In Great Britain, where there is free government sponsored health care, a great new idea called the \u201cLiverpool Care Pathway\u201d was developed.\u00a0 Officially, this is a best practices guideline to be used in determining the care of dying patients.\u00a0 It was developed by Royal Liverpool University Hospital and Liverpool\u2019s Marie Curie Hospice.<\/p>\n

This is a program where dying patients are given happy pills, instead of curative treatment, to ease their passage into the next world painlessly; and, more importantly, quickly and cheaply.\u00a0 Liberals say this is just a more humane option for doctors when patients request it.\u00a0 But hospitals appear to have quotas for using it.\u00a0 They certainly are rated higher the more they use it.\u00a0 This means that if hospitals can convince more dying patients to forego expensive curative treatments and opt for an early and cheap exit, they get more money.\u00a0 One should hardly be surprised to learn that some people have allegedly been put on the Liverpool Care Pathway without the patient\u2019s knowledge or consent.\u00a0 In at least some cases the patient wasn\u2019t actually dying, which is obviously inconvenient.\u00a0 This is similar to how President Obama viewed the death of four Americans in Libya as a road bump.<\/p>\n

Now we learn that this wasn\u2019t just limited to old folks, someone decided what was good for the grandma was good for the grandson.\u00a0\u00a0 Incredibly there are reports of doing this to newborn infants.<\/p>\n

You either care about the sanctity of life, or you don\u2019t.\u00a0\u00a0 Once you start down the path of treating life casually, where does it end?\u00a0 Are some lives just worthless?\u00a0 This is the logic that has already resulted in the routine abortion of the fetus when the baby tests positive for Down syndrome.\u00a0 It is also the same logic that tells young girls that an abortion is a harmless solution to an inconvenient pregnancy.\u00a0 That is why there were about 750,000 abortions in the United States last year. \u00a0Earth to liberals:\u00a0 Very few of them were because of rape, incest or the health of the mother!\u00a0 \u00a0Ironically, the same people who don\u2019t have a problem with any of this are the ones most likely to protest the execution of an obviously guilty serial killer.\u00a0 In the deluded mind of the liberal left, killing an adult, convicted in a fair trial, is the height of evil.\u00a0 But, euthanizing grandma because she is sick, and it is expensive to treat her, is just common sense.\u00a0 Like I said, you either care about the sanctity of life, or you don\u2019t.<\/p>\n

The government that gives you everything feels totally justified in taking everything away.\u00a0 When you have free health care provided by the government, that government ALWAYS<\/strong> starts making decisions on who does and does not get care.\u00a0 There are numerous governmental studies out there that already express concern about the high cost of dying.\u00a0 They know that the last six months of life are often the most expensive.\u00a0 That is why things like the \u201cLiverpool Care Pathway\u201d appeal to socialists. It is why this, or something similar, is coming to America unless people wake up.\u00a0 \u00a0If you want to know what the future will look like under Obamacare, the answer is pretty easy.\u00a0 There will be plenty of money for important things like transgender surgery.\u00a0 There will also be money for happy pills, but not quite enough to try and cure grandma.<\/p>\n

For whom the \u201cLiverpool Care Pathway\u201d tolls? \u00a0it tolls for you and me.<\/p>\n
