{"id":2454,"date":"2013-11-19T10:07:51","date_gmt":"2013-11-19T17:07:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/scotshonor.com\/?p=2454"},"modified":"2013-11-19T13:03:04","modified_gmt":"2013-11-19T20:03:04","slug":"the-turning-of-the-screw","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/scotshonor.com\/?p=2454","title":{"rendered":"THE TURNING OF THE SCREW"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In the midst of all the fuss about ObamaCare, many people are ignoring a very important story.\u00a0 Republicans have issued subpoenas with regard to Fast &amp; Furious.\u00a0\u00a0 Up until this point, Attorney General Eric Holder has played the slow walk, filing appeals with the Federal Court so that he can delay turning over these documents.\u00a0 He just lost that battle.\u00a0 Not only did the Judge deny his appeal, she prevented him from immediately appealing to a higher court.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.politico.com\/blogs\/under-the-radar\/2013\/11\/judge-wont-allow-holder-appeal-now-in-contempt-case-177796.html\">http:\/\/www.politico.com\/blogs\/under-the-radar\/2013\/11\/judge-wont-allow-holder-appeal-now-in-contempt-case-177796.html<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The judge also made a very interesting comment:<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>&#8220;While the Court agrees with defendant\u2019s characterization of the matter as significant, that is not the test,&#8221;\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Keep in mind that Watergate was a minor scandal, until a House committee started to subpoena documents and a court ordered the White House to comply.\u00a0 Erik Holder is now in a serious legal pickle.\u00a0 If he continues to refuse to comply with the subpoenas the House can take legal action against him.\u00a0 When you combine that with a political climate where the President has lost all credibility it becomes toxic.\u00a0 <b><i>\u201cHe lied to us about ObamaCare, how can we possibly trust him?\u201d<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t be shocked to discover that Fast &amp; Furious is far more serious than anyone thought.\u00a0 Watergate was only about a third rate burglary of the DNC.\u00a0 Who really cared about that?\u00a0\u00a0 No one cared, until documents were released that provided evidence of a cover-up.\u00a0 It wasn\u2019t the burglary at the Watergate Hotel that did in Richard Nixon.\u00a0 He probably didn\u2019t even know about that.\u00a0 What did him in was the cover-up.<\/p>\n<p>History has a nasty habit of repeating itself.\u00a0 Will that happen here?\u00a0 Probably not, but it is a lot more likely to happen now than ever before because of this court ruling. \u00a0At a minimum, there has been some turning of the screw and that is going to put incredible pressure on Eric Holder.<\/p>\n<p>TDM<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In the midst of all the fuss about ObamaCare, many people are ignoring a very important story.\u00a0 Republicans have issued subpoenas with regard to Fast &amp;
