Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and Barack Obama are acting like they have the votes for health care reform.\u00a0 If they don\u2019t, this is going to be very embarrassing.\u00a0 At this point, we will assume that they do have the votes, but the question remains:\u00a0 for what?\u00a0 No one seems to know.\u00a0 One option is that the House will vote to approve the Senate bill, as is.\u00a0 If they do that, Obama will quickly sign it, and it will become law.\u00a0 I find it hard to believe that House Democrats will actually vote for the Senate bill, as currently written.\u00a0 My guess is that they are going to vote on a reconciliation bill first, for which they may be able to get the votes.\u00a0 Then, the will vote on the Senate bill, with the understanding that the reconciliation bill will change the bill.<\/p>\n
The belief is that this reconciliation bill will be passed by the Senate, with a simple majority and the law will be singed into action.\u00a0 Even if this passes the House tomorrow, this is far from a done deal.\u00a0 The Republicans in the Senate appear to be very united and they are going to work very hard to stop this legislation.<\/p>\n
In the theme of the day is, Trust Me, I\u2019m Lying.\u00a0 Pro-life democrats are being told that federal funding of abortions will be banned in the final bill.\u00a0 Pro-choice democrats are being told that federal funding of abortions will not be banned in the final bill.\u00a0 Obviously, someone is going to make this vote based on a bald-faced lie.\u00a0 House members are being told that the Senate will be able to pass this bill.\u00a0<\/p>\n
In my opinion, the Democrats are big losers either way.\u00a0 Some people think they are better off passing this than not, but I strongly disagree.\u00a0 There is unprecedented anger and disgust for this congress and this administration.\u00a0 While a handful of people on the extreme far left will be ecstatic,\u00a0a high percentage of Americans will be more than dismayed, they will be frightened.\u00a0 More importantly, they will be furious.\u00a0 At this point we better hope, if it passes in the House, that people will have faith that the Senate or the Supreme Court will be able to stop it.<\/p>\n
Glenn Beck often has his finger on the pulse of America better than just about anyone else.\u00a0 If you noticed lately he is practically begging people to remain calm and to avoid violence.\u00a0 There is a reason for that.\u00a0 When a government ignores public opinion to the extent it is being ignored by this government, there is a significant potential for wide spread public outrage.\u00a0 It would not take much of a spark to ignite a revolution.<\/p>\n
There is a lot going on, and don\u2019t be surprised to see the vote postponed once again.\u00a0 The worst case scenario for Obama, Pelosi and Reid is a straight up and down vote that fails.\u00a0 Such a defeat would literally end the Obama Presidency for all practical purposes.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Right now, the Republicans look gloomy and Nancy Pelosi looks giggly.\u00a0 That is usually a bad sign.\u00a0 We will know tomorrow.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
