My mother used to always say that what\u2019s good for the goose is good for the gander.\u00a0 I still am not entirely sure what she meant by that.\u00a0 Since a goose is female and a gander is male, some has interpreted to mean that if a woman can act that way, so can a man.\u00a0 I have always viewed this as meaning: \u201cdon\u2019t ask someone to do something you wouldn\u2019t want to do.\u201d\u00a0 Since my definition fits the story better, I\u2019m sticking with it.<\/p>\n

Nancy Pelosi has been leading the charge demanding, self-righteously, that Mitt Romney furnish all his old tax returns.\u00a0 Apparently when Ms. Pelosi said this she failed to realize there were mirrors in the room.\u00a0 The news media started suggesting she release her own tax returns. \u00a0\u00a0Better yet, perhaps every member of congress should release their tax returns.\u00a0 I am relatively sure this sent a collective chill down the spines of most members of congress, assuming we can find any who actually have a spine.\u00a0 Ms. Pelosi experienced a sudden anxiety attack so severe she briefly began to talk coherently:<\/p>\n

She suddenly decided that all this tax return stuff is just a trivial distraction compared with more important economic issues.\u00a0 Now when a liberal Democrat wants to change the topic to talk about the economy, you just know they are beyond desperate.\u00a0 I think I know why.\u00a0 A whopping 17 out of 535 members of congress have released their tax returns.\u00a0 This is probably one of the few topics where Ms. Pelosi is guaranteed bi-partisan support.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In addition, recognizing the danger here, Pelosi tried to introduce a poison pill by suggesting that the media should also be willing to release their tax returns.<\/p>\n

\u201cSome people think the same standard should be held to the ownership of the news media in the country who are writing these stories about all of this. What do you think of that?\u201d she asked<\/em><\/strong><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Let me translate:\u00a0 \u201cWhat\u2019s good for the goose is good for the gander.\u201d<\/p>\n
