The Rod Blagojevich trial is under way.\u00a0 This is going to be a real circus.\u00a0 The first witness, Alonzo Monk, \u00a0on the first day was bad for Blagojevich.\u00a0 But, this witness may be\u00a0even worse for Obama:<\/p>\n

The problem with this testimony is that it clearly reveals who Tony Rezko is and how he operated.\u00a0\u00a0 That is devastating for Obama, because he had a close personal relationship with Rezko.\u00a0 Rezko even lived next door and cut a sweetheart deal so Obama could get his pretty new house.\u00a0 Recall that he is now serving time for corruption.\u00a0 Nice neighbor!<\/p>\n

It seems pretty obvious that\u00a0Blagojevich is guilty as sin.\u00a0 There are, after all, all those tape recordings.\u00a0 But, Blagojevich\u2019s attorney is arguing that this is just typical Illinois politics and since they can\u2019t prove that he got any actual money, it was not illegal.\u00a0 In other words:\u00a0 “this kind of quid pro quo is ok, as long as there no actual dough received as part of the quo.”\u00a0 There is the problem for Obama.\u00a0 In effect the Blagojevich defense is that he didn\u2019t do anything different that what was done by and for Obama.\u00a0 He has a\u00a0point!\u00a0<\/p>\n

So far the main stream media has taken the position that none of the allegations about Obama matter because this is just politics.\u00a0 But, the testimony by Blagojevich\u2019s aide shows that with Rezko involved, it is hard to imagine Illinois\u00a0politics without corruption.\u00a0 In order to believe that Obama is not personally corrupt, you have to believe that Rezko treated him differently than he did anyone else.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

At some point the odor of corruption emanating from Obama has to be somewhat noticeable\u00a0even by the olfactory challenged main stream media.<\/p>\n
