ANIMAL HOUSE

Although the media constantly accuses Trump of lying, the opposite is true.  Trump seldom lies.  He sometimes exaggerates and gets his facts wrong, but he is usually telling us what he really thinks.  It is his candor that is rare.  His opponents in the media, on the other hand often seem incapable of telling the truth.

This is more than obvious.  The main stream media loves to point out something Trump allegedly go wrong so they can accuse him of lying.  This started day one.  It was the main stream media that produced obvious fake pictures of the crowd during the inauguration and then arrogantly claimed that Obama had much bigger crowds. When Trump fought back they accused him of focusing on the minutia and lying.  I really don’t care about the size of the inauguration.  I wouldn’t be surprised if it was smaller if for no other reason than all the liberals were threatening violent protests.  But, incredibly, it just may be the main stream media lying about the crowd size anyway.  Who knows?

To show you how bad this is, the main stream media even accused Trump of lying because he said the sun was shining on inauguration day.  Again, who cares, but technically Trump is right, the sun did shine.  It also rained, like a lot of January days in Washington, D.C.  The real issue here is that the main stream media cannot resist calling Trump a liar anything they disagree with him.  Keep in mind that these are the same people who ignored really serious lies by Hillary Clinton with regard to Benghazi and her personal email server.

Studies show that most people lie on a regular basis, but all lies are not created equal.  Telling someone they look great may be inaccurate but it is not necessary wrong.  If someone asks you how your day is going and you say great, even though its’ been a lousy day, that is also inaccurate, but not necessary wrong. Sometimes a lie can be an act of kindness.  For example an EMT might tell a critically ill patient they are doing fine and everything is going to be ok when they know the opposite is true.  That is a lie, but do you really want them to tell the truth, regardless of consequences.  In a case like that, telling someone they are going to be fine just might save their life.

But some lies really matter.  If you lie under oath, about a criminal matter, that is a serious lie, unless you are Bill Clinton and it is only about sex.  But perhaps the most vicious and irresponsible lies are when you falsely accuse someone of lying just because you disagree with them.  The main stream media does that every day. Liberal Democrats have even proposed prosecuting anyone who dares dispute global warming.  Oops.  Thanks to a high level whistle blower we now know, thanks to a whistle blower, that NOAA has been caught cooking the books and it is NOAA that has been lying.  I doubt that anyone at CNN will notice.  I am sure that no one at CNN will care.

A false accusation of lying, particularly about a President, does serious damage to the country.  Liberal Democrats accused George W. Bush of lying about the WMD in Iraq. That is and was a lie.  It is well documented that Bush never said anything that was inconsistent with the intelligence.  He also never said anything inconsistent with what John Kerry, Hillary Clinton and other top Democrats were saying.  Far too many people still think Bush lied about the WMD because the main stream media refused to tell the truth about this.

The media will continue to falsely accuse Trump of lying, but this time they are dealing with someone more than willing to take them on.  Trump does have New York values.  Anyone who has spent any time in New York understands what this means.  If you attack a New Yorker, they attack back.  Trump didn’t back down, he stood on that stage and said “bring it on.”

If you really want to see unhinged people, watch CNN.  Wolf Blitzer looked like he needed a mid-show face lift and Chuck Todd was shrieking about Donald Trump looking out of control.  It looked a lot like John Belushi running around during a scene on Animal House telling people to calm down.
