When Obama decided to go on ABC to discuss gay marriage I thought it was a huge mistake.\u00a0 My theory was that those people desperate to see gay marriage legal in the United States were allready in Obama’s court.\u00a0 No matter what Romney did or said, those folks were sticking with Obama.\u00a0 But people who are definitely opposed to gay marriage would be infuriated by another politician determined to force everyone\u00a0to accept gay marriage.\u00a0\u00a0I was wrong.\u00a0 It was even dumber than I thought.\u00a0 The problem is that Obama\u00a0can’t ever give a straight answer about anything.<\/p>\n

Anyone who has paid any attention to Obama already knew he was for gay marriage .\u00a0\u00a0He admitted that back in 1996 when he was running for the Illinois State Senate.\u00a0 He just started lying about it when he decided to run for the U.S. Senate and realized this position was political poison.\u00a0 Suddenly Obama got religion and decided gay marriage was wrong.<\/p>\n

Joe Biden already mouthed off on the subject putting Obama\u00a0between a rock and a hard place.\u00a0 Obama did what he always does when faced with a difficult choice.\u00a0 He equivocated.\u00a0 He said he is personally for gay marriage, but thought the states should decide.\u00a0 Perfect.\u00a0 That impressed no one and angered people on both sides of this issue.<\/p>\n

Obama’s grand announcement is drawing more flak from the supporters of gay marriage than\u00a0from conservatives.\u00a0 This is probably because conservatives knew Obama’s real position all along.\u00a0 Following from the Gawker is typical:<\/p>\n

In the ultimate irony, Obama has simultaneously energized the conservative base opposed to gay marriage while alienating the extreme left that views gay marriage as the new civil rights movement.\u00a0 It is a rare politician who is capable of creating hate and discontent for people on both sides of a controversial issue.\u00a0 Obama has raised political incompetence to a new art form.<\/p>\n
