Did you watch the press conference after the Chattanooga shooting?\u00a0 The FBI was warning against a \u201crush to judgment.\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0 They didn\u2019t want to assume anything regarding the motivation for this crime.\u00a0 That would be fine, except that if a black man is shot by the police there is certainly a rush to judgment.\u00a0 That is why Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown are household names.\u00a0 If this guy had a Tea Party connection there would have been a mad rush to judgment. Liberals are convinced that a lot of people are motivated to commit hate crimes by Fox News, Evangelical Christians, Rush Limbaugh, Sarah Palin or some other right wing racist. There is no evidence of that, but that has zero impact on the liberal left.\u00a0 In this case the shooter was named Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez.\u00a0 He had made several overseas trips to Muslim countries.\u00a0 Is that a coincidence? \u00a0Yet, incredibly, the FBI is not sure what motivated him:<\/p>\n

“We’re going to do an intense look at him to see what his connections are,” FBI Special Agent in Charge Ed Reinhold said. “We’ll look at his friends, family, associates — anybody who is associated with him to determine the\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>cause or the reason why he conducted this attack<\/a>.”<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

U.S. Attorney Bill Killian said officials were treating the attacks as an “act of domestic terrorism,” though the FBI’s Reinhold said authorities were still investigating a motive.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

I sincerely hope some leaders in the Muslim community step forward and deal with this.\u00a0 Otherwise this could get ugly.\u00a0 The case involving Robert Doggart is very disturbing.<\/p>\n

His response to the legitimate threat of Muslim Extremism was to develop a plot to kill all Muslims. He was motivated by videos alleging that Islamberg was conducting terrorist training.<\/p>\n

The videos are not confirmed and local police are skeptical, but he is not necessarily wrong about this facility.\u00a0 There is no excuse for what Doggart did, but this is not totally unpredictable.\u00a0 This is what happens when people lose faith in the federal government being ready, willing or even able to protect us.<\/p>\n

It is hard to have much confidence when the FBI seems intent on ignoring the obvious.\u00a0 As the blog says, sometimes what is obviously true is obviously true.<\/p>\n
