We recently observed the 150th<\/sup> anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg.\u00a0 Perhaps this is a good time to consider what really happened there.\u00a0 Most people are more than aware that the Union won the battle and that it was a devastating defeat for the Confederacy.\u00a0 But not everyone is aware of how this happened.\u00a0 The union forces were entrenched on high ground.\u00a0 Prior to this battle and in most subsequent battles, the Confederate Army always tried to gain the high ground and force the Union to attack.\u00a0 But at Gettysburg Robert E. Lee didn\u2019t know where the Union forces were until it was too late.\u00a0 Jeb Stuart had been on a joy ride around the entire Union army, so he wasn\u2019t available to provide intelligence.\u00a0 Robert E. Lee knew the ground was terrible for the Confederacy, but he decided he could beat the Union anyway.\u00a0 He believed that if he could defeat the Union Army\u00a0 here, he could win the war.\u00a0 So he ordered a series of attacks against Union troops dug in on higher ground.\u00a0 The results were predictable and disastrous.\u00a0 Then he ordered one last desperate assault on the center of the Union lines.\u00a0 That is now known as Pickett\u2019s Charge.\u00a0 It was one of the greatest military disasters of all time.<\/p>\n

The liberal left is used to fighting battles on ground of its own choosing.\u00a0 They have never had to fight a battle on bad ground.\u00a0 They always pick on polarizing public figures.\u00a0 They focus on cases where outrage is inevitable, as in the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting.\u00a0 And they always get cover from the main stream media.\u00a0 But this time they made a mistake.\u00a0 They went all in on the Zimmerman case without bothering to find out the facts.\u00a0 This time they picked the wrong case, the wrong man and the wrong attorneys.<\/p>\n

They thought they would get away with this because the main stream media would continue to provide cover.\u00a0 That is exactly what did happen, but there was a very public trial and the false narrative of the angry white man with a gun evaporated under an onslaught of inconvenient facts.\u00a0 George Zimmerman was found not guilty and there is no chance any court will put him on trial again.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Trayvon Martin\u2019s parents are on national television asking Barack Obama to go through the case with a fine tooth comb.\u00a0 President Obama\u2019s shameless pandering has put him between a rock and a hard place.\u00a0 If he has any competent advisors, they will tell him to stay away from this case like the plague.\u00a0 If someone competent does pour over this case, they will discover the following:<\/p>\n

The original police chief refused to bring charges.\u00a0 That decision has been vindicated.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Angela Corey, the hired gun brought in by Governor Scott to prosecute George Zimmerman bypassed the Grand Jury process and got an indictment by submitting an affidavit directly to the hand-picked judge.\u00a0 \u00a0This affidavit failed to include the photographs of the injuries to Zimmerman. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Her actions were repudiated by the jury when they found Zimmerman not guilty.\u00a0 They were also harshly criticized by Allan Dershowitz more than a year ago: <\/b><\/p>\n

The problem for the liberal left is that Zimmerman won his case and now he can sue those who falsely accused him.<\/p>\n

It is possible that Angela Corey will be\u00a0sued for malicious prosecution.\u00a0 Zimmerman\u00a0will have a heck of a case.\u00a0 Just imagine calling Alan Dershowitz, a liberal law professor at Harvard who just happens to be a real constitutional lawyer, to testify as an expert witness.\u00a0 If you are an attorney trying to defend Angela Corey you are already starting to sweat.<\/p>\n

Breitbart is reporting that NBC has already been sued:<\/p>\n

NBC will probably attempt to settle this.\u00a0 That may not be an option.<\/p>\n

Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson may also get sued for slander and defamation of character.\u00a0 They will be shocked to learn that Zimmerman\u00a0has a case.\u00a0 They will be even more shocked to learn that their personal assets are at risk.\u00a0 They will be absolutely stunned to learn that they can be called to testify under oath in a court of law and that they cannot plead the 5th<\/sup>.\u00a0 At some point an attorney is going to explain to both of them that this is a case they probably cannot win.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It is important to remember that Zimmerman was a private citizen and he has an expectation of privacy.\u00a0 Unlike someone such as Sarah Palin, George Zimmerman can sue these clowns.<\/p>\n

I also expect Zimmerman to sue the prosecutors, particularly the one who called him a murderer on national TV, after <\/b>the verdict was confirmed.\u00a0 That prosecutor is also likely to have a very troubling meeting with his legal counsel.<\/p>\n

Zimmerman could even file a claim against Trayvon Martin\u2019s parents for his injuries.\u00a0 Trayvon Martin was a minor, and they are responsible for him.\u00a0 I don\u2019t think he will do that, but if\u00a0 Trayvon Martin\u2019s parents are foolish enough to sue Zimmerman, his attorneys have the option to counter sue.\u00a0 Even if they don\u2019t do that, Trayvon Martin\u2019s cell phone records will definitely be entered into evidence.\u00a0 This will not be another three-ring media circus where the media ignores one of the rings.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Eric Holder is pretending to investigate this.\u00a0 He has already ordered a seizure of the evidence.\u00a0 He is on dangerous grounds.\u00a0 This is interjecting himself into a case where he is likely to end up with no good options.\u00a0 He just may have pandered himself into the ultimate corner.\u00a0 If he does not try to pursue charges he will outrage the outraged.\u00a0 If he does try to pursue charges, in the face of overwhelming evidence, it will now be at personal risk.<\/p>\n

Holder is\u00a0using the Zimmerman case to try and get rid of the \u201cStand Your Ground\u201d law in Florida.\u00a0 But he ought to do a little research because it turns out that a lot of black people use this law when they are forced to defend themselves.\u00a0 The following article in the Daily Caller points this out:<\/p>\n

Black Floridians have made about a third of the state\u2019s total \u201cStand Your Ground\u201d claims in homicide cases, a rate nearly double the black percentage of Florida\u2019s population. The majority of those claims have been successful, a success rate that exceeds that for Florida whites.<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

I predict that this is going to be painfully embarrassing for a lot of people.\u00a0 This may happen sooner than you can imagine.\u00a0 It may change things faster than you thought possible. Forget the rhetoric and look at the facts.\u00a0 This time the good guys have the high ground and if the liberal left keeps launching ill advised assaults they are going to incur major casualties.<\/p>\n

At some point, the rest of the main stream media may even start turning on sacrificial lambs in a desperate attempt to save the franchise.\u00a0 As John Kennedy once said, “Defeat<\/i><\/b> is an orphan.\u201d<\/i><\/b>\u00a0 There will soon be a lot of orphans.<\/p>\n
