I just received notice of a class action settlement against Expedia.\u00a0 Wow!\u00a0 I get a coupon for $11.79 in the form of an Expedia coupon.\u00a0 What a deal.\u00a0 I may not sleep for weeks.\u00a0 This is about the third similar class action settlement notice I have received this year. \u00a0The others were not nearly this valuable.<\/p>\n
\u00a0But, these class action settlements are great\u2026for the attorneys who file the lawsuits.\u00a0 While individual settlements are very small, the attorney fees are really cool.\u00a0 They made $10 million.\u00a0 Isn\u2019t that great?\u00a0 I am so proud of this country.\u00a0 Of course these attorneys will give back to society by contributing millions of dollars to political candidates, like Barack Obama, who will fight tort reform to the bitter end.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0By the way, Expedia will just increase rates to cover the cost, so in the end the coupon will be nothing more than the return of an overcharge.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0Now you know why Malpractice Liability reform, which is acknowledged by everyone to be essential to reducing healthcare costs, was not even considered by the Obama administration.<\/p>\n
