In July, 2008 Sarah Palin said the following:<\/p>\n

“After the Russian army invaded the nation of Georgia, Senator Obama’s reaction was one of indecision and moral equivalence \u2013 the kind of response that would only encourage Russia’s Putin to invade Ukraine next,”\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The main stream media responded with horse laughs at such stupidity. \u00a0Turns out to be pretty darn accurate. \u00a0She is reminding people of that today and the main stream media has noticed:<\/p>\n

It reminds me that Winston Churchill was despised by the main stream media in Great Britain when he was warning everyone about Adolph Hitler.\u00a0 He was ridiculed for his warnings that the weak and indecisive response to Hitler would put the world in grave peril.\u00a0 The most honored and respected man in Great Britain at the time was Neville Chamberlain.<\/p>\n

All of a sudden, the silly and na\u00efve hockey mom from Alaska looks pretty darn Churchillian and Barack Obama looks a lot like Neville Chamberlain.<\/p>\n

I am also reminded that the actual trigger of World War II was a treaty that Great Britain and France signed with regard to Poland.\u00a0 Keep that in mind when you read the following about the Budapest Memorandum<\/strong>.\u00a0 Once again, we have to learn this from overseas because it doesn\u2019t appear that anyone in the main stream media picked up on this:<\/p>\n

The Budapest Memorandum was signed on February 5, 1994.\u00a0 Remember that the Soviet Union had disintegrated under President George H.W. Bush.\u00a0 One of the big problems was that some of the former Soviet states, including the Ukraine, had nuclear weapons.\u00a0 The Budapest Memorandum was an international treaty that required Ukraine to give up its nuclear weapons in exchange for certain promises:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Respect Ukrainian independence and sovereignty within its existing borders.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  2. Refrain from the threat or use of force against Ukraine.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  3. Refrain from using economic pressure on Ukraine in order to influence its politics.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  4. Seek United Nations Security Council action if nuclear weapons are used against Ukraine.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  5. Refrain from the use of nuclear arms against Ukraine.<\/strong><\/li>\n
  6. Consult with one another if questions arise regarding these commitments.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    This was signed by Bill Clinton, John Major, Boris Yeltsin and Leonid Kuchma.\u00a0\u00a0 There are already some people claiming that this treaty would require the west to respond militarily if Russia invades the Ukraine.\u00a0 Note that it specifically states within the borders as they existed in 1994.\u00a0 That would include the Crimea.<\/p>\n

    According to this article, Kiev has demanded that the international community live up to the agreement.\u00a0 This agreement really matters and to the best of my knowledge, no one in the main stream media, including Fox News, is even mentioning it.\u00a0\u00a0 If Putin is allowed to invade the Crimea with no threat of a military response will he be encouraged to challenge even more?\u00a0 He has already sent a warship to dock in Havana, Cuba.\u00a0 As Sarah Palin would say:\u00a0 \u201cyou betcha.\u201d\u00a0 <\/b>Maybe it\u2019s time people stopped laughing at her long enough to listen.<\/p>\n
