offers a more sinister explanation:<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>Fox News\u2019s vice president of news and Washington managing editor, Bill Sammon, is the father of Marco Rubio\u2019s press secretary, Brooke Sammon.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Fox News\u2019s founder, Rupert Murdoch, is a co-chair of what is arguably one of the biggest immigration lobbying firms in the country, The Partnership for a New American Economy. Via his lobbying firm, Murdoch has endorsed Rubio\u2019s 2013 amnesty bill, as well as Rubio\u2019s 2015 immigration expansion bill. Murdoch has also endorsed President Obama\u2019s trade agenda, which Rubio has said would be the \u201csecond pillar\u201d of a President Rubio\u2019s three-pillar foreign policy strategy.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

One could make the argument that the Fox moderators had a mission to take down Cruz and elevate Rubio.\u00a0 \u00a0Granted Megyn Kelly asked a tough question regarding Rubio on amnesty.\u00a0 But she also tossed him some pretty nice softballs and she accused Cruz of supporting legalization, only to admit, after the debate, that the records show he most definitely did not support legalization.<\/p>\n

Chris Wallace asked Chris Christie to slam Cruz about his vote regarding the NSA legislation and then wouldn\u2019t let Cruz respond because Christie didn\u2019t mention Cruz by name.\u00a0 When Cruz complained, Wallace arrogantly rebuked him and later Fox used this exchange as evidence that Cruz had a bad night.<\/p>\n

Fox News didn\u2019t seem to notice that following this \u201cterrible\u201d<\/strong> debate performance by Cruz he gained several points and won the caucuses.\u00a0 Cruz was right that many of the questions were openly asking other candidates to explain to Ted Cruz why he is wrong.\u00a0 He made a mistake when he became defensive about this, but Fox News is at least partly to blame.\u00a0 It sure looks like they goaded him into this and then mocked him when he responded.\u00a0 We expect that kind of crap from MSNBC.\u00a0 We shouldn\u2019t tolerate it from Fox.\u00a0 I doubt that Cruz will make that mistake again.<\/p>\n

In the meantime, Fox News constantly promotes Rubio as the big winner.\u00a0 Is that having any impact on his increase in rating?<\/p>\n

Look at the questions Breitbart wanted Megyn Kelly to ask Marco Rubio.\u00a0 Note that Breitbart is not supporting Cruz, it is just pointing out that these are legitimate questions.<\/p>\n

I actually like Marco Rubio.\u00a0 He is charming and is great at explaining conservative positions.\u00a0 But bias is bias and we should all be aware of it when we see it.\u00a0 We shouldn\u2019t let the Republican establishment choose the republican nominee.\u00a0 We also shouldn\u2019t let Fox News decide that either.\u00a0 They liked John McCain and Mitt Romney too.<\/p>\n
